How to Play

The goal of the game is simple – be the first team to collect five masterpieces and emerge as the winner!

Getting Started

Hey there! Let’s get this game started, shall we?

We’re going to split into two or three teams first. Each group should have at least two players.

Now, let’s shuffle the Masterpiece Card and Inspiration Card decks separately. Keep them within easy reach of all the teams.

The team with the youngest player will kick off the game!

If there are fewer than four players, don’t worry. Just refer to the rules supplement card that’s included!

Here’s How to Play

Okay, listen up. When it’s your team’s turn to play, pay close attention!

1. Choose someone from your team to be the Muse. You can switch roles as the Muse if you want.
2. The team on your left selects 6 Masterpiece Cards and 2 Inspiration Cards.
3. The team then secretly gives one of the Masterpiece Cards and one of the Inspiration Cards to your team’s Muse.

I’m your team’s Muse, and I’ll show you the Inspiration Card. I’ll also give you a clue that will lead you to the Masterpiece Card. Just follow the instructions on the Inspiration Card.

The team sitting to your left will take the Masterpiece Card, mix it in with the other five they have, and then place all six cards face-up for everyone to see.

Game Over

The first team to collect five masterpieces wins the game.

Variant for Two or Three Players

If there are fewer than four players, you all work together to complete the Masterpieces!

The game is played as usual, with the following changes:

• I am going to tell you about a fun game called “Masterpiece”.
• In this game, one of the players is the Muse, and the other players are the artists.
• When it’s my turn to be the Muse, I get to draw one Masterpiece Card and two Inspiration Cards.
• I pick one of the Inspiration Cards to use as a clue for the artists.
• Then, the artists have to create their own versions of the masterpiece based on my clue.
• After everyone has finished their artworks, we compare them to see who came closest to my clue.
• It’s a lot of fun to see how different each person’s interpretation can be!
• We take turns being the Muse and the artists, and the game continues until everyone has had a chance to be the Muse.
• I hope you try out this game with your friends and have a great time!
