Multiuniversum Solo Rules
Introduction
Welcome! I’m here to guide you through the solo rules for the game Multiuniversum. You may have heard about this game and are eager to learn how to play it on your own. Well, you’ve come to the right place! In this guide, I will explain the rules and provide you with some helpful tips to get you started. So, let’s dive in!
Setup
To begin, you’ll need to set up the game. Place the game board in front of you and make sure you have all the required cards and tokens. Shuffle the deck of cards and place them face down on the designated area of the game board. Don’t forget to choose your starting character and place their meeple on the character card. Now, you’re ready to embark on your solo adventure!
Gameplay
As the solo player, your goal is to complete as many experiments as possible to earn victory points. You will do this by playing cards from your hand and activating their abilities. Each card represents a scientist with their own unique skill. You can play a card to use its ability or take a lab action to draw new cards or gain resources.
When playing a card, you must follow the placement rules. You can only place a card in a column or row that has the same color or number as the card you’re playing. This creates chain reactions and allows you to activate more abilities. Plan your moves carefully to maximize your efficiency!
Throughout the game, you’ll face various challenges and obstacles. The research cards will generate events that you must deal with. Some events may benefit you, while others may hinder your progress. It’s important to adapt your strategy accordingly and make the best decisions to overcome these challenges.
Scoring
At the end of the game, you will earn victory points based on the experiments you have completed and the resources you have collected. The more experiments you complete, the more victory points you’ll receive. Additionally, certain abilities and events may grant you bonus points or penalties, so be mindful of their impact on your final score.

If you want to play Multiuniversum by yourself, go ahead and give the solo play variant a try. It’s a great way to get familiar with the game rules before you explain them to your friends.
When you’re playing solo, you’ll set up the game just like you normally would. Choose a scientist marker for yourself and another one for the virtual player. Put the right lab cards on the table and place the scientists on their matching transformer cards (the cards that have the same color as each player’s marker).
But here’s the thing: the A.I. doesn’t get a hand of cards. It only gets a scientist and a lab. So don’t worry about drawing cards for it.
Okay, let’s get started with the game. First, I’ll take my turn and then it’s time for the virtual player’s turn. The virtual player doesn’t draw cards like we do. Instead, he automatically adds 2 cards as tools under his lab card. If the row of tools gets too long, he just stacks them together based on the icons.
If the virtual player can seal a portal above the transformer he’s on, he’ll do that. To seal it, he’ll discard the required tools from under his lab card and put the sealed portal card under his lab card.
Then, he’ll move his scientist marker to the next transformer in a clockwise direction and end his turn.
If the virtual player can’t seal a portal, he’ll simply move his scientist marker to the next transformer in a clockwise direction and end his turn.
End of the Game
Hey there! I’ve got an exciting game for you. It’s called “Portal Stacks,” and it’s all about speed and strategy. Pay close attention or the game will slip through your fingers!
When 3 portal stacks are emptied, the game comes to an instant end. So, keep those gears turning, or you’ll find yourself on the losing side!
Once the game is over, calculate your score as usual. But, we’re not done yet! It’s time to see how many DP (dimension points) the virtual player has managed to rack up:
- Add up the DP for all the sealed portals that the virtual player has.
- No DP is lost for unused tools by the virtual player.
- Arrange the cards in the sets of dimension icons to maximize DP.
- Now, sum up all the DP from the sources mentioned above to determine the final score.
Finally, it’s time for the big reveal – compare your score with the virtual player’s score. The player with the highest score emerges victorious!
If you’re a fan of competition, you might even want to start keeping a record of your scores! Let the games begin!
