The Intriguing World of Anachrony
Welcome to the fascinating world of Anachrony, where a cataclysmic explosion has reshaped our reality in the 26th century. In this post-apocalyptic setting, the remnants of humanity are divided into four distinct factions – each with their own vision for the future. Will you choose salvation, progress, dominance, or harmony?
As you embark on your journey, your main objective is to collect vital resources to ensure the survival of your civilization. This is no easy task, as you must also navigate the impending cataclysm, striving to avert ultimate disaster. It is an arduous yet thrilling challenge that awaits you.
Now, you may be wondering: how does one emerge victorious in this chaotic world? The answer lies in accumulating the most points. The player who achieves this feat is crowned the new Capital, possessing the power to shape the fate of humanity. Will you rise to the occasion?
Preparation for the Journey
Let’s get started with the setup. First, put the game board in the middle of the playing area. Next, place the dice and the evacuation tiles on their designated spaces on the board. We have two decks: one for the 11 Recruit cars and the other for the 11 mine cards. Shuffle each deck and put them facedown beside the board. Now, let’s divide the building tiles into power plants, factories, labs, and life supports. Shuffle each deck and place them next to the board, facing up.
We also need to place the anomalies, the Paradox die, and the tokens in their designated spots. Make sure to put the resources on the upper right corner of the board, with Water on the top left. Keep the breakthroughs, energy cores, and workers beside the board. And don’t forget to have all VP tokens easily accessible to all players.
So here’s the deal – we’ve got these timeline tiles, right? They’re like little rectangular pieces that we place in a line below the board. And when we do that, voila, we’ve got ourselves a timeline! Now, the thing is, the impact tile is pretty special – we put it right smack in the middle between the fourth and fifth tiles of the timeline. It’s like the star of the show.
But wait, there’s more! We also have these superprojects. They’re like cards or something, and we randomly draw one for each of the timeline tiles. Here’s the catch though – only the first one is facing up. The others are hiding their faces, playing it coy.
Now, picture this – each player has their own marker, right? They take that marker and place it under the left tile. It’s like saying “this is my spot, don’t mess with it!” So, remember, left tile, marker goes under it. Got it?
Player Setup – Let’s Get Ready!
Alright, now it’s time to get down to business. Each player needs to pick a Path. Basically, that means they get their own player board, exosuits, warp tiles, path markers, morale, and travel markers. Don’t worry, you’ll figure out what all that stuff is for, but for now, just know that they’re important.
Once a player has chosen their Path, they’ll place it in front of them. But here’s the fun part – they’ll put it down with a random side up. It’s like a little surprise that adds some spice to the game. Exciting, right?
Now, here comes the gathering part. Each player gathers all their Path-specific things. You know, the ones we talked about earlier – the player board, exosuits, warp tiles, path markers, morale, and travel markers. Just make sure you’ve got everything you need for your chosen Path.
Oh, and let’s not forget about the leader cards! Each player gets to choose one from their Path and place it on their board in the assigned spot. It’s like having a team captain or something. Cool, huh?
Alright, buckle up, folks! We’re about to dive into the gameplay. Get ready for some serious fun!
Hey there! Let me tell you about this amazing game called Era: Age of Innovation. It’s super cool! The game is divided into seven eras, and each era has six phases. We go through these phases in order, one after the other.
First, we have the Reveal phase. During this phase, we uncover the next superproject. It’s like a surprise that we get to discover together! Then, we have the Shift phase, where we move the building stacks around. We also refresh the supply of resources that we’ll use in the upcoming era. It’s like preparing for what’s to come!
In the first era, we skip the Paradox phase. But don’t worry, we’ll do it in the rest of the eras. In the Paradox phase, players who completed Warping will roll for Paradoxes. It’s like a little challenge we have to face.
Next up is the Exosuit phase. This is where players can power Exosuits. These fancy suits allow our workers to do special actions on the game board. How cool is that? We get to give our workers power!
Then comes the Warp phase. In this phase, we can place Warp tiles on the timeline. We get to collect assets and make strategic moves. It’s all about planning ahead and making the right moves at the right time.
So that’s how the game goes! It’s all about going through these phases and making the most of each one. It’s a game full of surprises, challenges, and strategic thinking. If you’re into that kind of thing, you’ll definitely love Era: Age of Innovation!
When it’s time for action, we all take turns making moves on our boards and the game board. We keep going until everyone has passed. Then, we collect workers and exosuits from the spaces and move our markers to the next Era. We do this for seven Eras straight.
THE END OF THE GAME
The game ends when the last Capital Action space is no longer available or when we finish the 7th Era. Then, we have to deal with the timeline issues. We have to fulfill all the outstanding Warp tiles and get rid of them from the timeline. If there are any Warp tiles left that we can’t fulfill, we get two Victory Points for each one.
So here’s what you do: first, you gotta check out the five Endgame cards above the gameboard- those are important. Take a look at what conditions you’ve met and score yourself three Victory Points for each one. Then, add up your points for all the different things you’ve done – like timeline penalties, winning Victory Points, Morale, buildings, Anomalies, Time Travel, and Superprojects. Write it all down on the scoring pad.
Oh, and speaking of Victory Points, each Breakthrough you make gets you one point. And if you’ve got a set of three Breakthroughs, you get an extra two points. Pretty cool, huh?
Okay, so the player with the most Victory Points? They win the whole shebang! And not only that, but they become the newest member of the World Council. How cool is that?
