Operation Game Rules

Welcome to the world of Operation, where you get to play doctor and remove funny bones without causing any buzzers or red noses! This classic board game is all about testing your concentration and steady hand skills. It’s an exciting and challenging game that will keep you entertained for hours.

When playing Operation, the goal is simple: remove various ailments from your patient’s body without touching the metal edges of the openings. If you touch the edges, you’ll set off the buzzer and the patient’s red nose will light up, indicating a failed operation. The player who successfully removes the most ailments wins the game and becomes the champion surgeon!

During the game, you’ll use a pair of tweezers to extract each ailment from your patient’s body. As you carefully navigate the openings, you’ll need to avoid triggering the buzzer. This requires a steady hand and full concentration. The game tests your dexterity and ability to perform under pressure, making it both exhilarating and nerve-wracking.

Each ailment in the game has a different level of difficulty, so you’ll need to adjust your approach accordingly. You should start with the easier ailments, such as the wishbone or butterflies in the stomach, before moving on to more challenging ones like the Adam’s apple or Charlie horse. Remember, every false move could set off the buzzer and increase the tension!

It’s important to study the patient’s body carefully before taking action. You should familiarize yourself with the different ailments and their placements within the body. This will help you plan your moves strategically, increasing your chances of success. Don’t rush into the operation – take your time and think it through.

The operation game is not just about skill; it’s also about luck. Sometimes, your success depends on how steady your patient’s body is and how cooperative their ailments are. Don’t let frustration get in the way if you fail the operation – just pick yourself up and try again. With practice, you’ll develop the precision and coordination needed to remove even the toughest ailments.

So, are you ready to become a skilled surgeon and test your steady hands in this exciting game of Operation? Remember, the key to success is concentration, a steady hand, and strategic planning. Take a deep breath, keep your focus, and let the operation begin!

Getting Started

First, let’s prepare the game by following these steps:

  1. Take off the rubber band from the cards and put it in the gameboard cavity.
  2. Divide the cards into two groups: doctor cards and specialist cards.
  3. Shuffle the specialist cards and deal them, one by one, to each player until everyone has an equal number. Put any extra specialist cards aside.
  4. Shuffle the doctor cards and place them face-down within everyone’s reach. Choose someone to be the banker, who will give out money for successful “operations”.
  5. Put each funatomy part in its matching gameboard cavity. For example, place the heart in the broken heart cavity, and the wrench in the wrenched ankle cavity. Make sure all the funatomy parts are flat inside their cavities.

Now that everything is ready, we can start playing the game. Are you excited? Let’s go!

Let’s Play the Game!

Hey there! Are you ready to have some fun? Well, let’s get started! The first thing we need to do is choose someone to go first. It can be anyone, so pick someone you like!

Once we have our first player, the game will begin. The player who goes first will take their turn, and then the turn will pass to the person on their left. It’s like a game of hot potato, but with turns instead!

Keep playing in this order until everyone has had a chance to take their turn. Remember, it’s important to wait for your turn patiently, just like everyone else. We want to make sure everyone gets a fair shot!

So, let’s dive in and play this game together. I’m excited to see who will be the champion!

So, here’s what we do. I grab a card from the deck, and it’s all about being a doctor. It tells me I’m gonna be doing an “operation” on a certain part of the body. Oh, and it also tells me how much money I’ll make if I do it right. Let’s say I get the card about the ankle bone “operation” – the one that asks me to connect the ankle bone to the knee bone. If I pull that off, I’ll earn $200.

Caution: To successfully complete the “operation,” you need to remove the part without coming into contact with the metal edges of the opening. If you accidentally touch the edges, you’ll trigger the buzzer and Sam’s nose will light up!

  • A Successful Mission: If you successfully complete the “operation” without causing Sam’s nose to light up and the buzzer to go off, you’ve accomplished your mission! You can collect your payment from the banker. Keep the funatomy part in front of you and put the doctor card aside. Your turn is finished.
  • An Unsuccessful Mission: If you accidentally set off the buzzer and make Sam’s nose light up before completing the “operation,” your mission is considered unsuccessful. Your turn is over. Put the part back in place and keep the doctor card in front of you. Now it’s the Specialist’s turn to try!

The Specialist’s Cards

Alright, here’s how it works. We all look at our SPECIALIST cards, including you. If you happen to have the specialist card for the current “operation,” you get a chance to do that “operation” for a higher fee. Makes sense, right?

Let me give you an example to make it clearer. Say the Doctor tried to remove Sam’s ribs but failed. The specialist for the rib “operation” now has a shot at it, but for a higher fee. So instead of $200, they can charge $400!

But here’s the thing, if the specialist card for that “operation” is not available, the doctor card goes at the bottom of the deck, face down. Then it’s the next player’s turn, the one to the left of the Doctor.

  • Now, if the Specialist succeeds, they take the fee from the banker. Both the doctor card and specialist card for that “operation” are no longer in play. Then it’s the turn of the player to the left of the Doctor.

If the Specialist fails, they put the doctor card at the bottom of the deck. The Specialist keeps the specialist card. Then, it’s the turn of the player on the left of the Doctor. The game ends when all 12 “operations” are successfully performed. The player with the most money wins! Before starting, players can agree on a time limit for each “operation”. Someone keeps track of the time. To be successful, an “operation” must be completed before time runs out. You can also play the game alone.

Hey there, are you the only one playing “Doctor”? Well, get ready to test your skills on the patient! You’ll have 12 “operations” to perform, and you can tackle them in any order you like. Just remember, if an “operation” doesn’t go well, you’ll have to start all over again!

When you’re done with the game, don’t worry about the pieces. You can store them right under the gameboard. And to keep the tweezers in place, just put them on the gameboard peg, like this:
