Discover the Different Locations in The Gallerist
Hey there! I wanted to share some awesome information about the amazing game called The Gallerist. Are you ready to dive into the world of art and creativity with me? Let’s go!
In this game, you’ll get to explore various locations that play a vital role in your journey as a gallerist. These locations are like different pieces of a puzzle, each offering unique opportunities and challenges to keep you on your toes. By understanding and utilizing these locations effectively, you can create a successful art gallery empire!
Let’s start by talking about “The Main Street.”
The Main Street
Ah, Main Street! This is where it all begins, where the heart of your gallery beats. Imagine vibrant streets filled with art lovers, collectors, and tourists excitedly exploring what your gallery has to offer. From here, you’ll have access to other important locations, such as the International Market, the Reserve, and the Auction House.
As you venture into the Main Street, you’ll notice a constant flow of people, each with their unique preferences and desires. Your job is to attract these visitors to your gallery and make them fall in love with the art you have curated. But how do you accomplish that?
By utilizing the right marketing strategy, you can pique their interest and draw them towards your gallery. The Main Street offers various promotional spaces where you can place promotional materials to grab attention. Remember, captivating advertisements and carefully placed billboards are your keys to success!
Now that you understand the significance of the Main Street, let’s explore the other essential locations.
The International Market
Welcome to the International Market! This bustling hub is filled with artists, dealers, and art collectors from all around the world. It’s a melting pot of creativity and opportunity.
Here, you can discover talented artists, acquire their unique artwork, and add them to your gallery’s collection. Building relationships with these artists and strategically selecting their work will elevate your gallery’s reputation.
But be careful! The market is competitive, and you must carefully consider the demand, price, and potential buyers before making any decisions. Think of it as a dance, where you need to balance art and commerce to strike the right chord.
The Reserve
Ah, the Reserve. This is your secret weapon, a treasure trove of contemporary art waiting to be discovered. The Reserve is where you’ll find hidden gems, emerging artists, and avant-garde masterpieces that can set your gallery apart from the rest.
Explore the Reserve and take risks by investing in unconventional artworks. By showcasing these unique pieces, you can capture the attention of the art community and establish a reputation as a gallery with an eye for innovation.
The Auction House
Last but not least, we have the Auction House. Here, the thrill of bidding and the excitement of competitive buying and selling create an electrifying atmosphere.
Participating in auctions can be a game-changer for your gallery. You can acquire prestigious artworks, attract influential collectors, and secure your spot in the art market. But remember, strategy is key. Study the market trends, analyze your competition, and place smart bids to come out on top.
So there you have it! We’ve explored some of the crucial locations in The Gallerist: The Main Street, the International Market, the Reserve, and the Auction House. Each of these locations offers its own set of challenges and rewards.
Now it’s up to you to immerse yourself in this vibrant world of art, make strategic decisions, and create a gallery that stands the test of time.
Enjoy your journey, and may your gallery become a masterpiece in its own right!
When you start a game, there are 8 Artists, but only one of them is available to create Works of Art right away. This Artist is face-up and ready to go. The other Artists are hidden and need to be discovered. I’ll show you how:
- First, pick one undiscovered artist tile from the facing-down pile.
- Gain the bonus shown on the artist bonus tile, then put the bonus tile in the game box.
- If you have red artists, move the white collector visitor from the artist tile to the plaza.
- Turn the artist tile face-up.
- Put a fame marker on the brown space of the fame track on the artist tile.
- Move one signature token from that artist onto the commission space at the bottom of the art value track on your board.
Commission Space:
Did you know that there’s a limit to the number of commissions a Player can have? Yep, it’s true!
You see, as an Artist, if I already have a Signature token on my commission space, I can’t go and discover another Artist. And not only that, I can’t get another Signature token from the same Artist either. It’s a once-in-a-while opportunity, you know.
But hey, there’s still something I can do – I can buy and exhibit a Work of Art! Sounds exciting, doesn’t it?
Hey there, check this out!
You can use this action to buy a Work of Art and show it off in your very own Gallery. The price of the artwork is the same as the Artist’s current Fame, unless you have a commission to discover that Artist.
If you have a commission, the cost of the artwork will be the same as the Artist’s starting Fame.
