How to Set It Up
Are you ready for a fun game in your yard? Let me show you how to play ladder toss! With just a ladder and some bean bags, you can have a great time with your friends and family.
First, put the ladder on one end of your yard. Now, grab a pen and paper and let’s assign scores to each rung of the ladder. You can get creative here! How about 10 points for the area below the bottom rung, 30 points for the area below the top rung, and 50 points for the area below the second to the bottom rung? The scoring doesn’t have to make sense, in fact, the more random, the better!
Next, place the bean bags around 30 feet away from the ladder. We’re almost ready to start! Use a chair or a rope to mark a throwing line and a foul line. Make sure everyone knows the rule: they have to throw the bean bags from behind the throwing line and avoid crossing the foul line.
Let the Game Begin!
Let’s start by dividing everyone into two teams. If someone won the last round, they get to go first this time.
The first player on Team A throws their bean bag towards the ladder, making sure it goes between two rungs. Depending on where they throw it, they can get different amounts of points. For example, if they throw it below the 10-point rung, they get 10 points. Then, the first player on Team B takes a turn to do the same. The two teams keep taking turns until all the bean bags are thrown. And remember, the throwing team always stands on the same side of the throwing line when they throw the bean bag.
The game ends
We calculate the points for each team by adding up the points scored by each player. The team with the most points wins!
I’m an enthusiastic writer who loves to inspire people to have a good time by playing games. For three years, I organized and led pub crawls, where we played drinking games every day with the guests. And since I come from a big family of game enthusiasts, you could say that games are just a natural part of who I am.
I’m also a big fan of traveling and music, so much so that I’ve started my own personal blogs about both topics. Whenever I have the chance, I love exploring new places and experiencing different cultures. And when it comes to music, I can’t help but get lost in the rhythm and melodies.
