Setting Up the Game

To get started, each player needs to select six dice of the same color.

Next, shuffle the Roll For It! cards and place the deck face down in the middle of the table.

Deal three cards face up to all players. If you’re playing with two decks and there are five or more players, you should deal four cards instead.

Now, it’s time to determine who goes first. Each player rolls two dice, and the person with the highest total gets to take the first turn.

Playing the Game

The game begins with players taking turns rolling their dice.

1. Roll those dice! On your turn, you get to roll the dice. Keep in mind that the number of dice you can roll may change as the game goes on, so you need to manage them carefully.
2. Find the matches! Compare the results of your roll to the pictures on the Roll For It! cards that are face-up. Ignore any results that don’t match a picture. You can spread your dice out across the cards, but each die can only match one picture on one card. Place a die next to a matched card, not on it. Since everyone is competing for the same cards, multiple dice of different colors can match with one card. Once you’ve put a die next to a card, you can’t move it to another card. And remember, you can choose not to place any matching dice during your turn.

When you play Roll For It!, scoring a card is the ultimate goal. You achieve this by matching all the dice images on a card with your own dice. Remember, you can only use your own dice to score a card; you can’t rely on other players’ dice. Once you’ve made a match, the card is worth points equal to the number printed at the bottom. Place the scored card in front of you, creating a score pile that everyone can see. Don’t forget, all the dice on a scored card go back to their owners and can be used on the next turn. To keep the game moving, immediately flip a new card from the deck to replace the one you just scored. If you still have rolled dice available to match, go ahead and look at all the face-up Roll For It! cards, including the new one you flipped over, and see if any of them match your dice.

Now that you’ve rolled, matched, and scored your cards, it’s time to end your turn. Pass the play to the person on your left and watch the excitement continue!

When you roll the dice in this game, the dice that show the same number as the cards stay together. They are not separated until you score the cards or if you decide to use a special rule called Take Back at the start of your next turn.
