Unlike property markers, which are not considered playing pieces, your playing piece must always be in a different building than before. There are a few exceptions to this rule:

When my turn ends, if my playing piece is on a building that belongs to another player (I can tell because their property marker is there), they immediately get 1 victory point from the supply. The game comes to an end after the 7th ship departs. At this point, I remove my screen and have the option to convert any remaining goods into victory points. For every 3 goods I return to the supply, I earn 1 victory point. Money, however, is not worth any victory points.

Once all the goods are converted, I count up my victory point markers. The player with the most victory points is declared the winner of the game.
