Let’s Talk About Key Terms in the Game
Allies: Allies are your team members who join you in battle. When you play an Ally card, you get to use the special effect written on the card. After that, the Ally card goes into your discard pile at the end of your turn.
Banish: When a card is banished, it gets removed from the game completely. You place it in the banish pile, and you can’t use it anymore.
Champions: Champions are powerful cards that you can play from your hand. Once you play a Champion, it stays in play and gives you special benefits every turn. But be careful, because your opponents can destroy your Champions.
Destroy: Destroy means to put a card into your discard pile from play. Usually, this term is used when talking about Champions. If your Champion gets destroyed, it goes to your discard pile and can no longer help you in the game.
Exhaust: When a card has an Exhaust ability, it means you can use that ability once during your turn, whenever you want. To keep track of using an Exhaust ability, it’s a good idea to turn the card from vertical to horizontal. You can use as many different Exhaust abilities as you want in a single turn.
Fast-Play: When you see a Mercenary Ally in the center row, you can choose to fast-play it. This means that once you pay its cost, you can immediately take advantage of its effect. After you fast-play a Mercenary, it will go to the bottom of the center deck when the turn ends.
So what does it mean to fast-play a Mercenary? Well, it’s pretty simple. When you’re playing a game and you come across a Mercenary Ally in the center row, you have the choice to use it right away. Instead of waiting to buy the card and add it to your deck, you can pay its cost and get its effect immediately. It’s like getting a bonus right then and there!
Once you’ve fast-played a Mercenary, it’s important to remember that it’s not a permanent addition to your deck. At the end of the turn, it will go to the bottom of the center deck. So if you want to keep using its effect, you’ll have to wait for it to cycle back into the center row.
Fast-playing a Mercenary can be a powerful move in the game. It gives you the opportunity to take advantage of its effect right away, without having to wait to buy it. This can be especially useful if you need a quick boost or if there’s a particular effect that you know will help you in the current situation. So keep an eye out for Mercenary Allies in the center row and consider fast-playing them for a strategic advantage!
Gems: Do you know what gems are? Think of them as the magical resource that you need to recruit cards. It’s like having a secret key to unlock new possibilities in your game.
Health: Your Health is crucial in the game. It represents your life force and determines your ability to continue playing. If your Health reaches 0, unfortunately, you’re out of the game. It’s important to note that you cannot have more than 50 Health, so be mindful of your Health levels.
Mastering the Game: Mastery enhances the strength of your cards. You don’t spend mastery, and it doesn’t disappear at the end of your turn. Instead, mastery accumulates from one turn to the next.
Becoming a Mercenary: When you pay the required number of gems for a Mercenary, you have the option to either add it to your discard pile or play it immediately.
Power : Power is what you need to strike at your foes, both enemy players and Champions.
