Las Vegas Game Rules

Hey there! Let me break down the rules for you when it comes to playing games in Las Vegas. It can get pretty exciting, but it’s important to know what you’re getting into.

First, let’s talk about blackjack. This game is all about trying to beat the dealer by getting a total sum of cards that’s closer to 21 than they are. You don’t want to go over 21, though, because that means you automatically lose. Don’t worry, though, if you’re new to the game, the dealer will help guide you along. Next up is roulette. This is a game where a little ball spins around a wheel, and you have to bet on what color, number, or group of numbers the ball will eventually land on. It’s a game of chance, so you never know what’ll happen! Just remember to have fun and not take it too seriously. And of course, we can’t forget about poker. This is a classic card game that’s all about strategy and skill. You want to have the best hand out of all the players at the table. But be careful, because the other players are trying to beat you too! It’s a game that requires some thinking and a little bit of luck. Finally, there’s the slot machines. These are the flashy, colorful machines you see all over the casino floor. All you have to do is insert your money, press a button or pull a lever, and hope that the symbols on the screen line up in your favor. It’s a game of chance, but it can be a lot of fun.

So there you have it, the rules for some of the most popular games in Las Vegas. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned pro, there’s something for everyone. Good luck and have a great time!

Welcome to the dazzling world of Las Vegas, where brave risk-takers like me try their luck. As a player, I embark on a thrilling adventure, exploring six unique casinos. Each casino displays a different number and holds varying amounts of money just waiting to be won.

As I dive into the game, familiar questions arise on every round. Where should I strategically place my dice to secure a majority in a casino? How will my opponents position their dice? And where can I swoop in, snatch a chunk of cash from a rival, and stash it in my own pockets?

But, here’s the catch. Epic battles for the biggest fortunes have often ended in disaster, with someone else chuckling at my misfortune. It’s a risky game, but the rewards are worth it!

Components

  • There are 40 dice, with 8 in each player’s color.
  • There are 6 casinos, each with die values ranging from 1 to 6.
  • There are 54 banknotes.
  • There is 1 start player card.

Object of the Game

The goal is to have the most money by the end of four rounds.

Setup

First, arrange the 6 casinos in a row in the middle of the table. Make sure to have them in order from lowest to highest die value (see figure).

Next, shuffle the 54 banknotes and place them in a pile face-down next to the casinos. Then, place some of the banknotes on top of each casino.

Keep adding banknotes to a casino until the total value reaches at least $50,000. If you add multiple banknotes to a casino, arrange them so that you can see the value of each note (see figure).

Okay, so here’s what you need to do to start playing the game:

  • Each player gets 8 dice in their preferred color.
  • The oldest player gets the start player card.

How to Play

The game is divided into four rounds. Each round consists of every player taking turns rolling the dice about four or five times.

The oldest player goes first (since they have the start player card), and then the game continues clockwise.

On your turn, you roll all your remaining dice. At the beginning of each round, you will have all 8 dice. As the round progresses, you will have fewer and fewer dice.

Now comes the exciting part. You must choose exactly one of the numbers you rolled and add all those dice to the corresponding numbered casino. It doesn’t matter if the casino already has dice in it from you or someone else.

After you’ve taken your turn, it’s the next player’s chance to roll and place their dice. This continues until everyone has placed all their dice.

Example: Imagine this scenario: I’m playing a game called “Mirage,” and it’s my turn. I roll the dice and get four 3s and a 5. Now, I have to decide what to do with them.

Here’s what I choose to do: I take all four of the 3s and add them to the “Mirage” casino. I can’t just add one, two, or three of the 3s; it has to be all four.

Now, it’s time for my next turn. I roll the dice again, and this time I only have one die left. I add that die to the appropriate casino, and my turn is over.

If you run out of dice, you’re done for the rest of the round. It’s possible that only one player still has dice left and gets to take multiple turns in a row at the end of the round.

Once the last player has added their final dice to a casino, it’s time to see who gets paid out.

First, we check each casino to see if two or more players have the same number of dice there. If that’s the case, all of those players have to return their dice back to their supplies.

Example 1: I put 5 dice into the “Caesars Palace” casino. Benno and Carla each put in 3 dice, and Denny put in 1 die. Both Benno and Carla take their 3 dice back.

Example 2: I and Carla both added 2 dice to the “Golden Nugget” casino, while Benno and Denny added 1 die each. All of us take our dice back.

Now it’s time to distribute the banknotes from the first casino. The person who added the most dice to the casino takes back all of their dice (returning them to their supply) and receives the most valuable banknote.

Any remaining banknotes are given to the other players in order of how many dice they put in. If there aren’t enough banknotes for everyone, then the remaining players don’t get anything. They take their dice back and get nothing.

If there are any banknotes remaining at the casino, I’ll take those and put them face down underneath the pile.

I’ll distribute the winnings to the other five casinos in the same way. Any money that the players have won will be placed in front of them, face down.

Example 1: I get the $80,000 note and Denny gets the $30,000 note. We put the $10,000 note back at the bottom of the pile.

Example 2: Benno gets one of the $40,000 notes. We put the other one back at the bottom of the pile.

Example 3: Carla gets the $70,000 note and Benno gets the $20,000 note. Denny gets nothing.

The Next Round

We need to give each of the six casinos more money so that they have at least $50,000 each (as stated in the game setup).

I am the player to the left of the previous start player, so I receive the start player card and I start the next round.

End of the Game

The game ends after four rounds, and we count our money. The player who has the most money wins the game.

In case there’s a tie, the winner is the player with the most banknotes. If the tie persists, then there can be multiple winners.

Now, let’s look at the variant for 2 to 4 players. All the previous rules still apply, but there are a few exceptions.

At the beginning of each round, each player gets extra dice in a neutral color, which we suggest using white. The number of white dice you receive depends on the number of players:

– In a game with 2 players, each player gets 4 white dice, making a total of 12 dice.

– If there are 3 or 4 players, each player receives 2 white dice, totaling 10 dice. In a three-player game, the start player rolls the two remaining white dice at the start of the round and places them accordingly.

During your turn, you need to roll both your own color dice and the neutral dice, and then place them just like your own dice. Let me give you an example. Carla rolls two 1s of her color, one white 1, a 5 of her color, and a neutral 6. Now, she can decide to place all three 1s, her own 5, or the neutral 6.

At the end of a round, the neutral dice are treated as if they belonged to an extra player. Any money that this “player” wins is added to the bottom of the pile. Here are a couple of examples to help you understand. In example 1, the $80,000 note goes to white and is added to the bottom of the pile, while Benno receives the $30,000 note. In example 2, Carla receives the $70,000 note, and white receives the $40,000 note, which is also added to the bottom of the pile. Unfortunately, Anna receives nothing.

So, that’s how the game works when playing with 2 to 4 players. Follow these rules, and you’ll have a great time playing Las Vegas!
