Korrigans Game Rules
Hi there! Want to learn how to play Korrigans? I’m here to help you out. Let’s get started!
Game Objective
The goal of Korrigans is to guide your Korrigans – mischievous little goblins – through the magical forest and collect as many flowers as possible. But beware! The forest is full of obstacles and challenges that you’ll need to overcome.
Setting Up the Game
First, find a nice, open space to play in. Place the game board in the center of the playing area. Make sure everyone can reach it easily. Each player will need their own set of Korrigans, which you can place on the starting area of the game board. Shuffle the flower cards and place them face down near the game board.
Playing the Game
On your turn, roll the dice and move the indicated number of spaces with one of your Korrigans. You can choose to move any of your Korrigans. The goal is to reach the flowers and collect them. Each flower you collect earns you points. The player with the most points at the end of the game wins.
But be careful! The forest is full of traps and obstacles. If you land on a space with a trap, you’ll have to follow the instructions on the trap card. It could slow you down or even send you back to the starting area. Keep an eye out for special spaces too – they can give you extra advantages!
Throughout the game, you can also use your action cards to help you. These cards have special abilities that you can use to your advantage. Just make sure to use them at the right moment to maximize their effectiveness.
Ending the Game
The game ends when there are no more flower cards left or when all players have reached the end of the game board. Count up your points from the flowers you collected, and the player with the most points is the winner!
Final Thoughts
Now that you know the basics of how to play Korrigans, you can dive into the magical forest and start your adventure. Remember to strategize, stay alert, and have fun! Good luck!

Want to ensure your Korrigan tribe comes out on top and becomes the wealthiest? Well, I have just the trick for you! It’s all about finding those elusive four-leaf clovers that will shower you with gold coins. And here’s another tip: try to position yourself strategically so that you can reach the Cauldron of Gold when it emerges at the game’s end. Doing these two things will give you a serious advantage over your competitors.
What You Need

I’ve got something important to tell you about a game – Korrigan & the Cauldron of Gold. Have you heard of it? Well, let me break it down for you. It’s a game that comes with all sorts of interesting pieces and tokens. Here’s what you’ll find inside the box:
– 1 double-sided board
– 48 Clover tokens, which can represent either Companions like hares and squirrels, or Gold coins
– 10 Korrigan figurines in different colors
– 1 figurine of a Cauldron of gold
– 1 First player token
– 5 backup Companion tokens, each with a Hare side and a Squirrel side
– 16 Menhirs and stickers to go under them if you want to use them (this part is optional)
– 2 Elf tokens
– 14 Rainbow pawns, with 2 pawns in each color
– 17 additional Clover tokens with yellow borders, which you can use when playing with 4 or 5 players
– 5 screens, one for each Korrigan color
– 2 Goblin tokens
– 1 Troll token with a card stand
– 1 fabric bag
Now that you know what’s inside, let’s talk about how to set it all up.
Let’s get started! Place the board in the middle of the table. We’ll begin with the side where Companions are visible, so it’s easier for us to understand the game.
Next, we need to shuffle the Clover tokens. If there are 4 or 5 players, grab the 17 additional Clover tokens with the yellow border. Each field on the board has a number written in it, indicating how many Clover tokens need to be placed face down. For 4 or 5 players, make sure to add one token more than the indicated number on each field.
In each field, except for the village in the center of the board, we’ll place a Menhir. These are important markers in the game.
Now it’s time for each player to pick a color. You’ll get 2 Korrigans and a screen that corresponds to your chosen color.
Next, we’ll place several tokens next to the board. These include the Cauldron of gold, the Elf and Goblin tokens, the Troll token, and the 5 Backup Companion tokens.
Finally, the player with the most beard or the oldest player gets the honor of placing the First player token in front of them. Let the game begin!
Here’s what you need to do: first, put all 14 Rainbow pawns into the bag. Don’t forget to count them! You should end up with a total of 10 pawns in the bag. Keep the bag close to you, as it will be your turn next.
The Exciting Game of Placing Your Korrigans
Have you ever played the thrilling game of “Korrigans?” Today, let’s dive into the enchanting world of placing your tiny, mischievous creatures on the board and watch as they come to life before your eyes.
Now, here’s how it goes: first, each player gets a set of colorful Korrigans. These little sprites are ready to be brought into the game. You and your opponent will take turns strategically placing the Korrigans on the board. But be careful, my friend, because the board is not as simple as it seems.
The game board consists of different types of terrain, each with its own unique characteristics. You will encounter forests, rivers, and even mountains. Your job is to choose the perfect spot for your Korrigans, considering the advantages and challenges of each terrain type. It’s an exhilarating challenge, I tell you!
Forests, for example, offer great cover for your cunning Korrigans. They can hide and plan their sneaky moves undetected. Rivers, on the other hand, provide a path for your Korrigans to traverse swiftly across the board. But beware of mountains, my friend! They may not be easily crossed, and your Korrigans might find themselves trapped or slowed down.
As you place your Korrigans, take a moment to envision the possibilities. Imagine the strategies and the surprises that will unfold during the game. Will you focus on strength, or perhaps cunning? Will you form alliances, or will it be every sprite for themselves? The choice is yours, and the excitement is palpable.
So, there you have it! The exhilarating game of “Korrigans,” where imagination meets strategy, and each turn holds a promise of both triumph and challenge. Dive into this enchanting world and let your Korrigans come alive on the board, ready to bewilder your opponents. Let the game begin!

