Getting Set Up

How to Play the Game

Let’s talk about how to play the game! It’s really simple and lots of fun. First, we’ll need a deck of playing cards and some question cards.

Here’s how it works: we take turns playing, and the person keeping score goes first. On your turn, you’ll take the top card from the deck of playing cards.

The suit of the card determines the category of the question you’ll be asked. You have a choice to make – do you want to go for one point or three points?

Next, another player will read you the question that matches the category of the card you drew. If you answer the question correctly, the person keeping score will write down the number of points you earned.

If you answer the question wrong, your turn is over, and it’s the next person’s turn.

Keep all the playing cards you draw throughout the game because they will determine your final score.

What about Jokers?

Jokers are special cards that can mix things up a bit. There are two kinds of jokers – red and black.

• Red Joker – If you draw a red joker, it’s your lucky day! You get to choose the category and point value of the question. And if you answer correctly, you score double the points!
• Black Joker – If you draw a black joker, it’s a bit trickier. You have to answer a question from each category, and your total score will be the average of your scores for all categories.

With this game, you have the chance to showcase your knowledge and have some fun at the same time. Let’s dive into the rules and see what options you have!

Blue – The choice is yours in this category. You get to pick the point value for the question. But be careful! If you answer correctly, you’ll score double the points, but if you get it wrong, you’ll lose double the points. Watch out, as your score can even go negative! Yellow – Here’s your chance to choose a one-point question from any category. If you answer correctly, you’ll score a point. But if you answer incorrectly, you’ll lose half of your total points for the game. Just keep in mind, if you have an odd number of points, round down your total by one. Green – Once again, you’re in control of the category and point value. If you answer the question correctly, you’ll win the points. But here’s the twist, the points you win or lose will be based on the previous player’s score. So choose wisely! If you get it wrong, you’ll score or lose the same points as the previous player.

And that’s it! Those are your three options for this game. Remember, using your knowledge is just as important as taking risks. So go ahead, have some fun, and let the game begin!

End of the Game

When you’ve collected all the Playing Cards, add up the numbers on each card. The numbered cards are worth their face value, so if you have a 4 of Hearts, that’s worth 4 points. Jacks are worth 11 points, Queens are worth 12 points, Kings are worth 13 points, and Aces are worth a whopping 14 points!

The Jokers, however, don’t count for anything. They’re just there to throw a little chaos into the mix.

Once you’ve tallied up the points from your Playing Cards, add them to the score you’ve earned from answering questions. Now, here’s where things get really interesting. If you have the highest total score overall, you get to rise above the rest. You not only get bragging rights, but you also get to add 5 more points to your grand total. But wait, there’s more! If there’s a tie for the highest score, all the tied players get to add 5 extra points to their totals. It’s like a little bonus to keep things exciting!

Now, all that’s left is to see who comes out on top. If you have the highest grand total, congratulations! Consider yourself a true Sybarite, the ultimate champion of the game. You’ve earned it!
