Stay Steady on Shaky Ice

Hey there, kids! Let’s play a super cool game called Don’t Break the Ice. You can play this game all by yourself or gather your pals for some icy fun. The aim of the game is to stay standing strong while keeping the animal from falling.

Get Ready to Play

Here’s how you set up the game: Start by flipping the ice tray upside down. This allows you to carefully slide the ice blocks into their designated slots. The big ice block can go anywhere, but for the first round, let’s place it right in the middle. Now, position the rest of the ice blocks around it and make sure they’re snugly packed. Holding everything together, gently flip the tray over to keep all the blocks in place. Finally, don’t forget to put the plastic animal on top of the big ice block. It’s ready for action now!

Let the Games Begin

When playing the game, the first step is to randomly select a player or choose the youngest player to start. From there, the game continues in a clockwise direction, with each player taking their turn. During their turn, they will grab a hammer and select an ice block to hit. The goal is to keep hitting the block until it becomes loose and falls from the tray, dropping below the board.

It’s important to note that players must be careful not to hit the large block or position it in a way that it will fall. Once a player has chosen an ice block to hit, they cannot change their mind. Even if other blocks fall while they are hammering, they must continue until the block they initially chose falls.

The game or round comes to an end when the animal block and large block fall out of the tray, dropping below the board.

If you’re playing a game by yourself or with a friend, the game is over when either the animal falls off the board. However, if there are more players, the board gets reset and the player who knocked the animal off is out. We keep playing rounds until there’s only one player left.

GAME OVER

The game ends when either the animal falls off the board or when only one player is left. If you’re playing alone, try to see how long you can keep the animal from falling. If you’re playing with a friend, the winner is the one who didn’t knock the animal off. And if there are more than two players, the winner is the last one to not get eliminated.