When I play the game, I start by putting one of my Korrigan pieces in either of the fields marked with a number 1. Then, I slyly examine all the Clover tokens in that field and pick one to keep, hiding it behind my screen. The remaining tokens are returned to the field, face-down.
Next, the player to my left follows the same process in one of the fields marked with a number 2. We continue taking turns until all players have placed their first Korrigans. Then, we all get a second turn using the other field indicated by our player number.
Now, here’s an advanced rule: If we decide to play with the side of the board that doesn’t have the icons, we have more freedom in placing our Korrigans. We can even choose an already occupied field without any restrictions. But remember, the other rules for placing Korrigans stay the same.
Oh, and by the way, let me tell you about Clover Tokens. They are an important part of the game.
Let me tell you about the two types of Clover tokens: Companions and Gold coins.
Companion Tokens (6 Types)

Let me tell you about Korrigan and how they can move. Korrigan is a character who can move in many different ways. You can find more information about Korrigan’s movement and companions on the back of this page.
Gold coins are tokens that have different values

In the game, you can earn points at the end of the game. Make sure to choose at least one Companion from the available tokens during the Korrigan’s arrival turn. If you don’t, you’ll have to give up one of your tokens to get a Backup Companion.
A Game Turn
Each round of the game goes like this:
- Rainbow appearance
- Korrigan movement
- Cauldron appearance
1. Rainbow Appearance
At the start of each round, before it’s your turn, the player with the bag in front of them takes out a Rainbow pawn from the bag. Then, they pass the bag to the player on their left, who will take out a pawn at the start of the next round.
First things first, I have the bag and I’m the one who gets to go first. I’m super excited to draw a Rainbow pawn and kick off the game! Let me explain a little more about how this all works. The player who goes first, also known as the First Player, holds on to the bag throughout the game. It’s their job to remind everyone else to draw a Rainbow pawn from the bag when it’s their turn. So, to start things off, I’ll reach into the bag and pull out a pawn. Now, let’s check the color of the pawn I drew.

- If there’s a new color, I put the Rainbow pawn on one of the Suns that are still available on the board. The Cauldron won’t be in this row of the board’s grid.
- If the color has already been drawn, I put the Rainbow pawn on one of the Clouds that are still available on the board. The Cauldron won’t be in this column of the board grid.
- If the 7th rainbow color is drawn, I don’t place the Rainbow pawn. Instead, we move on to the Cauldron appearance (see Cauldron appearance’).
Exception: Once the 5th color is placed on a cloud, I immediately pass the bag to the player on my left, and they draw a new Rainbow pawn. We keep going like this until we draw the 7th color. Then we move on to the Cauldron appearance (see Cauldron appearance, further).
2. Korrigan Movement
When we play the game, “Korrigans”, we all have to make a move. Here’s how it works:
First, it’s important to understand that each player has their own group of little helpers, called Korrigans. And in order to move one of our Korrigans, we need to use a Companion that we’ve already drawn.
Now, let me explain something about these Companions. Each Companion has a special power that allows us to move our Korrigans in a specific way. So, when it’s our turn, we have to choose which Companion we want to use in order to make our move.
But here’s the thing – we can only move one of our Korrigans to another field. We can’t move any of our opponents’ pieces. It’s all about strategically placing our Korrigans in the best positions to win the game.
So, as we’re playing the game, we have to keep this in mind – each player, starting with the first, must move one of their Korrigans to a different field using a Companion they’ve already drawn.

