Welcome to the World of Mantis Card Games!
The Magic of Mantis
Imagine this: you sit down at a table with your friends, a deck of playing cards in your hand. The world is at your fingertips as you shuffle the deck and deal the first hand. The game is Mantis, and it’s like nothing you’ve ever experienced before. Mantis is a card game that combines strategy, skill, and a hint of luck to create a mesmerizing experience that will keep you coming back for more.
The Basics
So, how does Mantis work? The goal of the game is simple: be the first player to get rid of all your cards. To achieve this, you’ll need to use your cards strategically, playing them in the right order and at the right time. Each card in Mantis has a specific action associated with it, such as skipping a player’s turn or reversing the direction of play. Understanding the different actions and how they can be used to your advantage is the key to success in Mantis.
Strategy and Skill
Mantis may seem easy at first, but as you dive deeper into the game, you’ll discover its depths. Every move you make can be a game-changer, so you’ll need to think carefully about your decisions. Will you play a card that forces the next player to draw two cards? Or will you save it for later, in case you find yourself in a tight spot? The choice is yours.
But Mantis isn’t just about strategy. It’s also a game of skill. As you become more familiar with the game, you’ll start to recognize patterns and anticipate your opponents’ moves. You’ll develop your own unique playing style and learn to adapt to different situations. It’s this combination of strategy and skill that makes Mantis so captivating.
The Thrill of the Unknown
One of the most exciting aspects of Mantis is the element of surprise. With each card played, the game can take a sudden turn, leaving you in a state of anticipation. Will the card you draw be the one you need to win the game? Or will it throw a wrench in your plans? The thrill of the unknown keeps you on the edge of your seat, making each game an exhilarating experience.

Hey there, let me tell you about Mantis, a super cool card game that’s all about collecting cards with a crustacean theme. The goal is to collect ten cards as fast as you can. How do you do it? Well, you can match cards in your own tank, or you can try to steal cards from your opponents’ tanks. Exciting, right?
Now, here’s the secret sauce: each card has a special color-coded back that gives you a hint about its color. This will help you make smarter choices with less risk. But hey, don’t get too brave! If you guess wrong and fail to steal a card, your opponent gets rewarded with more Mantis cards in their tank. And that means more chances for them to score!
WHAT’S IN THE BOX
The Mantis deck is unlike any other. It’s made up of seven vibrant suit colors, with fifteen cards of each color. Each color is represented by a unique character and symbol, making it easy to identify. The back of each card features an image with three different colors, and the card itself will be one of those three colors. This clever design gives players some valuable hints when making decisions. And just to add to the excitement, the Mantis deck also comes with a thrilling comic book titled Why the Mantis Shrimp is My Favorite Animal.
GETTING STARTED WITH MANTIS
Here’s how we play Mantis:
Let’s start by shuffling the Mantis deck and dealing four cards to each player. Once you have your cards, flip them face up so that you can see the characters. Lay them out in a row, making sure your opponents can see them too. This row is called the Tank.
The remaining Mantis deck should be placed face down to create a draw pile. Make sure everyone can reach it. Also, leave some space beside your Tank for a score pile.
Now it’s time to play!
First, we need to choose who goes first. Once we decide, the player has two options on their turn: they can either score or steal. Before you draw a card from the draw pile, you must announce whether you’re going to score or steal.
If you say you want to score, take the top card from the draw pile. Show it to everyone and put it next to your tank. If the card you reveal is the same color as any other card in your tank, you get points. Take out the revealed card and any matching cards and put them in your score pile. But if the revealed card is a new color that doesn’t match, you can’t score. Leave the card in your tank. When you have more than one card of the same color, stack them on top of each other so that everyone can see. It’s the next player’s turn.
When it’s my turn to play and I want to steal a card, I start by drawing one. I then reveal it next to one of my opponent’s tanks. If the color of the card I revealed matches with one of their cards, I get to take both the card I revealed and their matching cards, adding them to my tank. However, if the color doesn’t match, that card stays in my opponent’s tank. After my turn, the next person to play is the one on my left.
Achieving Victory
As we continue playing, our score piles will keep getting bigger. We need to make sure our piles are organized, with each card slightly on top of the others. And if someone asks us how many cards we have in our score pile, we have to answer honestly. The game ends when someone collects ten or more Mantis cards in their score pile. And when that happens, they win immediately!
Hey there! I wanted to talk to you about something really cool – the Mantis card game. It’s a fun game where the goal is to collect as many Mantis cards as possible. But here’s the thing – sometimes the draw pile runs out of cards before someone gets ten Mantis cards. When that happens, the person with the most cards in their score pile wins. And if there’s a tie, the player with the most cards in their tank wins. Pretty cool, right?
TWO PLAYER GAME
Now, let’s say you’re playing with a friend. In a two-player game, the first person to collect fifteen Mantis cards in their score pile wins. But wait, there’s more! If you manage to steal a card from your opponent, you get to take another turn. Talk about an advantage!
