Welcome to Untold, an incredible storytelling game that puts you in the shoes of a hero, with an epic journey waiting to unfold. Unlike any other game, Untold offers a truly unique experience where every adventure is fresh and unpredictable. No matter how many times you play, you’ll never know what twist and turns await you. Get ready to let your imagination soar as you join forces with your fellow players to create unforgettable tales!

Game Setup

First, let’s get started with setting up the game. Find a nice spot to play and put the Story Board right in the middle. We’ll need to organize the Scene Cards next. There are five different types, so group them together accordingly. Don’t forget to shuffle each set of cards before placing one of each type on the assigned spaces of the Board.

If there are any extra cards that you didn’t use, just put them back in the box for now. We’ll deal with them later. Now, let’s focus on the tokens. Take a look at the spaces on the Board and put the correct number of Action Tokens and Question Tokens on each one.

Almost there! Grab the stacks of Reaction Cards and Outcome Cards and shuffle them up. Place each stack beside the Board, and you’re all set to start playing.

When you start playing, you’ll get everything you need to dive into the game. You’ll have your own Dashboard, a set of Edit Tokens, a Play and Pause Card, a character profile sheet, and an Episode Guide Sheet. To get things going, all the Story Cubes are put into the Story Cubes Tray. And don’t forget to grab a pen or pencil – now you’re good to go!

LET’S PLAY

Hey there! Before we jump right into the game, we need to start by picking the place where our adventure will happen. We do this by answering some questions on the Episode Guide. Once we all agree, one of us will write down the answers. This way, we’ll all know what kind of world we’re stepping into.

Next, we decide when and where our story takes place, along with what the characters know about their surroundings. Once we’ve got all that figured out, we’re all set to begin! We start by imagining what kind of danger the world is facing in the first Scene called A Dangerous Dilemma. To kick things off, we reveal the first Scene Card and roll all nine cubes onto the tray. Then, we move them around the card, creating the opening scene for our adventure.

In the first scene, I’ll help you create your character by answering some fun questions. We want to make sure you have a unique and interesting persona for the game.

Now, things are going to get really exciting in scene two! We’ll add a twist to the episode by introducing a dark force. This mysterious entity will enter the game and shake things up. Get ready for a thrilling ride!

Scene three takes us to a brand new location. It’s important that we deal with the unexpected twist that was introduced earlier. I’ll help you navigate through this unfamiliar territory.

As we move on to scene four, the truth about the threat we’re facing will be revealed. Prepare yourself for a shocking revelation!

Now comes the most intense part of our adventure – scene five! It’s time to put an end to the terrible schemes that have been uncovered. But be careful, there are two different dangers that we’ll need to overcome. Our success depends on our abilities and teamwork. If we can resolve these threats, then we win! However, if we can’t find a resolution, we all lose.

THE GAME IS OVER

Once the Final Showdown phase is finished, the game reaches its conclusion. It’s time for me and the other players to complete the relevant sections of the Episode Guide. We also have to answer the two questions mentioned in the Episode Guide. If we manage to resolve the episode successfully, we win the game. However, if we fail to do so before the Final Showdown phase ends, we will lose.