Hey there! Did you know that a Korrigan can use a hare to hop between fields if there’s no door or bridge? It’s a pretty handy trick!

When I think about birds, I can’t help but wonder about the amazing things they can do. Did you know that birds have the power to transport a Korrigan to a new field? It’s like they have their own magical portal! Let me explain how it works.
Imagine you are a Korrigan standing on a field, surrounded by different colors. Suddenly, a bird appears and lands beside you. This bird is like a tiny tour guide, ready to take you on an adventure. But here’s the catch – the bird can only take you to a field that is the same color as the one you’re standing on.
So, if you’re standing on a green field, the bird will whisk you away to another green field. It’s like hopping from one green oasis to another! And the same goes for other colors – if you’re on a blue field, the bird will take you to a blue field, and so on.
This ability of birds to transport a Korrigan based on color is truly fascinating. It’s like a secret code between them and the fields. They have this special connection that allows them to navigate through the world in a unique way.
Next time you see a bird flying by, imagine the incredible powers it possesses. Remember that it can transport a Korrigan to a new field, as long as it’s the same color. It’s a small but magical aspect of nature that fills me with wonder. Birds truly are remarkable creatures!

Hey there! Did you know that squirrels have a special power? They can help a creature called a Korrigan to go through a door. How cool is that?

When a Korrigan needs to cross a bridge, the mouse comes to the rescue.

Have you ever wondered what a mole is? I sure have! Let me tell you all about it. You see, a mole is a special way for a Korrigan to travel. Imagine this – you’re in a field, and there’s a little mound of dirt called a molehill. That’s where the magic happens! The mole allows me, as a Korrigan, to go from one molehill to another molehill in different fields. It’s like stepping into another world!

Hey there! Guess what? I’ve got something super cool to talk about – frogs and Korrigans! So, let’s dive right in!
Picture this: there’s this amazing creature called a Korrigan that wants to move from one field with a pontoon to another field on the river with a pontoon. But how does it do that? Well, it has a secret weapon – the frog!
Now, here’s the deal: in order to use the frog’s power, you need to have a Clover token that matches the Companion’s movement. Think of it as a special key to unlock the frog’s magic. The first time you use it, you show everyone your Clover token by placing it in front of your screen. And here’s the exciting part – the token stays visible for the whole game! So, you can use it again and again in later turns.
Isn’t that awesome? With the frog and the Clover token, you can explore new areas and have even more fun in the game. So, what are you waiting for? Start hopping with your Korrigan and make the most of its magical powers!

Backup Companion: Alright, here’s the deal. You’ve got this nifty little trick up your sleeve called the Backup Companion. Now, you can only use it once per game, and it’s gotta be during your turn. But here’s the catch: you’ll need to sacrifice one of those Clover tokens lurking behind your screen to activate it. Sacrifice made, that token is gone for good, and the other players won’t have a clue. In its place, you’ll have the Backup Companion token, ready to be used just like the other Companion tokens.
Now, here’s the thing about this Backup Companion token. It can be placed in front of your screen, where it will hang out as either a Hare OR a Squirrel. Yeah, it’s a bit special, so you can’t go flipping it during the game. Just remember, though, once the Cauldron makes an appearance, sacrificing tokens is a big no-no.
The Gathering
Okay, so after you’ve done your move, it’s time for a little secret. You gotta take a look at all the Clover tokens in the field you’ve just arrived in. Sneaky, right? Now, choose one of those tokens and securely stash it behind your screen. The rest of ’em go back in the field, facedown.
When you take the last Clover token in a field, you also get the Menhir. You flip the Menhir over, showing it to everyone, and then do what it says on the drawing engraved on it. This is called the Menhir effect (see Menhirs). After that, you put the Menhir back in the box, unless the Menhir gives you Gold coins.
Menhirs
The Elf
I place an Elf token under my Korrigan in the game. This token gives me 2 Gold coins at the end of the game. If one of my opponents moves into the area where the Elf is, the Elf token immediately goes under their Korrigan instead.
Let me explain how the Elf and the Goblin tokens work. The token always stays with your Korrigan. You can’t have 2 tokens on one Korrigan. If your Korrigan already has a token and you acquire a new one, the original token is taken out of the game and replaced with the new one.
Now let’s talk about the Goblin.