Did you know that artists can only have two works on the market simultaneously? It’s true! This limitation is represented by what we call Signature tokens. When both of these tokens are removed from an artist, they are no longer able to create a new work of art (unless it’s a commission) until one of their previous works is sold.
A Note on Commissions:
If you discover an Artist and commission a piece, you can’t purchase another artwork from them until you’ve bought the commissioned work. However, you are allowed to have two pieces from the same Artist.
Here’s how you can buy a Work of Art:
- When you’re ready to choose an artist, make sure they have an available Signature token or a commission you’ve already given them. The work they create will come from the top tile of the corresponding Work of Art stack.
- After that, move all the Visitors from the Work of Art to the Plaza.
And here’s an important reminder: The Signature tokens are really important in this game, and knowing when to take them can make or break your success.
- If you’re commissioning a work, the price will be the initial Fame of the artist;
- If it’s not a commission, the price will be the artist’s current Fame.
You can use your Influence to get some money.
When I create a work of art, it can boost my reputation and make me more famous. The amount of fame I gain depends on the value of the art piece. In addition, for every collector who owns my artwork, I earn an extra point of fame. So, having collectors in my gallery is a great way to increase my fame.
If I want to gain even more fame, I can use my influence. This means that I can use my connections and relationships with influential people to promote my art and gain recognition. By leveraging my influence, I can elevate my reputation and become even more well-known in the art world.
So, it’s important for me to take into account the value of my artwork and the number of collectors in my gallery. These factors determine the amount of fame I can achieve. By understanding the impact of these factors and utilizing my influence effectively, I can maximize my fame and establish myself as a prominent artist.
When you’re searching for a piece of art, it can be a tough decision. There are so many options and factors to consider. As an art enthusiast, I know how important it is to find the right piece that speaks to you. With that in mind, let me share with you the significance of choosing the perfect work of art for your collection.
One of the main benefits of acquiring art is the personal connection it creates. Each piece of artwork tells a story and evokes emotions, allowing you to express yourself in a unique way. When you find a work of art that resonates with you, it can become a source of inspiration and a reflection of your own identity.
Another advantage of collecting art is its ability to engage and challenge your mind. Art has the power to make you think, question, and interpret. By immersing yourself in different artistic styles, you can broaden your perspective and enhance your critical thinking skills. It can also be a great conversation starter, allowing you to share your passion with others.
Art also has the incredible ability to enhance and transform the spaces we inhabit. Whether it’s a home, office, or public setting, the right piece of art can elevate the atmosphere and create a unique ambiance. It adds character, beauty, and a sense of individuality to any environment.
Lastly, let’s not forget the value art can bring to your life. Beyond the aesthetic pleasure it provides, art can appreciate in value over time. By investing in artwork, you not only surround yourself with beauty but also potentially create a valuable asset. It’s a win-win situation!
So, when you’re searching for the perfect work of art for your collection, remember to take into account the personal connection it creates, the mental stimulation it offers, the transformative power it holds, and the potential value it may bring. By following your intuition and exploring various artists and styles, you’ll discover the piece that speaks to you and enriches your life.
And remember, when you find that special piece, don’t hesitate to add it to your collection. A work of art is not just a purchase; it’s an investment in your own happiness and self-expression.
- Gains the tickets depicted on the Work of Art.
- Moves the Work of Art to the leftmost empty slot in the Player’s Gallery and turns it face down (display side). If the Player has no available slot, a Work of Art cannot be bought.
4th Art Gallery Slot:
Did you know that the 4th slot in your Art Gallery is only open when you have a Masterpiece on display? It’s true! So, if you’re currently exhibiting one of your best works, you get an extra space to showcase another piece of art. Isn’t that exciting?
When I play the game, I like to move the Signature token. It starts on the Artist tile or the commission space if it’s a commissioned work. I move it to the right of my Art value track. The position where I place it matches the Artist’s star rating. I can find the star rating either under or before the Fame marker position.
Hey there! Let me explain how this works. So, I’m going to show you a really cool trick that involves a bag and a work of art. Here’s what you need to do:
First, take a look at the work of art. You’ll notice that it has some tickets depicted on it. These tickets represent the number of visitors you need to place on the work of art.
Next, grab that bag filled with random visitors and start placing them on the work of art. Make sure you put the same number of visitors as the tickets shown on the work of art. If you run out of visitors in the bag, just place as many as you can.
