Rules for Love It! Hate It! Game
Welcome to the game Love It! Hate It! In this game, I’ll show you a series of things and you have to decide whether you love them or hate them. It’s a simple concept with a lot of fun!
Here’s how it works:
Step 1: Get Ready
First, let’s make sure you’re all set to play. Grab a pen and paper or use your computer to keep track of your answers. You’ll also need a timer to keep track of the time. Are you ready? Great, let’s move on!
Step 2: Play
Now, I’m going to show you a series of things. It could be anything – a food, a movie, a game, or even a color. Your job is to decide whether you love it or hate it. Trust your gut and go with your first instinct. Don’t overthink it!
The Love It! Round
When I show you an item, take a moment to think about it. Do you feel a rush of excitement and joy? Does it make you happy? If yes, then you love it! Write down the item and mark it as “love.”
The Hate It! Round
On the other hand, if the item fills you with discomfort or dislike, then you hate it! Write down the item and mark it as “hate.”
The Neutral Round
But what if you don’t feel strongly one way or another about the item? That’s okay! Some things just don’t elicit a strong response. In that case, write down the item and mark it as “neutral.”
Step 3: Keep Track
Keep a tally of how many items you love, hate, and find neutral. This will help you see patterns and trends in your likes and dislikes.
Step 4: Reflect and Discuss
Once you’ve gone through all the items, take a moment to reflect on your choices. Did anything surprise you? Did you notice any common themes or preferences? Share your thoughts with a friend or family member and see if you have any similarities or differences.
Step 5: Enjoy the Results
Now that you’ve played Love It! Hate It!, you have a better understanding of your likes and dislikes. Embrace your preferences and use them to guide your choices in the future.
Remember, this is just a game, and it’s all about having fun and learning more about yourself. Enjoy the process and don’t take it too seriously.
Are you ready to get started? Let’s play Love It! Hate It! and discover more about yourself along the way. Have fun!

- Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered with a Chip Bag to keep all your chips safe.

- Oh, and let’s not forget the Bubble Tray that holds everything together.
- Finally, you have the Instructions to guide you throughout the game.
Let’s Get Started!
Your mission is to be the first player to collect three Love It! Chips and three Hate It! Chips by guessing what other players love and hate about the given scenarios. Are you up for the challenge?
Getting Ready
- First, place the Bubble Tray in the middle of the playing area, right along with the Cards.
- Each player (except the lucky one who gets to go first) takes a Speech Bubble and a Dry-Erase Marker.
Time to Play!

When you’re the owner of the game, you become the star of the show! All eyes are on you as you kick off each scenario.
Here’s how it works: you grab a card and read it out loud. Each card presents a scenario with blanks that need to be filled in. Your job is to imagine what things you would absolutely love and absolutely hate in that situation.
Let’s say your name is Lisa, and you pick a card that says: “If I were going to be on the cover of a magazine, I would love it if it were _____ and hate it if it were ____.” Now it’s up to Dan, Brian, Erin, and Jen to fill in those blanks with answers they think you would love the most.
Okay, everyone. It’s time to play a fun game! Here’s how it works: we all have Speech Bubbles and Dry-Erase Markers. Except for one person, who will be the Subject.
The Subject will read a Card out loud. The rest of us secretly write down our guesses about what the Subject would love and hate in that situation. Remember, don’t let the Subject see what you’re writing!
Once we’re all done, we put our Speech Bubbles in the Bubble Tray. Make sure the Subject doesn’t peek!
Now, the Subject reads the Card again.
The person on the left of the Subject takes the Speech Bubbles from the Bubble Tray and holds one above the Subject’s head. They read what’s written on the “Love It!” side out loud. Everyone, except the Subject, looks at the Speech Bubble. Let’s go through all the “Love It!” Speech Bubbles, one by one.
So here’s how it works: I’m gonna give you a subject, and you have to choose your favorite answer from the options provided. Once you’ve made your choice, the person who wrote that answer will reveal themselves and get a Love It! Chip. But wait, there’s more! If two players wrote the same or very similar answer, they both get a Love It! Chip.
Now, let’s move on to the Hate It! side of the Speech Bubbles. Same process here – you choose your least favorite answer from the options, and the person who wrote that answer will get a Hate It! Chip. Simple as that.
What Happens Next?
It’s time for the next round! Everyone except the next subject gets a speech bubble. Erase everything on it because we’re starting fresh!
We’ll go in a circle, and the person next to the subject now becomes the subject. They pick a new card and get ready to go.
We keep going until someone has three chips they love and three chips they hate. If someone wins a round and they already have three love or hate chips, they don’t get another one. But at least they stopped someone else from getting more chips!
Sample Round
- I have a card with a scenario: “If something gets stuck on the bottom of my shoe, I would love it if it was _____ and hate it if it was ____”.
- Now, my friends Dan, Brian, Erin, and Jen each write down their answers on speech bubbles, trying to guess what I would like the most. They put their speech bubbles in the bubble tray when they are done.
- I read the card again, and Dan holds up the “Love It!” side of the speech bubbles one by one, reading out what is written on them: “A $100 bill”, “Movie tickets”, “Money”, and “Something easily cleaned off”.
- I choose the “Money” answer as my favorite. Since Jen wrote “A $100 bill”, which is similar to “Money”, we decide to give her a “Love It!” chip as well.
I recently came across a fascinating game that I think you’ll find intriguing. It’s called “Love It or Hate It!”, and it’s a fantastic way to discover people’s preferences. The game is simple yet captivating, as it challenges players to express their likes and dislikes in a fun and interactive manner.
Here’s how it works: each player is given a set of speech bubbles with different items written on them. These items can range from everyday objects like “dog doo” and “gum” to more unusual things like “toilet paper” and “dead bug.”
Once everyone has their speech bubbles, one person reads out each item, and the rest of the players choose their favorite or least favorite option by using their speech bubbles. For example, if the item “dog doo” is read out, players indicate whether they love it or hate it by holding up their corresponding speech bubble.
At the end of each round, players who chose the same item as their favorite or least favorite receive a Love It! or Hate It! Chip, respectively. The goal is to be the first to collect three Love It! Chips and three Hate It! Chips.
The beauty of this game lies in its ability to spark conversations and uncover unique preferences. It’s fascinating to see how different people respond to the same items and how their choices reflect their personalities. You never know what you might learn about your friends or family during a game of “Love It or Hate It!”.
So, if you’re searching for a thrilling and thought-provoking game to play with your loved ones, I highly recommend giving “Love It or Hate It!” a try. It’s a fantastic way to bond, laugh, and explore the diverse tastes and opinions that make us who we are. Get ready for an unforgettable experience filled with surprises and endless possibilities!
