There you have it, 21 incredible drinking game rules to spice up your next gathering. Remember to drink responsibly, have fun, and cheers to a great time!
When I talk about 21, I don’t mean the game of blackjack or the legal drinking age. No, 21 is not your typical drinking game. It’s a game that requires quick thinking and sharpness. Who would have thought that counting to 21 could be so challenging? But like most drinking games, the more intoxicated you are, the more hilarious it becomes.
HOW TO PLAY 21
21 is a really easy game, and it starts out so simple that anyone can play – even if you’ve had a few too many drinks (hopefully not)! We all stand in a circle and take turns counting from 1 to 21, with each person saying one number. The catch is, when someone says 21, they have to take a sip and come up with a new rule for the game.
After each round, when someone gets to 21, we add a new rule. So as the game goes on, it gets more and more complicated! There can be as many as 21 rules to remember as we keep playing!
Now, what kind of rules can we add? Well, that’s up to our imagination! But if you need some ideas, here are a few examples:
- Swap the numbers 8 and 17
- Skip number 2
- Jump over number 9
- Bark like a dog when we get to 20
- Do a little dance when we reach 13
- Whisper a secret number to someone every time you count a multiple of 3
- Replace multiples of 5 with a word that starts with the same letter
- Take a drink at number 3
If you make a mistake, take a shot (or have a drink) and start over from the beginning. Just remember the rules!
THE END OF 21
Stop playing when the rules get too confusing or when everyone wants to switch to another game!
I love writing and inspiring people to play games and have a good time. For 3 years, I organized pub crawls and hosted drinking games almost every day for my guests. I also come from a big family of game enthusiasts, so you could say games are in my blood.