It’s a really simple concept, but it can create some interesting results. Give it a try and see what happens!
If you have a Reputation tile, you can use it by placing it on top of a displayed Work of Art. This needs to be done before you finish your turn. After that, you should move the tile onto one of the empty Reputation spaces on your Player board. This will give you a bonus that is printed on that space, not the tile itself. Additionally, you need to move one Visitor from your Lobby back to the Plaza, but only if you have any visitors left.
Keep in mind that each player can only do this once per game since they only have one Reputation tile on their 3rd slot.
It’s important to note that if you don’t have any empty Reputation spaces on your Player board, you should discard the Reputation tile back into the game box.
Now let’s talk about the Sales Office.
The Sales Office is represented by this image:
In the Sales Office, you have the option to take the action called “Sign A Contract.”
You gotta have contracts if you wanna sell your Works of Art.
So, here’s how it works: you can snatch up one of those shiny contract cards from the display and pop it onto your own Player board.
But hold up, there’s a lil’ twist. Before you do that, you can draw 4 fresh contracts from the deck and plop ’em on top of the four current ones. The old contracts don’t disappear; they just get covered by the new ones.
Now, once you’ve got those new contracts in sight, you can choose not to grab one if you want – although, personally, I wouldn’t recommend that. The whole point is to score big, right?
Alright, so the contract you do pick goes right on your Player’s board. You can put it in an empty contract spot or stack it on top of a contract you’ve already completed (the ones that are face-down).
If you drop a contract into an empty slot, you get the ticket shown on the slot. Easy money, huh? Those tickets come from the box office.
When a slot has already been filled, I’ll place the fulfilled contract face up on the discard pile next to the contract deck, and then I’ll put the new contract in that slot. But remember, you don’t get the ticket printed on the slot a second time.
If there was an Assistant on the flipped order card, I’ll send them back home.
Hey, listen up: If you have three unfulfilled contract cards on your Player board, you can’t sign a new contract. That means you can’t take a new contract card.
Running Out of Contracts
If I run out of cards to draw (either because I need to fill an empty space or because I’m drawing 4 new cards) I’ll shuffle the discards with the contracts in the display. Then I’ll make a new deck, draw 4 new contracts, and put them in the display.
Once you have finished the task, and there’s an open spot in the contracts display, just grab a new card from the deck and put it face-up in the empty spot.
Action: Selling an Artwork
When I was working as an Art dealer, it was finally time to start making some serious money.
So here’s the deal: when you have a contract card facing up on your Player board and a masterpiece of the same type in your Gallery, you’re ready to sell that beauty.
Remember the Collectors Rule:
Hey there! I have an important tip for you. After making a sale, you can add one more Collector to your Gallery. Keep an eye out for this symbol in your Gallery on the game board.
When you want to sell a Work of Art, just follow these steps:
- You’ll receive some money that matches the position of the Signature token on the Art Value track.
- Take the matching art form of the Work of Art from your Gallery and place it next to your Player board.
- If there are any empty spots in your Gallery, you can move any other Work of Art to the left to fill those gaps.
- Return the Signature token to the space next to the appropriate Artist tile.
- If you have any Visitors in your Gallery, you can move one of them to the Plaza.
- Flip the contract card face-down. If there was an Assistant on the order card, they’ll return home (Going Home – check page 6 for more details).
When I flip the card, I need to make sure that the top half matches the type of Visitor that I moved in step 5. If I moved an Influence Visitor (VIP), then the top half should match the Influence symbol. If I moved an Investor, then the top half should match the Investment symbol. However, if I moved a Collector, or if there was no Visitor to move, I can choose either orientation for the card.
It’s important to note that I won’t receive the bonus right away when I flip the card. I will have to take an Executive Action later on to claim it.
Remember, these steps are crucial for the game and following them correctly will make a big difference in your strategy. So, pay attention and have fun playing!

When it comes to a Player’s Gallery, it’s important to remember that if there are two Works of the same art form by different artists, it doesn’t really matter which one you choose to sell.
However, if you like, you can use the red and blue tiles provided to track the works created by each artist, adding a thematic touch to your Gallery.

Action: Hire Assistants
I’m here to help you out.
