Origin game rules – how to play origin

Get Ready to Shape Civilization!

Hey there! In the game of Origin, we step back in time to the beginnings of humanity. It all started in Africa, where we’ll embark on an epic journey as we make vital choices that will shape the course of mankind. Are you ready?

Setting Up for Adventure

Now, let’s get things set up for our grand adventure! First things first, we need to place the game board in the center of our playing area. Right beside it, we’ll position the Rewards board, which holds some exciting surprises for us. Make sure to place the pawns within easy reach of all players. And don’t forget, our weakest pawns go on any area marked with the powerful Origin symbol. Oh, and each player gets to pick a color to represent them throughout the game. They’ll be collecting villages in their chosen color. Ready to roll?

Alright, here’s how we get started with the game. First, we shuffle the action cards and put them facedown on the rewards board. Then, we do the same thing with the permanent cards.

Next, we shuffle the objective cards and give each player a set of three. But here’s the twist, you can only keep one card from the set. The other two go back in the pile. We shuffle those discarded cards and put them on the rewards board.

Now, let’s deal with the innovation tiles. We place them on the rewards board in their own special spots. Any leftover tiles go in a reserve pile, face down.

Do the same with the strait tokens and hunting tokens by randomly placing them on the main board. If there are any unused ones, we can tuck them away in the box.

Finally, it’s time to start playing! The player who’s the smallest gets to go first. Good luck!

GAMEPLAY

When it’s my turn, I get to do something cool. I have three options: evolve, migrate, or swap. Each option comes with a special reward that I get to keep. And hey, I can also play a card of each color if I want!

Let me tell you about each option. Evolving means I can put down a new pawn and village on an empty space on the board. Migrating lets me move one of my tribes and villages to a different spot on the board. And if I feel like shaking things up, I can choose to swap by moving my pawn and village to a space that’s already occupied by another player’s village.

But wait, there are rules! I have to meet certain requirements before I can evolve, migrate, or swap. And after I’ve made my move, I get to collect the rewards that come with it.

When playing the game, there are different pieces that can lead to rewards for you. These include cards, strait tokens, hunting tokens, and innovation tiles. Depending on the piece, you may receive different rewards. Once you have taken your turn, it will be the next player’s turn. The game will continue in this order until it comes to an end.

The Game Comes to an End

The game ends when any of the following elements run out: cards, innovation tiles, tribe pawns, or villages. If you are the player who used up the last of any of these elements, you will start the ending sequence of the game. At this point, everyone will get one more turn before points are counted.

Hey there! I just wanted to share a cool game with you – it’s called “The Objective Card Game.” It’s super fun and easy to play. Let me explain how it works!

So, in this game, at the end, you can use more than one objective card if you want. But, remember, you can’t draw or replace objective cards. After that, we tally up the points and see who has the most. That player is the winner!

By the way, my name is Ellie! I live in Northeast Tennessee, and I wanted to tell you a little about myself. I’m a big fan of animals – all shapes and sizes. I also love reading fantasy fiction novels and being outdoors. I have an amazing husband who loves me almost as much as our two adorable fur babies. Being part of this awesome community is such a great experience!

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed hearing about the game and getting to know me a bit. If you have any questions or want to chat, feel free to reach out. Have a fantastic day!
