3. Warning of Detection: When a player detects another player’s gesture, they must subtly point at them without raising suspicion. This warns the caught player that they have been detected. If a player is caught, they are out of the game.

Before We Start

There are 10 different types of farts in the deck, each represented by four different colors: blue, yellow, red, and purple.

In addition to regular cards, there are special-play cards that add some special rules. For example, cards like “Silent But Deadly,” “Baked Beans,” and “Cabbage” make players pick up extra cards. On the other hand, cards like “Light a Match” cancel out the effects of the “Pick Up” cards. We’ll go into more detail about these special cards later in the instructions.

As for determining who deals the cards, the player with the “smelliest gastrointestinal issues” takes on this important role. And just like in many other card games, the player to the left of the dealer goes first. From there on, play continues clockwise around the table.

Now let’s get started! Each player starts with 7 cards. The rest of the cards should be placed face down in the center of the table to create the draw pile. Take the top card from the draw pile and turn it over—this will be the first card in the discard pile.

So here’s the deal: when I play this game, I gotta get rid of a card. How do I do that? Well, I can either match the fart type or match the color on the card that’s on top of the discard pile. Easy enough, right? Oh, and there are these special cards called Light a Match and Silent But Deadly that don’t have colors. You can play them whenever you want.

Now, if I actually have a card that matches, I gotta play it. No hoarding, okay? Can’t keep cards for later, not even those Light a Match ones. Gotta let them go.

Oh, and there’s a fun little rule: when I toss a card, I gotta say the card’s name out loud (or make a cool sound effect). It’s not a big deal if I forget, though. No penalties for that. But hey, if I can’t get rid of a card, I gotta draw one from the draw pile.

If the new card I draw can be discarded, guess what? I gotta do it! But if it can’t, the game keeps on going to the left.

And one more thing: what happens if we run out of cards in the draw pile? Simple, my friend. We shuffle the discard pile, make a fresh draw pile, and leave the top card of the discard pile visible. Ready to keep playing!

Once you’re down to your last card, remember to shout out “low on gas” before the next player throws down a card. If you forget, and just try to get rid of that final card without a warning, you’ll have to draw two more cards as a penalty. So, make sure to speak up when you’re running out of fuel!

Get Some Cards

When someone tosses away a Cabbage card, you, the person sitting on their left, picks up a card from the stack before taking your turn.

If a Baked Beans card gets discarded, you’ll have to draw two cards from the deck before it’s your go.

Oh, and if someone throws down a Silent But Deadly card, you’re in for a real treat. You’ll have to draw a whopping five cards from the deck before you can make a move. This card doesn’t have a color code, so it can be played on any card. Just a tip: the one who throws away the Silent But Deadly card has to choose a new color when the game continues.

Here’s the thing about all these “Pick Up” cards – they add up. So, let’s say Player A gets rid of a Cabbage card. Player B has to grab one card. But wait, it doesn’t stop there. If Player B then plays another Cabbage card, Player C has to snatch two cards.

If I discard the Silent But Deadly card, you’ll be the one picking up 7 cards. And there’s no limit to the number of cards you’ll have to pick up.

Keep in mind: After you pick up your penalty cards, if you can’t discard, you’ll have to draw 1 more card from the draw pile.

Here’s a Trick

The Light a Match cards can cancel out the effects of any “Pick Up” cards. These cards don’t have a color and can be played on any card. So, let’s say you need to pick up 7 cards, but I play a Light a Match card instead. No penalties for you! The game keeps going as if nothing happened. But I’ll have to pick a new color to continue.

Game Over

Once I get rid of all my cards, I win! That means you and everyone else are the losers. Sorry, no second place!
