WHAT’S IN THE BOX

When you open the box, you’ll find a battle grid and storage trays that hold all the pegs you’ll need for the game. There are 50 sunk pegs, 60 miss pegs, and 60 hit pegs. But here’s the fun part – instead of just taking one shot at a time, you get to roll a die to determine how many shots you can take!

Before the game begins, you’ll need to draft ships from either the normal blue deck or the more advanced red deck. And don’t worry, there are card holders included for up to six players to keep everything organized!

SETUP

Alright, let’s get started! First, I want you to unsnap the grid from the storage trays. Don’t worry, it’s easy! Just separate them.

Now, snap the storage trays together at the corners. This will create the base of our game board. Make sure that the trays with dividers are opposite each other.

Next, place the grid on top of the storage trays and snap it into place. It should fit snugly.

Remember those pegs? The ones with the Battleship Royale logo on them are for the sunk ships. Put them in the trays with the logo. As for the miss/hit pegs, they go in the trays with the divider. Easy-peasy!

Now, let’s move on to the next step. Each player will need a command center, which is basically a card holder. Make sure everyone has one.

We need to shuffle the blue ship cards and deal five to each player. That’s for a game with 2 to 4 players. If we have 5 to 6 players, deal four cards to each person instead.

Alright, this is where it gets fun! Take a look at the cards you were dealt and choose two ships to discard. We won’t be needing them for this game. The remaining cards go into your command center.

Now, let’s start playing!

Alright, let’s get this game started! The youngest person is up first, and then we’ll take turns going clockwise. It’s my turn now, and I’m going to roll the die to see how many shots I can take.

When it’s your turn, you’ll also roll the die to find out how many shots you can take. To take a shot, just tell me the coordinate you want to shoot at. Take a look at your ship cards to see if I hit any of your ships. If I do, you have to let me know. We’ll mark the coordinate on the grid with a peg to show whether it was a hit or a miss. And don’t forget to mark your command center with a hit peg if I hit it. Once you’ve taken all your shots for your turn, it’s the next player’s turn.

Now, if I sink one of your ships, I’ll let you know right away. I’ll hand you the ship’s card so you know it’s out of play. We’ll add the sunk pegs to the hit pegs on the board, so everyone knows that ship is done for.

So, here’s the deal: when I sink your ship and grab the card, I get a special bonus shot. I can use it right away or save it for later. Once I use that bonus shot, I turn the card over. It’s like an extra chance to hit your ships!

HOW TO WIN BATTLESHIP ROYALE

When you play this game, it’s all about trying to sink your opponent’s ships before they sink yours. If you lose all of your ships, you’re out of the game. And the last player left with ships still floating is the winner. It’s a thrilling game of strategy and luck!

ADVANCED MODE

For those looking to elevate the challenge, there’s an advanced mode you can try. Instead of the blue deck, use the red deck. This adds a whole new level of excitement to the game. In the advanced mode, you’ll separate the ship cards from the submarine cards. Each player gets a submarine card right at the start. Then, shuffle the ship cards and deal four to each player in a 2 to 4 player game or deal three to each player in a 5 to 6 player game.

Now, here’s where it gets really interesting. Each player has to discard two of the cards they were given. This adds a twist to the game, as you have to carefully consider which cards to keep and which ones to let go. The remaining cards, along with the submarine card, go into the player’s command center. It’s a strategic move that can make or break your chances of winning.

Hey there! Let’s kick off your turn by giving your sonar a go, if you feel like it. Remember that you only have one chance to use it in the game. To activate your sonar, simply shout out the name of a row or column. If your opponent has a ship in that row or column, they’ll have to respond loudly with “PING”. That’s your cue to mark that area with a red hit peg. If you’d rather skip the sonar, we can move on to the next step.

Now it’s time to roll the die and take your shots. In advanced mode, you’ll fire all your shots at once. So, without pausing, call out the coordinates and let your opponents double-check their cards. If you hit any ships, announce it and keep track, just like you would in the regular rules.

When a submarine is underwater, it can be in the same location as another ship. If both the submarine and surface ship are hit in that overlapping location, you stack two pegs on it to mark the hit. Remember not to mark the space as sunk until both ships are sunk.

When you sink a ship, you get the card for it. The card will show how many extra shots you can take. You have to use all the bonus shots at once. You also get a bonus sonar sweep when you sink an opponent’s submarine. You can use the bonus shots and sonar sweep right away or save them for later turns.

Just like in the regular game, players get eliminated when they lose all their ships. The last player left is the winner.
