As you play your first game, you have the option of introducing special enemy cards to the mix.
To do this, simply take six cards of one particular special enemy and include them in the enemy deck. After that, create three stacks of equal size and place the Master of Shadows card in the middle stack.
When you want to incorporate special enemy cards for the first time, it’s recommended to start with the six dragon cards. In the next game, you can add the six phantom cards. And finally, in the following game, introduce the six giant cards.
If you decide to play with a special enemy, you have the option of selecting “The Sword of Saints” (which contains six power stones) or “The Crown of Kings” (which contains seven power stones) for the adventure board at the start of the game.
So, once you’ve managed to beat the game with just one set of special enemy cards, you can level up your challenge by adding two or even all three types of special enemies. Cool, right?

Dragons are wild and can cause serious damage, but every now and then, luck is on your side and their attack fails.
When a dragon appears, it goes after all the dice in the territories and the Vortex of Resurrection that match the number in the top right corner of its card.

Remember: On the desert territory’s A-side, only the dice in the second and third sections are safe.
All the targeted dice are immediately moved to the Vortex of Oblivion. The dragon’s card is then discarded, placed face up in the discard pile on the card holder next to the enemy deck, and is out of play for good.
If there are no dice to remove, nothing happens this time around. You lucked out!
