ODIN’S RAVENS
Hey there! Did you know that Odin, the mighty god, has these two cool ravens named Muninn and Huginn? Well, let me tell you a secret. Odin sends them all over the world to find out what’s happening on Earth. And guess what? After flying on the same paths for thousands of years, these ravens have become quite competitive. It’s a race between them to see who can reach Odin first! Cool, huh? You get to be one of these incredible ravens and join in the exciting race. But beware! Loki, the mischievous god, likes to play tricks. He can create shortcuts to help you or make things hard for your opponent. You never know which way he’ll go! Are you up for the challenge? Give it a try and let’s see who wins!
SETUP
Alright, let’s get started! First, we need to set everything up. We’ll shuffle these land cards, and a total of sixteen of them will be placed between you and your opponent. These cards are super important because they create the flight paths for the ravens. Cool, right? Oh, but wait, we can’t have two matching spaces in a row, so be careful! Once the cards are set, it’s time to position your raven at one end of the land cards. And then, let the race begin!
If a raven reaches the last land card, it switches sides and returns via the second route. You’ll receive 25 flight cards and 8 Loki cards in your chosen color. Shuffle each set separately and place them face down to create draw piles. Draw five cards of your choice from the piles to start the game.
HOW TO PLAY
You decide how many cards to play on your turn. Each card allows you to take a different action, and you can take as many actions as you want, as long as you have the required cards. If you play a flight card, your raven advances along the path. If you play a trickery card, you perform the action on the card.
To play a flight card, all you need to do is use a card that has the same type of land as the space in front of the raven. If there are multiple matching land spaces, you can use the flight card to move the raven across all of them. But what if you don’t have a matching card? Don’t worry, you have another option. You can use two matching cards to move your raven one space.
Now, let’s talk about Loki cards. These special cards have two actions, giving you more choices. But remember, once you choose an action, the card is removed from the game and can’t be used again. So take some time to read and understand the Loki cards before the game begins. They can really give you an advantage!
After I finish my turn, I have to draw three cards, and then it’s your turn. But here’s the tricky part – if you have more than seven cards, you have to get rid of some until you only have seven left. It keeps going like this, with each of us taking turns, until the game ends.
END OF GAME
The game comes to an end when you move your raven to the last space on my side. And guess what? You win! But if you were the first one to move, I still get a chance to move my raven to the finish point. If I can do it, then the winner is decided by who has the most cards in their hand.
