Welcome to Jaipur!

Hey there, folks! Jaipur is an awesome game where you and another player compete to be the top trader in this magical land. Are you ready for an incredible adventure?

What’s Inside?

Inside this game box, you’ll find a deck of 55 goods cards. These cards include 6 diamonds, 6 gold, 6 silver, 8 cloth, 8 spice, 10 leather, and 11 camels. It’s a treasure trove of excitement and surprises!

Imagine this: You’re standing in a room, surrounded by 60 tokens. And each of these tokens holds something special. There are 38 goods tokens, ready to be explored and cherished. They offer a world of possibilities and opportunities. Then there are 18 bonus tokens, little surprises that bring an extra sparkle to your journey. And don’t forget the camel token, a symbol of resilience and adaptability. Finally, there are 3 Seals of Excellence, tokens that represent the pinnacle of achievement, a mark of true mastery.

As I look at all these tokens, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement. The possibilities seem endless, and I can’t wait to dive in and discover what each token has in store for me. It’s like holding a piece of magic in my hands, waiting to be unleashed.

But amidst all this excitement, I also feel a sense of responsibility. With so many tokens to choose from, it’s important to make the right decisions. I need to consider each token carefully, taking into account its unique qualities and what it can bring to my journey.

It’s a delicate dance, this process of choosing the right tokens. I need to understand their meanings and implications, and weigh them against my own desires and aspirations. It’s about finding the perfect balance between what I want and what each token can offer.

So, as I navigate through this sea of tokens, I remind myself of the importance of staying true to my own path. I keep in mind that each token is a reflection of who I am and what I stand for. And if I choose wisely, these tokens will serve as guiding lights, leading me towards a future filled with joy, success, and fulfillment.

With these thoughts in mind, I invite you to explore the world of tokens. Dive into their meanings, embrace their power, and let them inspire you to create your own unique journey. The world of tokens is waiting for you. Are you ready to embark on this adventure?

Getting Ready

Let’s start the game by setting up the playing space. First, put three camel cards face up in the middle, creating the marketplace. Then, shuffle the rest of the cards and deal five to each player. Place the remaining deck face down on both ends of the marketplace as the draw pile. Keep some space nearby for the discard pile. Now, to complete the marketplace row, draw two cards from the top of the draw pile and place them face up alongside the camels. It’s alright if one or both of these cards turn out to be camels too.

If you have any camels in your hand, take them out and put them face up on the table in front of you. This collection of camels is called your herd. However, it’s possible that you might not have any camels at the start of the game.

Let’s start by sorting and organizing the tokens. We want to make sure that both players can see the values, so let’s spread them out. Make sure to arrange the tokens from least valuable to most valuable.

Next, let’s sort the bonus tokens by type. We have three different types, so let’s shuffle each type and create three separate piles. We won’t spread out these piles.

Finally, let’s place the three Seals of Excellence tokens somewhere on the table where both players can easily reach them.

Welcome to The Play

When it’s my turn to play, I have two options: I can either take cards or sell cards. But I can only choose one of these actions each turn. Once I’ve made my decision, I’ll have a few choices to make.

Take Cards

If I decide to take cards, here are my options:

Take a Single Good

I can draw one card from the marketplace and put it on top of the draw pile.

Take Several Goods

If I want to take multiple goods from the marketplace, I can take as many as I want. But I have to replace each card I take with the same number of cards from my possession. I can use the goods I have in my hand, the camels in my herd, or a combination of both.

Let’s Grab the Camels!

Now, I have the option to snatch up all the camels from the market and add them to my herd. If I go for this move, the cards that I take will be replaced with new ones from the draw pile.

Once I’ve taken the cards I want and made the replacements, my turn comes to a close. But remember, I can’t have more than 7 cards in my hand when my turn ends.

Sell Your Cards

If I want to sell some cards, I pick a specific type of good and discard as many cards of that type as I want to the discard pile. The number of tokens I earn will depend on the sale.

After deciding on the type of good I want to sell, I can also place as many cards of that same type face up on the discard pile.

When you sell a card, take a token from the pile of good types. Start with the token on top and work your way down. Keep the tokens you earn in a stack in front of you.

If you sell three or more cards of the same type, you get a bonus. Take the bonus token that matches the number of cards you sold. The value of the bonus token is a mystery until you draw it.

You can only sell one type of good in each round. If you’re selling silver, diamonds, or gold, you must have at least 2 cards to make a sale, even if there’s only one token left for that type.

ENDING A ROUND

The round ends when three types of goods tokens are gone or the marketplace can be filled with cards from the draw pile.

SCORING

When it comes to playing this game, the goal is to collect as many camel cards as you can for your herd pile. The player who has the most camel cards in their herd will earn the camel token, which is worth 5 rupees.

Once everyone has collected their tokens, it’s time to see how many rupees each player has earned. The player with the most rupees will be awarded a Seal of Excellence. In the case of a tie, the player with the most bonus tiles will win the round. And if there is still a tie, the player with the most goods tokens will win the round and earn the Seal.

The player who loses the round will get to go first in the next one, giving them a chance to turn things around. The game continues until one player has won two Seals of Excellence, making them the ultimate winner.

WINNING

The first player to earn two Seals of Excellence will be declared the winner of the game. So make sure to collect those camel cards and rupees to secure your victory!
