Game Setup

To set up the game, divide the players into teams of two or more. Each team will need one mouthpiece, which should be placed in the mouth before it’s time to start speaking. Make sure everyone has a good view of the phrase cards.

Gameplay

When it’s your turn to speak, you’ll draw a phrase card and read the phrase out loud. The catch is, you’ll be wearing the mouthpiece, which can make it challenging to speak clearly. Your teammates have to listen closely and try to guess what you’re saying before the timer runs out.

Getting Ready to Play

1. To prepare, hold the mouthpiece with the wider side of the curved wings closest to your mouth.
2. With both hands, grab onto the curved handle of the mouthpiece.
3. Gently slide one of the wings between your lips and teeth on one side, making sure it touches the inside of your cheek. Remember not to bite down.
4. Curve the handle until the other wing is near the first one in your mouth.
5. Repeat the sliding motion to insert the second wing into place.
6. Let go of the handle once the mouthpiece is comfortably resting in your mouth.

Note: Follow these instructions to use the mouthpiece correctly and remove it from your mouth after your turn is over.

How to Play the Game

When it’s my turn, I put the mouthpiece in my mouth. When I’m ready, I flip the sand timer over.

I pick a card from the deck and read it out loud. My teammates need to guess what I’m saying correctly so we can win the card. I can keep saying the phrase until they get it right. I can also use hand gestures to help, but no miming!

Once my teammates guess the phrase correctly, I put the card in front of me. I then draw another card and keep playing until the timer runs out.

I have the option to skip a phrase, but if I do, the other team can earn that card.

When the timer runs out, I take out the mouthpiece, keep the cards my teammates earned, and give any skipped cards to the other team.

Now it’s the other team’s turn. Once each player has had two turns, the game is over.
