Variants for Castle Panic

Welcome to Castle Panic Variant Rules!

Oblivian Forest

In this variant, I’m going to tell you about the exciting Oblivian Forest rules for Castle Panic. It’s a whole new way to play that adds an extra challenge to the game.

When you set up the game, just like before, you put out the forest tiles and place the monsters. But, there’s a difference this time. When you draw a card, instead of drawing it from the normal draw pile, you draw it from the forest deck.

This means that instead of seeing which cards are next, you’ll never know until you draw them. It’s exciting and intense, because you’ll have to think on your feet and react quickly to new challenges.

To make things even trickier, you can only draw a card from the drawing pile on your turn if you defeat a monster on that turn. Otherwise, you drawn a card from the forest deck.

Keep in mind that the normal drawing pile isn’t going away, so you’ll still have to reveal monster tokens as usual.

Are you ready to explore the Oblivian Forest and take on this new challenge? It’s time to put your skills to the test and see if you can adapt to anything that comes your way. Good luck!

Village Panic

Are you looking to turn up the heat and add an extra layer of strategy to Castle Panic? Then the exciting Village Panic variant is perfect for you!

When you play this variant, you’ll set up the game just like normal. But, there’s a twist. Instead of just protecting the castle, you also have to protect the six village tokens.

If a monster reaches a village token, it is removed from the game. Once all six village tokens are gone, it’s game over. So, you’ll need to prioritize your defense and think carefully about where to place your archers, knights, and swordsman.

You’ll also have to get creative with how you use your cards. Building walls and activating special abilities can help you protect both the castle and the villages. But be careful, because some special abilities can only be used to protect the castle while others can only be used to protect the villages.

It’s a whole new level of strategic thinking that will put your decision-making skills to the test. Can you save both the castle and the villages from the onslaught of monsters?

Dark Titan

If you’re ready to take your Castle Panic game to the next level, then the Dark Titan variant is perfect for you. It introduces a powerful new enemy that will challenge even the most experienced players.

The Dark Titan is a fifth player that can be added to the game. It comes with its own deck of cards and a unique movement system that adds an extra layer of complexity.

Just like the regular monsters, the Dark Titan will move toward the castle each turn. But, unlike the regular monsters, it will also move toward the nearest player’s tower. This means that you’ll have to constantly keep an eye on the Dark Titan’s movements and adapt your strategy accordingly.

But that’s not all. The Dark Titan also comes with some powerful abilities that can wreak havoc on your defenses. It can spawn additional monsters, heal existing ones, and even destroy walls.

Defeating the Dark Titan won’t be easy, but it’s not impossible. With careful planning and teamwork, you and your fellow players can rise to the challenge and protect the castle from this formidable foe.

So, are you ready to face the Dark Titan and prove your skills as a master castle defender? The fate of the kingdom is in your hands.

When playing the Co-op version of Castle Panic, we all work together to protect the Castle. We either win or lose as a team, without a designated Master Slayer. The game follows the same rules as the Standard version, with one key difference: We don’t keep trophies of the Monsters we defeat. Instead, all defeated Monsters go into the Monster discard pile.

Playing as the Overlord

Hey there! In this version of the game, you can take on the powerful role of the Overlord. As the Overlord, your goal is to control the Monsters and unleash them on the Castle, while the other players work together to defend it.

So, who wants to be the brave Overlord? Choose a player, and let the game begin! The setup is the same as the Standard game, but there’s a twist – the Overlord doesn’t get any cards. Instead, you’ll draw a hand of 3 Monster tokens and keep them hidden from the Castle players. Sneaky, huh?

As the Overlord, your turn consists of three steps, and you must follow this order:

  1. Move Monsters: This is your chance to strategize and unleash your monstrous minions! Move the Monsters in a way that maximizes their impact on the Castle. Don’t hold back!
  2. Draw Monster Tokens: Keep your Monsters coming! Draw up to three Monster tokens to strengthen your forces. The more Monsters, the merrier!
  3. Play Monster Tokens: It’s time to bring your Monsters into action. Play the Monster tokens strategically, coordinating their attacks for maximum devastation. The Castle players won’t know what hit them!

Now you’re ready to show off your Overlord skills. Unleash the Monsters and dominate the battlefield. The Castle players won’t know what hit them!

When I play Castle, the Overlord gets to take their turn right after me. It’s like they’re replacing phases 5 and 6 of my turn. Once I’ve played my cards in phase 4, my turn is over.

Then it’s the Overlord’s turn. They start by moving the monsters on the board, and then they draw Monster tokens until they have 3 in their hand. Now, they have 2 ways to play those Monster tokens.

  1. The Overlord can choose 1 Monster from their hand and put it in any part of the Forest ring they want.
  2. Or they can choose 2 Monsters, 2 Monster Effects tokens, or 1 of each from their hand. They roll a die for each Monster, and whichever number they roll, they place that Monster in the matching numbered part of the Forest ring. They also resolve any Monster Effects tokens they played, just like normal.

Playing as the Overlord in the game, I have the option to play up to 2 tokens on my turn, but I’m not obligated to play any if I don’t want to. Keep in mind that I don’t get to choose where the Giant Boulders start – I have to roll the die like everyone else.

However, there is a special case when I play either the Draw 3 Monster tokens or Draw 4 Monster tokens token. In this situation, I get to draw that number of tokens and add them to my hand. I can then play the same number of tokens, but they don’t have to be the ones I just drew. This is the only way I can play more than 2 tokens on my turn. But, here’s the thing – any Monsters that I place at this time must be placed randomly by rolling the die. I can’t choose where they start.

The Castle card called Missing is a tricky one. When you play it, the Overlord can’t draw or play any Monster tokens. However, any Monsters already on the board can still move. It’s like a roadblock for the Overlord’s plans. It makes you wonder, what will they do without their monster army?

Now, let’s talk about the Solitaire Game. It’s a game you can play on your own. It’s a great way to challenge yourself and have fun at the same time. Just follow the rules and see how well you can do. It’s all up to you, no need to worry about anyone else. Give it a try and see if you can conquer the game all by yourself. You might surprise yourself with how well you can do.

Did you know that Castle Panic can be played all by yourself? Yep, you heard it right. You can enjoy this fantastic game without needing any friends to join you.

Just like the regular version, the solo game follows all the standard rules. However, there’s a slight twist. Instead of dealing yourself a usual hand of 5 cards, you’ll get 6 cards. Plus, when you want to change things up, you have the option to discard 2 cards and draw 2 new ones, instead of just 1.

But fair warning, playing Castle Panic alone can be quite the challenge! You’ll need to strategize, plan your moves, and have quick thinking to defeat those pesky monsters all on your own.
