LONG SHOT
Hey there, horse betters! Ready to test your betting skills? Well, saddle up and let’s get started. Long Shot is the game for you! It’s a family-friendly, high-stakes betting experience that can accommodate up to eight players. Trust me, you’re in for a wild ride!
SETUP
Okay, here’s the deal. First things first, we need a banker and bet-keeper. This person will handle all the money and make sure everything runs smoothly. It’s important to choose someone honest for this role. We don’t want any cheaters at our table!
So here’s the deal. We’ve got this gameboard, right? It goes smack dab in the middle of our playing area. And right behind the starting line, we’ve got all the horses lined up. Easy enough, yeah?
Now, on the side of the board, within everyone’s reach, we’ve got the betting chips and the cash. Gotta have those handy, you know? And on the other side of the board, we’ve got the horse cards, face up and in a neat little line.
Now, before we dive into the action, each player gets a ten-dollar bill and three five-dollar bills. That’s your starting cash. Oh, and you also get three long shot cards and a reroll token. Keep those close, they’ll come in handy.
Alright, we’re all set up. Now, let’s figure out who’s gonna go first. We’ll roll the horse die, and whoever gets the highest roll takes the first turn. Sound fair? Great.
GAMEPLAY
When it’s my turn, I have to do the things that are listed under the “Horse features” on the horses I own. After that, I roll the dice to move my horse, do another action, draw a card, and then pass the dice to the person on my right.
I have to do all the actions that are listed under the horse features on the horses that I own. Then, I roll the die and move the horse that amount along the track. The horse die tells me which horse to move, and the move die tells me how far to move that horse.
When I take my chosen action, the one that does not depend on my horse, I can do a few different things. I can play a long shot card, buy another horse, place a bet on a horse, or discard two of my cards to earn money from the bank. Once I’ve made my choice and completed my action, I will draw a card or pass. Then it’s the next player’s turn. We keep taking turns until three horses have crossed the finish line.
THE END OF THE GAME
The game ends when the third horse crosses the finish line. We have to discard any cards and bets that aren’t related to the first three horses. The other horses go back to the bank. After that, we figure out how much we’ve won.
If you love horse racing, you’ll love this exciting game! Let me break it down for you. The first horse that crosses the finish line gets a prize of $100 from the bank. The second one gets $75, and the third one gets $50. But that’s not all! You can also place bets on the horses and win even more money.