If you want to hire Assistants, you can bring them into your office. You can only hire as many Assistants as you have empty desks, and that’s a maximum of 4. The cost for each Assistant is shown on your Player board, and as more people get hired, the cost goes up. Here’s how you can hire Assistants:
- Choose up to 4 Assistants from the top of your unemployment queue and place them at the empty desks in your office.
- Pay the cost for each Assistant, which you can find next to their space. If you don’t have enough money, you can use your Influence instead.
- Get any hiring bonus shown next to the Assistant’s space. It could be tickets, Influence, or money.
Example: I really need some more help in my office, so I want to hire more Assistants. Right now, I have one Assistant already, which means I can hire up to three more. I think I’ll go ahead and hire two new Assistants. It will cost me 3 money, but I think it will be worth it. Plus, when I hire the new Assistants, I’ll also get a brown ticket, which is a nice bonus!
Action: Promote Artist
When it comes to promoting an artist and getting their work noticed, there are several key strategies that can be highly effective. In today’s digital age, social media platforms have become essential tools for artists to connect with their audience and gain exposure. By leveraging the power of social media, you can elevate your art to new heights and reach a wider audience than ever before.
One of the key aspects to consider when promoting your work as an artist is the importance of authenticity. In a world saturated with content, it’s crucial to stay true to yourself and your unique artistic voice. By sharing your authentic self and telling your story, you create a personal connection with your audience that can be incredibly powerful.
In addition to being authentic, it’s vital to be consistent in your efforts to promote your work. Regularly posting and engaging with your audience will keep you at the forefront of their minds and help build a loyal following. By showing up consistently, you show that you are committed to your art and dedicated to connecting with your audience.
Another strategy that can be highly effective in promoting your work is collaborating with other artists and influencers. By reaching out and building relationships with like-minded individuals, you can tap into their audience and gain exposure to new demographics. Collaborations can take many forms, from joint art projects to guest blogging or social media takeovers. By working together, you can amplify each other’s reach and create a mutually beneficial partnership.
In today’s fast-paced digital world, it’s also important to engage with your audience directly. Responding to comments, messages, and emails shows that you value and appreciate your audience’s support. By engaging with your audience, you build a personal connection and foster a sense of community around your art.
Moreover, it’s crucial to make use of visual storytelling to captivate your audience. Images and videos can be incredibly powerful tools in conveying your message and evoking emotion. Whether it’s through behind-the-scenes glimpses of your creative process or showcasing your finished art in stunning visuals, visual storytelling can help create a memorable and engaging experience for your audience.
Remember, promoting your art is not just about sharing your work, but also about building relationships and connecting with your audience. By staying authentic, consistent, and engaged, you can effectively promote yourself as an artist and create a lasting impact. So, take action and start promoting your art today.
Get ready to make an Artist more famous with media promotion!
When you look at an Artist’s tile, you’ll see a level that represents their current media promotion. To boost this level by 1, simply follow these steps:
When I level up an Artist, there are a few steps to follow. First, I need to spend Influence points equal to the new level of the Promotion token. Then, I return the current Promotion token, if there is one, to the correct space on the game board. After that, I place the next level of Promotion token onto the Artist. It’s worth noting that if there are no Promotion tokens of the new level available, I can’t take this action.
Once the new Promotion token is in place, I earn a bonus that is shown above the Promotion token space on the board. It could be any of the following: 1 Ticket, Influence points, 2 different Tickets, an Investment, or a Visitor. This is a nice reward for leveling up my Artist!
But that’s not all. Leveling up the Artist also increases their Fame. They automatically gain 1 point of Fame, plus an additional point for each Collector in my Gallery. If I have some extra Influence points, I can even use them to gain more Fame.
Example: Hey there! Right now at Orange, we’re showcasing an amazing painting from a super talented artist. The plan is to eventually sell this work of art and make the artist even more famous, boosting the value of their creations. Sounds awesome, right? But to make it happen, we need to amp up their influence.
Currently, the media promotion level of the artist is at 2, so here’s what’s going down: I’m gonna spend 3 Influence and trade in the level 2 token. Then, I’m grabbing a level 3 marker from the board and placing it on the artist’s tile. Boom!
Oh, and there’s more! Not only do I get the bonus tickets as shown on the board, but the artist’s fame also shoots up by 2 spaces. One point for being displayed, and an extra point because I have a collector in my gallery. Sweet deal, right?
