The Thrill of Adrenaline
There are five races in this game, each with their own unique traits that help them survive in different environments. As we explore the galaxy, it’s up to us to guide these factions, harness resources, and build advanced colonies on various planets. The game is divided into three phases, and our goal is to earn victory points by advancing our colonies. The player with the most victory points will be crowned the ultimate winner!
Game Setup: Getting Ready for Action!
First things first, let’s choose our colors! Each player will pick a color to represent them throughout the game. Once we’ve chosen our colors, we gather our action cards, starship meeples, colony meeples, factory meeples, terraformer meeples, scoring token, and rule sheet – all in our chosen color.
Now, it’s time to set the stage for our galactic adventure. We’ll place nine stars on the table, with the white star in the center and the other eight stars around it. Most of these stars are yellow or red, but there’s something special about that lone white star – it’s where our journey begins!
Are you ready to embark on an interstellar journey? Well, I’ve got just the game for you! It’s called “Planetary Adventure,” and it’s all about exploring and colonizing distant planets.
Let’s get started, shall we? First, we need to set up the game. Make sure there is a planet facedown for each player. These planets will form the first system. Now, everyone picks a planet randomly and reveals it, placing a factory on it. But watch out for those alien planets – if you get one, swap it for another. Once all the planets are set, arrange them around the suns. You’ll find three to seven suns in total.
Okay, now it’s time to organize the resource cards. Sort them by type and create separate decks for each type. Make sure they’re face down and placed to the side of the gaming area. Oh, don’t forget about the alien artifact cards! Shuffle them up and put them face down as well. These go beside the resource cards. Each player should also take one resource card for themselves.
Now, let’s set up the planning board. This board will be the central hub for all your strategic decisions. Place it in the middle of the playing area. Also, make sure each player puts their meeple on the victory point track on the planning board. And voila! The game is now ready to begin.
GAMEPLAY
Hey there! Let’s dive into the exciting world of gameplay together. It’s my turn to explain the rules to you, using simple words that we can both understand.
Starting Point
We all start with a figure on the board. This figure will stay there for the whole game. But before we start playing, we need to decide where to place our figure. To do this, we follow these steps: First, we draw two powerup cards. Then, we choose which card we want to keep. After that, we reveal the card we didn’t choose, and place our figure on the spot that matches the card we chose. Lastly, we discard the card we revealed. Now that we have our figures on the board, we can begin the game.
It’s Your Turn!
Now it’s your turn to take action! During your turn, you can choose to do two things. The options are: running around, grabbing stuff, or shooting people. You can choose the order in which you want to do these actions. And if you feel like doing the same action twice, you can totally go for it! It’s all up to you.
If you decide to run, you can go up to three spaces. Remember, you can only move to a space next to the one you’re currently in, and you might be able to pass through a door but not a wall. If you choose to collect items, you have two options: either move one space and pick up the things there, or stay put and gather the things in your current space. You can’t grab items and move at the same time though. Some items have costs that you have to pay, and there are also limits on how many items you can have.
To attack someone, you need to use a weapon card, choose a target, pay the necessary costs, and apply damage. Damage is represented by colored tokens.
When I finish my turn, I can reload my weapons, count my points, and replace any collected tiles. This is how I know my turn is over.
Counting Points
First Blood: If I make the first shot on the board, I get 1 point.
Damage: The player with the most damage gets 8 points. The player with the second highest damage gets 6 points, and so on.
I collect tokens throughout the game and add up my points at the end.
The End of the Game
The game ends after the last turn. We score all the boards that still have damage tokens. Then, we score the killshot track. The player with the most tokens gets 8 points, the second highest gets 6 points, and so on. We all reveal our points at the same time. The player with the most points at the end of the game wins!
