The Objective

The goal of the game is to score as many points as possible by completing different challenges. You’ll be using dice, cards, and even the force to achieve victory. May the force be with you!

Setting Up

To start playing, follow these steps:

1. Place the cards in a pile, face-down.
2. Give each player a score sheet and a pencil.
3. Choose a player to go first, and the game begins!

Gameplay

When it’s your turn, roll the dice up to three times. Your goal is to match the symbols on the dice to the symbols on the cards.

If you roll a character symbol, try to find the card with the same character. Collect the card and place it face-up in front of you. You’ll earn points for every card you collect.

If you roll a spaceship symbol, pick a card with a spaceship and collect it. Spaceships are worth more points!

The lightsaber symbol is special! Pick a card with the lightsaber symbol and collect it to get bonus points.

The Endgame

Once all the cards are collected, the game is over. Now it’s time to tally up your score. Add up the points for each card you collected. The player with the highest score wins!

Set up the game by giving each player 5 scoring tokens of the same color. Keep in mind that in games with 2 or 3 players, there will be extra scoring tokens that won’t be used.

Next, place the 5 labeled dice into the dice cup and make sure the scoreboard is easily accessible to all players.

Now, let’s get to the fun part – game play!

Let’s talk about an exciting game called Dice Match Star Wars! The goal is to score the most points by rolling the dice and matching as many Star Wars characters as you can. It’s all about the luck of the roll!

Alright, here’s how it works. We take turns rolling the dice, and on each turn, you can roll up to 3 times. The more characters you match, the higher your score! Easy enough, right?

To decide who goes first, the youngest player takes the lead. From there, we keep the game going in a clockwise direction. It’s important to keep the order flowing smoothly.

The number of players determines the number of turns each of us will have. Let me break it down for you:

• For a 2-player game, we each get 5 turns. That means we use all 5 character tokens.
• Got three players? In that case, we each have 4 turns. We’ll use 4 character tokens.
• If we’re playing with 4 players, get ready for 3 turns each. Use those 3 character tokens wisely!
• Here’s how each turn goes: First, roll all 5 dice and see what comes up.
• Next, set aside any dice that you want to keep. Those are the ones you’ll use to match characters.
• But wait, there’s more! Keep an eye out for the special Yoda and Darth Vader dice. They have their own special rules. We’ll go over those separately.

When it’s your turn, you have a few options. You can stop rolling and score after your first or second roll, or you can keep rolling up to 3 times in the hope of getting a higher score. It’s all up to you!

You’ve got yourself a roll of dice! Specifically, 2 of them are Princess Leia dice, 1 is Luke Skywalker, 1 is Chewbacca, and 1 is R2-D2.

Now, here’s what I did. I put aside the 2 Princess Leia dice and gave the remaining 3 dice another roll, crossing my fingers for more Princess Leia dice.

Let’s see what happens on the second roll!

So, this time around, I went ahead and rolled 3 Han Solo dice. Gotta mix things up a bit, right?

Now, here’s where it gets interesting. I thought, why not switch to Han Solo and try my luck again? So I swapped out the 2 Princess Leia dice and gave it one last shot. Let’s see what happens!

Alright, it’s time for the final roll:

I just rolled the dice for the third time, and guess what? I got one more Han Solo! Now I have a total of 4 Han Solo dice after only 3 rolls! Can you believe it? It’s like my luck just keeps getting better and better!

Here’s what you do: put your Han Solo token on the Han Solo space in the number 4 column.

Score:

• Add up the character dice that match what you want to keep.
• Put your matching character token from your set on the scoreboard in the right row and column number.
• That’s it! Your turn is done.

Special Dice

Yoda

Did you know that if you roll a Yoda, he becomes a wild card? This means that he can be counted as any character!

Let me explain with an example. Imagine you roll 3 Luke Skywalkers, 1 Yoda, and 1 Han Solo. In this case, you can consider Yoda as another Luke Skywalker, another Han Solo, or even any other character you prefer!

But what about Darth Vader?

Uh-oh, looks like you landed on Darth Vader!

I’m sorry, but you can’t use this die again on your turn.

How Tokens Work

• Once you place a token on a scoreboard space, it can’t be moved.
• Remember, only one token is allowed per scoring space!
• If the space you want is already taken, you’ll have to pick the next available space to the left on that character’s row.
• If you make a mistake, no worries! You can roll again, just make sure to keep track of your remaining tokens.

Remember: The more character scoreboard spaces are taken, the less chance you’ll have to score high! Try rolling for characters that give you the best shot at earning some points!

Let’s see how you score:

Imagine you’re playing a game with a friend. You’re the Blue Player, and your friend is the Green Player. You roll 5 Chewbacca dice!

But wait, you can’t score all 5 Chewbacca dice because your friend has already scored there. However, you can still score 4 Chewbacca dice!

Scoring Zero

If, after your third roll, you can’t place a token on the scoreboard, you have to score a zero.

Simply take one of your remaining tokens and place it in the corresponding row in the 0 column.

Any token placed here will score zero points.

• For example, let’s say you’re the blue player and you have one Han Solo token left.
• If, on your third roll, you rolled 3 Leia dice and 2 Han Solo dice, but the yellow and green players have already scored and placed their Han Solo tokens in the 1 and 2 columns, you MUST place your Han Solo token in the matching space of the 0 column and score zero.

To score ZERO, put your token on the character’s spot in the 0 column.

Remember: Two or more players CAN put their tokens on the SAME character space in the 0 column.

Game Over

So, here’s the deal: when we’re all done taking our turns and keeping score, we gather up our scores by adding up the numbers in each column above our game pieces. That’s how we figure out who has the most points: the player with the highest total wins, simple as that!

Now, there might be a case where two or more players end up with the same total scores. What do we do then? Well, we don’t want any arguments, so here’s the solution: all those players roll all 5 dice once more, and the one who gets the most Yoda dice wins the tie! Pretty neat, huh?

Variants

Oh, and by the way, if you’re looking for some extra fun, there are some variations you can try out. Let me tell you about one – it’s called “Han Solo Play.” Sounds exciting, right? In this version, it’s all about playing solo, just like Han Solo. Basically, you’re on your own, trying to beat your own scores and see how high you can get. It’s a great way to challenge yourself and really test your skills. So give it a shot and see how you do!
