King albert – learn to play with

I’M KING ALBERT!

Hey there! I’m King Albert, a cool solitaire game that’s a lot like the popular Klondike. In Klondike, you stack cards in a tableau, right? Well, in King Albert, we do things a little differently. Instead of just having a draw and waste pile, we spread the remaining cards in a neat row below the tableau.

Your goal is to move cards into their proper foundations according to their suit. It’s all about organizing and strategizing!

LET’S TALK ABOUT THE CARDS & THE DEAL

In King Albert, we play with a standard deck of 52 French cards. Before we get started, give that deck a good shuffle. We want things to be nice and random.

Now, here’s how the deal goes down: the cards are dealt face up and stacked into nine columns. The first column only has one card, while the second column has two cards, and so on. Make sure you can see the rank and suit of each card as they’re layered together.

Oh, and don’t forget about the final seven cards! Those are placed face up in their own row, separate from the tableau. They’re what we call the reserve cards. Keep an eye on those!

THE PLAY

When the cards are dealt, you can start moving them around the tableau. You can move any exposed card on the tableau one at a time. Remember, you have to build columns in a descending order based on rank. Also, the cards in each column should alternate in color. For instance, let’s say the top card of a column is a 9 of spades. In that case, you can only place the 8 of hearts or diamonds on top of it.

As soon as an Ace is revealed, you can move it to start a foundation pile for that suit. Foundations are built in ascending order by suit. So, if the foundation starts with the Ace of spades, the next card you can place on top is the 2 of spades. If necessary, you can even move the top cards from the foundation piles back to the tableau.

So, here’s the deal. You’ve got this game called King Albert, right? And let me tell you, it’s a bit tricky, but I’ll break it down for you, no worries.

Now, there are these seven cards that you can move around, but here’s the catch – you can only move them to the tableau, and once you move a card, you can’t put it back. It’s like making a decision and sticking to it, you know what I’m saying?

And once you’ve moved all those seven cards, the reserve spots become empty. And guess what? They stay that way. Empty. No coming back.

Now, let’s talk about winning. Who doesn’t want to win, right?

Okay, so in King Albert, the goal is to create four foundations. And here’s how you do it. You start each foundation with an Ace, and then you build on it, going from the same suit and ascending order, all the way up to the King. Simple, huh?

So, if you manage to do that, bingo! You win the game! Easy peasy, right?
