The Goal

The goal of Avocado Smash! is to smash as many avocados as you can within the given time limit. Each smashed avocado earns you points, so get smashing and aim for that high score!

The Gameboard

The gameboard consists of a grid filled with avocados of different colors. You’ll see green, ripe avocados, as well as brown, overripe ones. Keep your eyes peeled!

Smashing Avocados

Now, the fun part – smashing those avocados! To smash an avocado, simply click on two or more adjacent avocados of the same color. The smashed avocados will disappear, leaving space for more to fall down.

Brown Avocados

Be careful with those brown avocados! If the brown avocados reach the bottom of the grid, it’s game over! So, be quick and strategic in your smashing to prevent that from happening.

Power-Ups

Time Limit

Hey there! The name of the game is to be the first person to get rid of all your cards. As you play and compete, you’ll be challenging your reflexes and honing your observation skills. So, stay sharp!

To start, shuffle the deck and deal all the cards face down, making sure each player gets an equal number of cards.

The youngest player goes first, and then the game moves clockwise.

Time to Play!

Flip over the top card from your pile and place it face up in the middle of the table.
The next player then takes the top card from their pile and puts it on top of the previous card, and so on.

If both cards have the same number of avocados, it’s time to smash! We have to quickly slam our hands down in the center. The slowest one to react loses the round and has to take all the cards from the center and add them to the bottom of their pile.

The player who lost the round starts the next one by placing their next card face up in the center.

But be careful, if anyone smashes incorrectly at any point in the game, the cards will be divided among the players who made the mistake.

Counting Avocados

When I flip over my card, I have to count avocados out loud, starting with “one avocado”.
The next person has to continue the sequence by saying “two avocados”, and so on. We keep counting up to “15 avocados” and then go back to “one avocado” as we reveal the cards.
If a card matches the number we say out loud, it’s a smash! Just like before, we all have to smash our hands down in the center, and the person who loses has to take the cards from the center.

When we change direction, we have to start counting backward right away. So, if the Change Direction Card comes up when we’re at “eight avocados,” the person before me has to say “seven avocados” and place a card.

We keep counting down until we reach “one avocado.” Then we go back up to “15 avocados” and keep going. This rule can be tricky, so be careful!

By the way, you can leave out this rule if it’s too hard for younger players.

If you get a “double smash,” which means there are two reasons to smash at the same time, those cancel each other out. We just keep playing like nothing happened. But, if someone smashes their hand down by mistake, they lose the round and have to take the cards in the center!