#image.jpgGrowing Your Reputation Abroad
When it comes to impressing international visitors and snagging valuable art pieces, sending your Assistants on a mission is key.
Imagine this Location as a lively market, bustling with opportunities. The market is divided into two sections: the upper section with four rows and the lower section with three rows, each split into three columns.
Now, let’s talk about the two actions you can take here: increasing your Reputation with foreign Visitors and participating in an epic auction. Each action has its own dedicated section of the market table. However, there’s one important rule that applies to both actions:
To get access to a column, you need to meet the requirement specified at the top of the table, under Visitors in your Lobby. Visitors in your Gallery don’t count.
The first column requires one Visitor of any color.
The second column requires one Investor and one VIP.
The third column requires one Collector and either one Investor or one VIP.
So, if you have all three types of Visitors in your Lobby, you can access all columns.
Action: Grab a Reputation Tile
Hey there! Let’s talk about one of the most exciting things you can do in this game – grabbing a Reputation Tile. Trust me, you’re going to love this!
So, here’s the deal. In order to grab a Reputation Tile, you have to make some decisions. It’s like a little puzzle that you need to solve. First, you have to think about what kind of tile would be the most beneficial for you. There are different types of tiles, each with its own advantages.
Next, you need to consider the other players. Are they also going for the same tile? If so, you might want to come up with a plan to beat them to it. Remember, it’s a competition, so you have to be strategic.
Once you’ve made your decision, it’s time to take action. Reach out and grab that Reputation Tile! But be careful, because once you take a tile, it’s gone. You can’t go back and change your mind, so make sure you’re making the right choice.
Now, let’s talk about why grabbing a Reputation Tile is so important. Well, it can really give you a boost in the game. It can help you earn more points, gain new abilities, or even unlock special bonuses. Plus, it just feels good to have a shiny new tile in your collection.
So, remember, when it’s your turn to take a Reputation Tile, think carefully, plan ahead, and grab that tile with confidence. It’s your chance to shine and show everyone what you’re made of. Good luck!
Imagine yourself rubbing shoulders with foreign dignitaries in the glamorous world of international art.
This move is available in the top four rows of the International Market table. You get to pick a Reputation tile from a column and row that you have access to.
In order to gain access to a particular row, you must have either exhibited or sold a corresponding piece of artwork, which is shown to the left of the row.
Once you have confirmed that you have access to the desired column and row, you need to follow these steps:
- You earn the Influence points displayed above the chosen column (3, 2, 1).
- You take the Reputation tile from the chosen space and place it on any empty Reputation space on your own Player board. By doing this, you immediately receive the benefit associated with the covered space, but not the tile itself.
I’ll rewrite the given text for you, incorporating a distinct voice and maintaining the original meaning. Here’s the revised version:
- I can move a Visitor from my Lobby to the Plaza, if there are any. Don’t forget to check the reminder on my Player board. #image.jpg
- I can place one of my Assistants on an empty Reputation space on the table. I can take the Assistant from either my office or a Location. But remember, only one Assistant can occupy each space.
#image.jpg
If you haven’t gotten a Work of Art yet, you can’t choose this action. It’s off-limits until you have something to offer.
But that’s not the only restriction. If you don’t have any empty spots for your reputation on your Player board, you won’t be able to make this move either. So make sure you have room before you even consider it.
When you place an assistant in the International Market, they stay there for the entire game. They might not seem like a big deal at first, but trust me, they play a crucial role in the final scoring. So keep them in mind.
Action: Wanna Bid on Some Famous Art?
Get ready to participate in an international Art auction and have a chance to win a highly valuable Work of Art!
For this exciting event, we will be focusing on the lower three rows of the International Market table. To ensure you have access to the correct column, follow these steps:
- First, gain the Influence that is shown above the column (it could be 3, 2, or 1).
- Next, choose a row and pay the offer value indicated to the left of the row. It could be 1, 3, or 6 money.
- Then, take the bonus that is shown on the space you selected.
- Last but not least, place one of your Assistants onto the space. You can either choose one from your office or use one from a Location.
If you need more information about the bonuses, you can find explanations on the Player aid.
The Assistants you place on the lower three rows of the table are extremely important for end-of-game scoring. Not only do they contribute to majorities, but they also play a role in determining which Players will be awarded the prestigious Works of Art.
