JOKERS GO BOOM (GO BOOM)
WELCOME TO JOKERS GO BOOM (GO BOOM)!
Hey there! Have you ever played Crazy Eights? Well, Jokers Go Boom is a simpler version of that classic game. We don’t have any wild cards or special rules here, just good old-fashioned matching. All you need to do is play cards that have the same suit or rank as the ones in the discard pile. It’s easy peasy! That’s why Jokers Go Boom is perfect for little kids like you.
But wait, there’s more! In this version, we have something special – Jokers! These Jokers will add extra fun and excitement to the game. That’s why we call it Jokers Go Boom.
GETTING STARTED
Before we jump into the fun, let’s make sure we have everything we need. To play Jokers Go Boom, you’ll need a standard deck of 52 playing cards. Oh, and don’t forget two Jokers! If you want, you can even add more Jokers to make the game even crazier. But hey, if you don’t have any Jokers, no worries! Just use the Aces instead. They’ll be the ones that Go Boom!
Let’s start by having each player choose a card from the deck. Whoever has the lowest card will be the dealer and keep track of the score.
The dealer will then deal seven cards to each player, one card at a time. The remaining cards will be placed face down on the table to create the draw pile for the game. The top card from the draw pile will be turned over and placed next to it to form the discard pile.
It’s Time to Play
Now, during each turn, we want to get rid of cards from our hand. To do this, we need to match either the suit or the rank of the card on top of the discard pile. For example, if there’s a 4 of hearts on top, I can either play a 4 or any heart. If I can’t make a match, I’ll have to draw a card from the draw pile. But remember, my turn is immediately over, whether I can play the drawn card or not.
In a game like this, we keep playing until one of us runs out of cards. If we run out of cards in the draw pile, we just skip our turn.
When one of us plays our last card, the round is done. Now it’s time to see who scored what.
About Jokers
You can play a Joker on your turn. When you do that, say “BOOM!” Then everyone else has to draw a card from the draw pile. After that, the next player takes their turn.
Scoring
When the round is over, the person who got rid of all their cards scores 0 points. The rest of us score points based on the cards left in our hand.
Jokers are worth 20 points each. Aces are worth 15 points each. And Kings, Queens, Jacks, and Tens are worth 10 points each.
In this game, the number cards 2 through 9 are worth their face value. So, a 2 card is worth 2 points, a 3 card is worth 3 points, and so on.
How to Win
We each play a round, and the person with the lowest score at the end wins. It’s that simple!
