So, we need to shuffle the deck of cards and deal a specific number of them face-down to each player. These cards will be their personal piles.

• If there are 3-4 players, they each get 8 cards.

The Rumsa Card switches up the direction of play.

The 3 Action Cards

When you put an action card down, say the chain and do the action. The action becomes part of the chain.

Stumbles

1. If you forget a word, mix up a word, pause too long, or have trouble speaking, the other players can call you out. They’ll bang both fists on the table and chant together, “Pa bo! Pa bo! Pa bo!”
2. Everyone must verify if the claim made was accurate.
3. If you made a mistake, you’ll have to take 3 cards from the chain and place them at the bottom of your own pile. Then, you’ll neatly dispose of the remaining cards in the tin.
4. If you didn’t make a mistake, the player who initiated the “pabo” chant will take 3 cards from the chain and add them to the bottom of their own pile. They’ll also dispose of the remaining cards in the tin.
5. A new round begins after a stumble is called. The player who gathered the cards in the previous round will place a card on the table to start the next round.

End of the Game

If you can add your last card to the chain and repeat all the sounds up to your own, you win the game and get to shout “Ooga booga!” instead of “Ha!”

Here’s an advanced variation you can try:

1. Ooga Dare: Players decide who goes next. On your turn, recite the chain and point to any player to pass the challenge. You can’t point to the player who just challenged you. When you lay down a rumba card, include the word in the chant without reversing the direction of play.

2. Memory Master: Play without looking at the pictures. Take turns placing your cards on top of the stack, covering it completely so you can’t see the chain.
