Welcome to Zombie Run!

I’m excited to tell you all about this awesome game for kids and families. In Zombie Run, you get to take charge of your very own horde of zombies! How cool is that?

So here’s how the game works. To start, you’ll need to draw a card. Each player gets a card and keeps it face-down on the table. But here’s the twist: you can only see two of the cards at the beginning of the game. The rest of the cards in your hand are a mystery!

Now, it’s up to you to remember which cards you have and make some tough decisions. On your turn, you can choose to replace one of the cards in your hand with the card you just drew. But be careful! You don’t want to end up with too many zombies in your horde.

You see, the number of zombies on each card is important. The higher the number, the more points you’ll get. But remember, it’s not about having the most points. In Zombie Run, the player with the lowest total score wins the game!

Let’s Talk About the Cards and Setup

Hey there! So, let me tell you about Zombie Run. It’s pretty cool, actually. It’s a game that comes with a deck of 74 cards. Inside the deck, there’s a mix of different cards. We’ve got 15 empty street cards, 15 zombie horde cards, and 45 numbered zombie cards. It’s a pretty simple setup, but it makes for some exciting gameplay!

So, here’s how it goes. I’m the oldest player, so I get to deal first. I’ll shuffle the cards and give each player four cards, face down. Then, the deal goes to the left for each round.

Now, those four cards that I dealt to each player are put face down in a 2×2 grid. This is what we call the player’s hand. The rest of the cards go in the center, face down, and they make up the draw pile.

Let’s get the game started! Take the top card from the draw pile and flip it over to begin the discard pile.

LET’S PLAY

As we begin the game, you and I can each take a peek at two cards from our respective hands. Remember to keep them hidden from our opponents! It’s crucial to have good memory for this part. We’re aiming to end the game with the least number of zombies.

When it’s your turn, you have two options: draw the top card from either the draw pile or the discard pile. Once you’ve chosen the card, you get to decide which card from your hand to switch it with. The card you remove is then placed face up on the discard pile. Of course, if you draw a card from the draw pile and decide not to keep it, you reveal it by placing it face up on the discard pile.

Play continues in this manner, with each player taking their turn as I’ve just described. On your turn, remember that you must draw a card and discard one. There’s no passing allowed!

LET’S FINISH THE ROUND

If you think you have the fewest zombies in your hand, you can end the round by shouting “I’VE GOT BRAINS!” after discarding your cards.

Next, each player reveals their hand by turning over all four cards and adds up the numbers on them to calculate their zombie total.

SCORING

Each card has a number on it, and players add up the values of all their cards. The score for each round is recorded on the score sheet.

WINNING

The player with the lowest total points wins the round, and the player with the lowest total score after five rounds wins the game.
