6 nimmt! Junior Game Rules

Hey there! Are you ready to learn how to play the awesome game of 6 nimmt! Junior? I’m here to walk you through all the rules so you can start having a blast with your friends.

Let’s dive right in!

First off, I want to tell you that this game is super fun and exciting. It’s all about numbers and strategy. The goal is to get rid of your cards while avoiding getting too many bullheads.

Now, bullheads might sound funny, but they’re not something you want in this game. You see, bullheads represent points, and no one wants to have a lot of them. The player with the fewest bullheads at the end of the game wins.

Here’s how it works:

Each player starts with 10 cards. These cards have numbers from 1 to 10 on them. On each turn, you pick a card from your hand and place it face down in front of you. Then, at the same time, everyone reveals their cards.

Now comes the tricky part. You have to put your card in one of four rows on the table. You want to put it in a row where the number on your card is higher than the last card in that row. But here’s the catch – you also want to make sure your card is not the sixth card in that row. If it is, you have to take that row and add all those bullheads to your collection. Yikes!

But don’t worry, there are some tricks you can use to your advantage. For example, if you play a card that has a number that’s lower than any of the numbers on the table, you get to choose which row to add it to. This can really save you from getting a ton of bullheads.

The game continues with each player taking turns until someone runs out of cards. When that happens, the game is over, and it’s time to count up the bullheads. The player with the fewest bullheads wins the game and gets to claim bragging rights as the ultimate 6 nimmt! Junior champion.

So, are you ready to show off your number skills and avoid those pesky bullheads? Grab your friends and let’s play 6 nimmt! Junior. It’s a game full of strategy and excitement that will keep you on your toes. Have fun and may the best player win!

Right now, the sun is still shining in the bright blue sky above the small animal farm. But off in the distance, there are already dark thunderclouds looming.

The ponies, goats, rabbits, ducks, chickens, and even the little mice are searching for a place to hide from the storm. They’re all huddling together in the stables.

Your job is to assist the animals in finding space in the stables. If you can fit six different animals in one stable, you get to keep those cards.

The player who is able to shelter the most animals will be the winner.

Setting Up the Game

First, let’s set up the game. Place the four stable cards one beneath the other in the middle of the table.

Each stable card marks the start of a row.

Now, shuffle the animal cards and stack them face-down next to the stable cards (see picture).

How to Play

We’ll take turns going clockwise. When it’s your turn, draw the top card from the stack and flip it over, placing it at the right end of any of the four rows.

Then it’s the next player’s turn.

When placing a card, remember to follow these four rules:

  • You can only put an animal in a row that doesn’t already have the same animal.
  • If all four rows already have the animal, you can choose which row to place the card in.
Let’s talk about the rules of the game.
  • If the card I draw has multiple animals on it, I can only put it in a row where at least one of the animals hasn’t been placed yet. The other animals on the card might already be in that row.

If I win some animal cards, I’ll make a little pile in front of me. Then, I can fill up the empty row with more animal cards. Throughout the game, there will always be four rows to put cards in.

Here are a few examples:

If you’re wondering where to put the rabbit, don’t worry. You can only place it in the second row because it’s already in all the other rows. So, let’s move on to the “pony and rabbit” card. This card can be placed in the second, third, or fourth row because the pony hasn’t appeared in any of these yet. Easy peasy!

Hey there! Let’s talk about the “goat with rabbit and duck” card. It’s a pretty interesting one because you can place it in any row you want. It’s like a wildcard that adds a new animal to each of the four rows. How cool is that?

If you decide to put the card in the first row, something special happens. The row becomes full because it now has six different animals. And guess what? You’ll win three more cards! How awesome is that?

Now, let’s talk about how the game ends.

The game comes to an end as soon as the bottom card from the draw pile is placed in one of the rows. Once that happens, it’s time to do some counting. Count all the cards you have in your little pile. The player with the most cards is declared the ultimate winner!

But hey, if you’re still learning to count and can’t keep track of the cards, no worries! Just put all your cards in one row. And the player with the longest row wins. Simple, right?

Now, let me tell you about a cool variant of the game.

It’s called “No-one wants an animal card”. All the rules stay the same, but now there’s a twist. In this version, you have to try your best to avoid collecting animal cards. Only when there’s no other option, you can add the sixth kind of animal to a row and fill it up. So, fun challenges await you!

When we reach the end of the game, the winner is the player with the fewest cards.

A different way to play

In this new version, the numbers on the stable cards become very important. The card with the number 1 starts the first row, and the card with number 2 starts the second row, and so on.

But here’s the twist: instead of arranging the rows in a straight line, we arrange them in a star shape in the center of the table. Take a look at the picture on the right to see what I mean.

When it’s your turn, you’ll grab the top card from the draw pile and flip it over, putting it face-up on top of the pile. The cool part is that all players can see the card, so it adds an extra layer of excitement to the game!

In the game, we all try to figure out if we can put this card in a row that has all six types of animals. If we can’t, the player whose turn it is will put the card in one of the rows. But if we can, the first player who notices it shouts “six takes all” and grabs the stable card for that row. We all check right away if this row, along with the new card, really shows six different types of animals.

If the player guessed correctly, they get all the animal cards from this row, including the new card. But if they guessed wrong, they have to give up one card from their own pile, if they already have any cards.

When you grab a stable card in the game, you need to remember that it has to go back to where it came from at the beginning of the row. It’s an important rule you should keep in mind.

Now, what happens if two or more players yell “six takes all” and they each grab different stable cards? Well, in this situation, we have to check each of those rows.

  • If multiple players have guessed correctly and grabbed the right cards, they get to keep the cards from the rows that match their number card.
  • But if someone calls out incorrectly, they have to give up one card from their own pile, but only if they already have some cards.
  • None of the players get to keep the turned-over animal card. Instead, the player whose turn it is will place it in one of the rows, following the rules we talked about earlier.

Once the players have grabbed all the stable cards, they need to be returned to their original places at the start of the rows.
