How to play R-Eco Official Rules

R-Eco Game Rules

Welcome to R-Eco, a game where we get to build a cleaner Earth together! Today, I’m going to explain the rules to you, so you can start playing and making a difference right away.

In this game, we have a beautiful planet Earth in front of us, represented by a 5×5 grid. Each square in the grid is a different location on Earth, and we want to keep it as clean and healthy as possible.

The game is played with cards, which have different numbers on them. These numbers represent the amount of pollution each player can clean up. Each player will have a number of cards, and they will take turns playing them.

On your turn, you can choose a square on the grid to clean up. You do this by playing a card with the corresponding number. For example, if you have a card with the number 3, you can clean up 3 units of pollution in any square you choose.

But be careful! Cleaning up pollution is important, but we can’t do it all at once. Each square has a capacity, which is the maximum amount of pollution it can handle. If you clean up more pollution than the square’s capacity, the excess pollution will overflow into neighboring squares, making them even dirtier.

So, you have to think strategically and plan your moves carefully. You don’t want to make the problem worse by cleaning up too much in one square. Instead, you want to spread out your efforts and clean up a little bit in each square to keep them balanced.

The game ends when all the squares are either clean or full of pollution. At the end, we count the number of squares that are clean and the number that are polluted. Our goal is to have as many clean squares as possible, because that means we have made a positive impact on our planet.

Remember, R-Eco is not just a game, it’s a way to learn about the importance of taking care of our Earth. By playing this game, we can develop our problem-solving skills and become more aware of how our actions can affect the environment.

I hope you’re excited to start playing R-Eco and making a difference in the world! So, grab your cards, choose a square, and let’s get started on our mission to build a cleaner and healthier Earth together.

Imagine this: when the sun goes down, the recycling center transforms into a magical place where discarded glass bottles, paper piles, plastic cups, and tin cans come alive. They team up with cockroaches, crickets, and other critters to throw a party. But when the morning light breaks, the hardworking shift workers arrive to find a big mess that needs to be sorted all over again. That’s where I come in. My job is to separate the bottles, cans, cups, and paper, and take them to the recycling factory to make some serious cash. The only problem is, sometimes I get carried away and produce too much waste, and end up disposing of it illegally. Oops! But here’s the challenge: the player who earns the most money from their waste is crowned the winner. Now, doesn’t that sound intriguing?

The Cool Stuff You Get

  • 100 garbage cards
  • 32 reward tokens
  • 4 disposal facility
  • instructions

Before We Get Started

I’m here to tell you all about R-eco cards. They’re pretty cool because they have a factory side and a money side. The cards are actually sorted by colors and stacked in a specific order with the factory side facing up. Now, the exact order of the stack depends on how many people are playing.

Let me break it down for you:

• If it’s just you and one other person, the order goes like this from top to bottom: 0, 1, 2, -2, 4, 5.

• If you have three or four players, the order is slightly different: 0, 1, 2, 3, -2, 4, 5.

• And if you’re playing with five people, it’s like this: 0, 1, 2, 3, 3, -2, 4, 5.

Alright, now that you’ve got the hang of that, let’s move on to the next part. There are four stacks of R-eco factory cards that you’ll place in the middle of the table, right next to each other. These stacks are like recycling centers, so think of them as separate stations where you can do different things.

I shuffle the “recycling” cards and place them in the middle of the table as the draw pile.

Each recycling plant gets a “recycling” card from the draw pile to add to the waste side.

Now, we all take turns drawing cards from the pile until each of us has three cards. The person who last took out the garbage goes first.

How to Play

We take turns playing in a clockwise direction, with each player completing a full turn before the next person starts.

Play one or more “recycling” cards and get a R-eco factory card if it matches
  • I can recycle waste by playing one or more “recycling” cards of the same type (color) on the recycling side of the factory.
  • I can only play “recycling” cards of one type (color) in each turn.

If you have four or more “recycling” cards on the recycling side of the factory, you’ll get the top R-eco factory card. To get this value, add up the cards you’ve already played and the ones you lay down. Note that “4” refers to the total value, not the number of cards. Remember, a single “recycling” card counts as one, while a double “recycling” card counts as two. Even if the total value is “5”, “6”, or “10”, you’ll only receive one R-eco factory card. Place the R-eco factory card with the money side facing up in front of you, organized by color. Afterward, discard all the cards from the rubbish factory pile.

If the total value of the cards on the recycling side of the factory is “1”, “2”, or “3”, you won’t receive an R-eco factory card this turn.

Now, let’s move on to taking the “waste” cards.

Let’s Check How Many Cards You Can Hold
Put Cards with a “Recycling” Symbol in the Factory Waste
  • Once all the cards from the waste side of the factory are taken away, you need to refill the waste pile by picking a certain number of cards from the deck.
  • You should draw one more card than the total value of the cards on the recycling side of the factory.
  • If the draw pile runs out, the discard pile is shuffled and used as a new draw pile.

Then it’s the next player’s turn, moving in a clockwise direction.

Game Over

The game comes to an end when a player grabs the final R-eco factory card from any of the factories.

If you happen to be that player, it’s business as usual – wrap up your turn like you always would. Just remember to draw waste cards and keep an eye on your hand limit. If you’ve got too many cards, make sure to discard the excess. Meanwhile, let’s not forget about those R-eco factory cards and the face-down cards you and the other players have gathered.

Calculating Scores

  • To earn points, you must have more than one R-eco factory card of the same color. If you only have a single R-eco factory card of a certain color, it won’t contribute to your score.
  • Take the values of all your R-eco factory cards and add them up.
  • Subtract any points for the “recycling” cards that are face-down in front of you (one point per card).

In this game, if you have any “recycling” cards facing down, you get bonus points. The number of points depends on how many other players also have face-down “recycling” cards. The more players with face-down cards, the more bonus points you get. This rule has a slight variation in games with four or five players, where you get one bonus point. If there are three players, you get two bonus points. And if there are only two players, you get three bonus points. The player with the most points is the winner. But in case of a tie, the player with the fewest hidden cards wins. If there is still a tie, all the players who tied share the victory.
