Getting Started

To start the game, we need to prepare the cards. Shuffle them and put them in one big pile, facing up. Make sure everyone can see the cards.

When we place the card pile down, I’ll cover the top card with my hand so that no one can cheat by looking!

Once we’re all ready, I’ll remove my hand, and the game will begin!

How to Play

  1. All of us will look at the card on top of the pile and try to read and say the word in the black ring on the outside as quickly as possible.

Remember: Every game starts with a card that has a black ring.

Ending the Game

The first player to collect 10 cards will be the winner!

Here’s an example round:

  1. When I play this game, I start by looking at the word in the black ring.
  2. Then, I’m the first to shout out “CALORIES!”
  3. If I win the card, I flip it over to see the color Red.
  4. Once that happens, it’s a race for everyone to read the word in the Red ring.

If two or more of us shout the right word at the same time:

  1. In that situation, we’ll have a tie-breaker round.
  2. We’ll take the current card and put it facedown next to the stack of cards.
  3. Those of us who tied will compete as usual, but now we’ll use the color on the newly revealed card to decide which color ring we need to look at in order to call out the next word.
  4. The winner of this round gets both cards and puts them facedown in their pile.
  5. We’ll resume playing as normal, using the color on the back of the winner’s last card to determine which word we’ll read next.
  6. If there is a tie for the last card in the stack, the game ends. Nobody wins that card.

Need help?

If all of us are stuck on the same word, we’ll discard the card and search for the word in the same color ring on the next card in the stack.
