Getting Started

- Take off the rubber band from the cards and put it in the gameboard cavity.
- Divide the cards into two groups: doctor cards and specialist cards.
- Shuffle the specialist cards and deal them, one by one, to each player until everyone has an equal number. Put any extra specialist cards aside.
- Shuffle the doctor cards and place them face-down within everyone’s reach. Choose someone to be the banker, who will give out money for successful “operations”.
- Put each funatomy part in its matching gameboard cavity. For example, place the heart in the broken heart cavity, and the wrench in the wrenched ankle cavity. Make sure all the funatomy parts are flat inside their cavities.

So, here’s what we do. I grab a card from the deck, and it’s all about being a doctor. It tells me I’m gonna be doing an “operation” on a certain part of the body. Oh, and it also tells me how much money I’ll make if I do it right. Let’s say I get the card about the ankle bone “operation” – the one that asks me to connect the ankle bone to the knee bone. If I pull that off, I’ll earn $200.
Caution: To successfully complete the “operation,” you need to remove the part without coming into contact with the metal edges of the opening. If you accidentally touch the edges, you’ll trigger the buzzer and Sam’s nose will light up!
- A Successful Mission: If you successfully complete the “operation” without causing Sam’s nose to light up and the buzzer to go off, you’ve accomplished your mission! You can collect your payment from the banker. Keep the funatomy part in front of you and put the doctor card aside. Your turn is finished.
- An Unsuccessful Mission: If you accidentally set off the buzzer and make Sam’s nose light up before completing the “operation,” your mission is considered unsuccessful. Your turn is over. Put the part back in place and keep the doctor card in front of you. Now it’s the Specialist’s turn to try!
The Specialist’s Cards
Alright, here’s how it works. We all look at our SPECIALIST cards, including you. If you happen to have the specialist card for the current “operation,” you get a chance to do that “operation” for a higher fee. Makes sense, right?
Let me give you an example to make it clearer. Say the Doctor tried to remove Sam’s ribs but failed. The specialist for the rib “operation” now has a shot at it, but for a higher fee. So instead of $200, they can charge $400!
But here’s the thing, if the specialist card for that “operation” is not available, the doctor card goes at the bottom of the deck, face down. Then it’s the next player’s turn, the one to the left of the Doctor.
- Now, if the Specialist succeeds, they take the fee from the banker. Both the doctor card and specialist card for that “operation” are no longer in play. Then it’s the turn of the player to the left of the Doctor.
If the Specialist fails, they put the doctor card at the bottom of the deck. The Specialist keeps the specialist card. Then, it’s the turn of the player on the left of the Doctor. The game ends when all 12 “operations” are successfully performed. The player with the most money wins! Before starting, players can agree on a time limit for each “operation”. Someone keeps track of the time. To be successful, an “operation” must be completed before time runs out. You can also play the game alone.
