Candyman drug dealer game rules – how to play candyman

By: Dennis B. B. Taylor

Welcome to Candyman!

My goal in this game is to fulfill my role and score points. Are you ready to play?

The game requires at least 4 players, but it’s even more fun with a larger group.

Let me explain how it works:

The Basics

In Candyman, each player is assigned a secret role using playing cards. We’ll need a standard 52-card deck for this. We’ll use 1 Ace, 1 King, and enough number cards (2-10) so that everyone gets one card.

I’ll shuffle these cards really well to keep their values secret. Once the cards are shuffled, each player will draw one card and that will determine their role in the game.

Let the Game Begin!

So here’s the deal: in this game, everyone has a role to play, and each one of us has a different goal. The Candyman’s job is to sell candy or drugs to as many people as possible, but without getting caught by the cop. It’s a tricky task, though, because the Candyman needs to signal to the buyers without anyone noticing. You see, only the Candyman is allowed to give these secret signals.

Now, the buyers have a mission too. They want to buy candy or drugs, but they don’t want anyone to know who their supplier is. At first, nobody knows who the Candyman is, so it’s a game of mystery. If a buyer manages to receive a signal from the Candyman, they have to say, “Sold!” and reveal their cards. But hey, they can’t give away the Candyman’s identity! It’s a dangerous game, my friend.

But here’s the twist: the clever cop is on a mission to foil both the Users and the Dealer. The cop is determined to expose the Candyman as quickly as possible, using a simple yet effective strategy. When the cop believes they have uncovered the Candyman, they enthusiastically shout, “Busted!” The accused, at this critical moment, must reveal their true identity by showing their card. If it turns out that they are indeed the Candyman, the round comes to an end, and the cards are mixed up and dealt again. However, if they are not the Candyman, the round continues uninterrupted. The cop can continue making accusations, but players become extra cautious during the game since they already know who the cop is.

The Scoring System

While scoring is not necessary for this game, it can be a fun addition. The scoring is based on players’ success in fulfilling their roles:

  • Candyman: Players earn +1 point for successfully making a deal and -2 points if they are busted.
  • Buyer: Players earn +1 point for buying candy or for wrongly being accused.

If you accuse the wrong person, you lose a point. But if you correctly accuse the Candyman, you gain two points!

  • Scoring: -1 point for an incorrect accusation, +2 points for catching the Candyman

You can accumulate points throughout the game. The game lasts for 15 rounds or until a player reaches 21 points.

So, put your detective skills to the test and see if you can catch the infamous Candyman!
