Getting Started

First, find someone who will be the Banker. The Banker has a few key responsibilities, including managing:
- The money that belongs to the Bank
- The Bank’s headquarters
- The invention cards
- The auctions
The Banker should hand out the money to everyone playing the game.
Next, shuffle the Chance cards and put them face down on the game board.
Do the same with the Community Chest cards, placing them face down as well.
Each player gets to choose a token and put it on the GO space.
Finally, place the dice next to the game board.

How to Play the Game

Did you roll doubles?

About the Board Spaces

Inventions

Now, there are two types of inventions in this game: ones that come in fancy color sets and others that are utility inventions.

Unowned Inventions

Here’s the deal: if you happen to land on an unowned invention, you’ve got two options. You can either buy it or auction it off.

Interested in buying?

When you land on a specific space, you have to pay the price indicated on that space, and then you can get the invention card from the Bank.

Not interested in buying?

In case you don’t want to buy the invention, the Banker will hold an auction for it. The auction will start with a minimum bid of M10, and anyone can increase the bid by as little as M1. The interesting part is that you don’t have to wait for your turn to bid, and the Banker will end the auction when no one wants to offer a higher bid.

The player who makes the highest bid will have to pay the Bank that amount. But let’s say no one is interested in the invention card, that’s perfectly fine too. In this case, nobody needs to pay anything, and the invention card will remain with the Bank.

Why not try to get color sets?

When you have all the inventions in a specific color set, something exciting happens! You get a special advantage that can give you a big boost in the game. Here’s how it works:

First, by owning all the inventions in a color set, you can double the rent you collect from other players who land on those inventions. That’s like getting twice as much money for your hard work!

What Happens When Someone Else Owns an Invention?

How Can I Escape Jail?

If multiple players want to buy the last Headquarters available, it will be auctioned. The bidding starts at M10 and goes up by increments of M10. The order of turns doesn’t matter in this case. The payment goes to the Bank.

Deals & Trades

At any time, you have the option to buy, sell, or swap inventions with other players.

Inventions can be traded for money, other inventions, or Get Out of Jail Free cards. How much you get depends on the deal you make with other players.

Now, what should you do if you don’t have enough cash to pay off your debt? Well, you can try selling your inventions to raise some funds.

Here are a couple of ways to sell your inventions:

1. Sell your inventions back to the Bank at their face value, or sell them to another player at a price you both agree on.

2. If you have Headquarter buildings, you can sell your inventions along with the Headquarter. You can sell them back to the Bank at the price of the rent for one Headquarters, or to another player at a price you both agree on. And don’t worry, the Headquarters will stay in its current location. It’s also fine to split a color set.

If a player lands on an unowned invention that has a Headquarters, they can buy that invention for the price listed on the board. And guess what? They’ll get the Headquarters for free!

But what if you’re still in debt even after all this?

Do you owe another player?

Do you owe the Bank?

Game Over

The game comes to an end when all the inventions have been bought. At that point, you can start collecting rent from the Bank for each of your inventions.

If you have a complete set of inventions, you will receive double the usual rent.
If you have a Headquarters, you can collect rent for it as well.

The player who has the most cash in hand emerges as the champion.