I put a Goblin token under my Korrigan during the game. At the end of the game, the Goblin will take 2 Gold coins from me. If the Goblin moves to a field where there is an opponent’s Korrigan, the Goblin token goes under that opponent’s Korrigan right away.
Now, let’s talk about another character in the game, the Leprechaun.

So here’s the deal: there’s this game I wanna tell you about. It’s called “Clover Tokens,” and it’s pretty fun, I gotta say. There’s this thing in the game called “The Troll,” and let me tell you, it’s something that can really shake things up.
But what does The Troll do?
Well, let me break it down for you. When you’re playing Clover Tokens, there’s a point where one player gets to be The Troll. And let me tell you, it’s both exciting and nerve-wracking at the same time.
Once you become The Troll, you get to look at another player’s screen. That player will have to show their Clover tokens to everyone else. It’s like a big reveal, you know? And The Troll gets to do this until the game is over.
Now, you might be wondering, why is this such a big deal? Well, let me explain. The thing is, knowing what Clover tokens another player has can really give you an advantage. It’s like having an inside scoop, you feel me?
But here’s the thing – it’s not all rainbows and sunshine. Being The Troll means you’re in the spotlight. Everyone’s watching your every move. You’ve gotta make some strategic decisions, play it smart, and not let the pressure get to you.
So, yeah, The Troll in Clover Tokens is definitely a game-changer. It adds this element of surprise and strategy that keeps things interesting. Trust me, once you give it a try, you’ll see what I mean.

So here’s what you do: you gotta put that Troll token right smack between two fields. Any place will do – a free path, a bridge, or a door. But here’s the thing – the little Korrigans can’t go through the path if the Troll’s blocking it.
Now, let’s talk about the Fairy.

When you play the game, you have the special ability to make a second move right away. This means you can choose another Clover token and move again. But here’s the catch – you can only do this with the second Korrigan.
Collecting Gold

When I play the game, I get to keep the Menhir as a bonus until the game ends.
3. How the Cauldron Looks
Once the 7th rainbow color is drawn, that’s when the Cauldron shows up.
When I’m the one who draws the 7th color, I have to follow these conditions when I place the gold Cauldron on the board:
- I have to find an empty row (Sun) and column (Cloud) where there’s no Rainbow pawn.
- If possible, I have to place the Cauldron where none of my own Korrigans are.
Here’s what happens in the turn after the Cauldron appears:
During my turn, I try to move both of my Korrigans into the field where the Cauldron showed up.

I’m going to rewrite the text in a simpler and more engaging manner, while preserving the meaning and structure of the original. Here’s my version:
Example: When there’s no rainbow pawn in row 3 or columns 5 and 6, a new color, the seventh one, appears. The Cauldron can go on three different fields.
Not all Korrigans can reach the Cauldron.
During your turn, you:
- Reveal all your hidden Companions by placing them with the ones that are already visible.
- On this last turn, you can make as many moves as your Companion tokens allow.
- Each token can only be used once for one Korrigan, and then it’s gone.
Example: To move the Hare twice, you need to discard two Hare tokens.
End of the Game
When it comes to playing the game, each of us has a role to play. We race to count our treasures, adding and subtracting the coins we receive from various sources. The magical creatures, the Elf and Goblin, as well as the ancient Menhirs, all have a part to play in determining our wealth. But there is a secret bonus hidden in the Cauldron, guarded by the mischievous Korrigans.
If you manage to place one Korrigan on the Cauldron, you’ll be granted a bonus of 10 Gold coins. But if you’re truly lucky and have both of your Korrigans dancing around the Cauldron, you’ll receive an even greater reward of 15 Gold coins.
In the end, it all comes down to one thing: Gold. The player with the most Gold at the end of the game emerges as the ultimate victor.
But what if there’s a tie? Well, in that case, the player with the most Companions remaining on their side will claim the victory. And if things are still equal, the player who took their turn last will be declared the winner.
