HAPPY LITTLE DINOSAURS GAME RULES

Hey there! Welcome to the world of Happy Little Dinosaurs. I’m excited to show you the rules of this fantastic game. So, let’s dive right in!

Firstly, I want to emphasize that these rules are specifically made for Happy Little Dinosaurs. We want to make sure everyone has a fun and enjoyable experience while playing. Ready? Alright, here we go!

Rule 1: Setting Up

To start the game, you’ll need a game board, dinosaur cards, action cards, and victory point tokens. Place the game board in the center of your play area and give each player a dinosaur card and a set of action cards. Shuffle the victory point tokens and place them face-down within reach.

Rule 2: Game Turns

Happy Little Dinosaurs is played in turns, and each turn consists of three phases: the Morning Phase, the Afternoon Phase, and the Evening Phase. During the Morning Phase, players lay down their dinosaur cards and play action cards to gather resources and expand their dinosaur families. In the Afternoon Phase, players can place their dinosaurs on the game board and collect victory point tokens. The Evening Phase is all about resolving any remaining actions and preparing for the next round.

Rule 3: Scoring Points

The goal of Happy Little Dinosaurs is to score the most victory points by the end of the game. You can earn victory points by completing objectives, collecting sets of dinosaurs, and strategically placing your dinosaurs on the game board. Make sure to keep an eye on your opponents and adapt your strategy accordingly.

Rule 4: Special Cards

Throughout the game, you’ll come across special cards that can give you unique advantages or disrupt your opponents’ plans. Pay close attention to these cards and figure out the best way to use them to your benefit.

Rule 5: The End Game

The game ends when all the victory point tokens have been collected. At this point, players count up their victory points to determine the winner. The player with the most victory points is the ultimate Happy Little Dinosaurs champion!

And there you have it! Those are the rules of Happy Little Dinosaurs. I hope you’re as excited as I am to start playing. Remember, the key to success is strategic thinking and a bit of luck. Good luck, and may your dinosaurs be the happiest little creatures in the land!

In this article, I’m going to walk you through the rules and everything you need to know about Happy Little Dinosaurs!

SETUP

First, you need to pick your Dinosaur player board and a Dinosaur meeple. These will represent you in the game. Put your board right in front of you on the table.

Now, let’s separate the cards. We have light backs and dark backs. Start by shuffling the light backed cards and give each player five of them. The rest of the cards make up the Main deck, so put them in the middle of the table. The dark backed cards will be the Disaster deck. Shuffle those and place them on the left side of the Main deck.

And now, we’re ready to begin!

LET’S PLAY HAPPY LITTLE DINOSAURS!

Okay, let’s get started with the first round. Look at the top disaster card with the current disaster, like a really emotional one, and read it out loud. Now, it’s time to choose a point card from your hand and keep it face down. If you don’t have any point cards, you can throw away your hand and draw five new cards. Once everyone has picked a card, reveal them all.

Now, it’s time to score the round. The player with the highest points gets a score equal to their points and moves their Dinosaur meeple along the escape route on their player board. The player with the lowest points adds the revealed Disaster card to their Disaster area on their board. Your score is the value of the point card facing up, but it could change depending on other cards.

After each round ends, I’ll move my Dinosaur meeple forward on your escape route. The number of spaces I move is equal to the number of Disasters I have in my Disaster Area. I’ll then draw cards from the Main deck until I have five cards in my hand again. Before the next round starts, all face-up Point cards and Instant cards are moved to the discard pile.

Disaster Cards

If I collect three Disaster cards of the same type or three different types, I’ll be immediately eliminated from the game. I must discard my hand. However, Meteor cards are different. They can act like any type of card. If I collect a Meteor card along with two other Disaster cards, I’ll be eliminated as well.

When you gather disaster cards, they let you move your Dinosaur meeple one space on your escape route. This can be really useful in certain situations. And hey, if it doesn’t kill you, it’ll make you stronger.

When you come across disaster cards, check out your Dinosaur’s traits. You can find them at the bottom of your Player board. Depending on the Disaster, your Dinosaur’s traits might earn you extra points or cause you to lose points.

Point Cards

Every Point card in Happy Little Dinosaurs has a value assigned to it. You can find this value on the corners of the card. Some cards also have special effects. These effects let you discard cards, draw cards, swap Point cards with other players, or change the rules for scoring in the current round. Remember, you have to use a Point card’s effect after you reveal the card but before scoring happens.

If multiple players play Point cards that have effects, the player with the lowest card value can use their effect first. Some cards specify when their effect can be used. These rules must be followed when using the effects.

Instant Cards

Instant cards can instantly change the outcome in your favor. All Instant cards state when they can be played during the game. These cards have significant effects, but you must obey the timing.

End of the Game

There are two ways the Happy Little Dinosaurs game can end. If a player collects a total of fifty points on their escape route, they instantly win the game. If all the other Dinosaurs perish, the last one remaining in the game wins! Who will emerge victorious in the Happy Little Dinosaurs Game? Only the cards can reveal that!
