Welcome to Catch’n Fish!
Hey there! I’m excited to tell you all about Catch’n Fish, a super cool fishing card game made just for kids. Let’s dive right in and find out how it works!
Imagine this: You’ve got a hand full of cards, and your goal is to pair them up to match the number on the spinner. You can do this by adding or subtracting the numbers on your cards. Oh, and here’s the fun part – you can make as many matches as you want on your turn!
But hey, what if you can’t find a match? No worries! You can ask one of your opponents if they have a card you need. They might just give you a helping hand.
Now, here’s another twist – if you run out of cards, don’t sweat it! Just give that spinner a spin and see how many cards you can draw. The more cards you have, the more chances you get to make those awesome matches!
The ultimate goal? Be the first player to make five matches and become the fishing master!
Inside the Catch’n Fish box, you’ll find a deck of fifty-five cards. Forty of these cards are numbered from 1 to 10 (and there are four of each number!). There are also six cards with the number 0 on them. You’ve also got nine wild cards that you can use instead of any number you need – talk about handy!
And that’s not all! There’s also a double-sided spinner included that lets you play the game in two different ways – either as an addition game or a subtraction game. How cool is that?
So, are you ready to jump in and have a blast playing Catch’n Fish? Grab the cards, spin that spinner, and let the fishing fun begin! Enjoy!
First, insert the arrow into the spinner on the addition side. Then, shuffle the entire deck of numbered cards and deal seven cards to each player. The remaining cards are placed face down to form a pond. This pond will be used as the draw pile throughout the game.
A FUN GAME TO PLAY
Let’s start by spinning the spinner. It will tell us what number we need to make with our pairs. I’ll go first!
When the spinner stops, I look at my hand and find two cards that add up to the number on the spinner. I can pick any cards I want, as long as they add up to the right total. Then, I place those cards face up on the table so everyone can see them.
For example, if the spinner lands on 9, I could lay down a 4 and a 5. I’ll keep going and put down as many pairs as I can, but I can only use each card once.
Do you know what wild cards are? They’re like secret weapons that can help you win a card game! Wild cards can stand in for any number you need to make a pair. It’s like having a magic card that can transform into anything you want!
If I can’t find a match with the cards I have, I can ask one of my opponents for a card. I have to ask for a specific number that, when added to one of my cards, will equal the number on the spinner. If I get that card, I can lay down my match and end my turn. But if I don’t get that card, my turn is over right away.
If I don’t have any cards at the start of my turn, I have to spin the spinner. Whatever number it lands on is how many cards I have to draw from the pond. That’s also the number I have to match with pairs from my hand.
We keep going in a clockwise direction, following these rules, until one player has made five pairs.
The first player to make five pairs is the winner of the game.
