Hey there! If you’ve got a knack for making people laugh, then Joking Hazard is the game for you. It’s all about using your creativity to create funny cartoon strips from the Cyanide and Happiness series. The best part? You get to play to the judge’s unique sense of humor to earn points and win! So, let’s dive in and learn how to set up the game.

SETUP

First things first, let’s start by shuffling the deck. Once that’s done, each player gets seven cards from the deck. The remaining cards are placed face down in the middle of the table. Now, it’s time for the fun to begin!

Next, we need to choose a Judge. There’s no set method for choosing, so it’s up to the group to decide. Once the Judge is selected, they’ll place a card from their hand on each side of the flipped-over card. This creates a two-panel comic, and that’s when the game officially starts.

HERE’S HOW YOU PLAY JOKING HAZARD

Now, each player will choose one card from their hand and place it face down in front of them. The aim is to pick a card that complements the comic panel in a way that the Judge will find amusing. After all the cards are played, the Judge collects them, shuffles them up, and then reveals each card. Finally, the Judge selects the card they find most hilarious.

When you play a card, you get to keep it if it’s the one you picked. Cards with red borders can only be played as the last one. If you choose a red-bordered card, you have to choose two cards. If your cards are chosen, you get two points. The game keeps going with the next player becoming the Judge.

At the end of the game, whoever has three points is the winner. And then you can start all over again!
