Let’s Explore the IceDice Game Rules!

Hey there! I’m here to explain the exciting game of IceDice to you. If you’re ready to dive into a frosty adventure, then join me as we uncover the rules of this cool game!

First things first, let me introduce you to IceDice. It’s a game created by the genius minds at Looney Labs, and it’s all about using your strategy skills to conquer the icy world!

So, how does IceDice work? Well, it all starts with a set of pyramid-shaped playing pieces called “IceDice.” Each IceDie has a different color and represents a different power in the game. You’ll find five IceDice in the set, each with their unique abilities.

Now, let me break it down for you. When playing IceDice, your goal is to collect the most points by capturing pyramids on the board. These pyramids come in three different sizes, and each has a different point value. The bigger the pyramid, the more points it’s worth.

On your turn, you’ll start by rolling all five IceDice. Each IceDie will show a different power, such as Freeze, Melt, and Trip. These powers allow you to manipulate the pyramids on the board and gain an advantage over your opponents.

Once you’ve rolled the IceDice, you’ll choose one power and activate it. For example, if you choose the Freeze power, you can “freeze” an opponent’s pyramid, rendering it useless for a turn. You can also use the power to “regenerate” one of your own captured pyramids, bringing it back into the game.

Remember, each power has its own unique ability, so choose wisely and think strategically to outsmart your opponents and claim victory!

Throughout the game, you’ll be capturing pyramids by matching their colors to the IceDice you rolled. The more pyramids you capture, the more points you’ll earn. But be careful, as your opponents will be trying to do the same!

The game continues until all the pyramids have been captured, and then it’s time to tally up the points and see who reigns as the IceDice champion!

So, are you ready to take on the icy challenge of IceDice? Gather your friends, roll those IceDice, and let the frosty fun begin!

Remember, always adapt and learn from each game you play. The more you play IceDice, the more strategies you’ll discover and the better you’ll become. Enjoy the journey and embrace the frosty adventure of this exciting game!

Right in the center of the table, we have what’s known as the Bank. This is where all the game pieces start out.

Right by the Bank, we’ve got another area called the Counter. And right in front of each player, we’ve got their own special area called the Vault.

Getting Started

To begin, we need to arrange all the pyramids in the Bank based on their size and color.

If you’re the one holding the dice, you go first!

How to Play

When it’s your turn, roll both dice. Then, select a pyramid that matches the size and color indicated on the dice. Take that pyramid from the Bank and place it on the Counter. Keep in mind that you may or may not be able to put this pyramid in your Vault at the end of your turn.

  • If you roll the Atom, choose a color that you don’t already have on the Counter.
  • If the pyramid die shows two pyramids of different sizes, you can choose which size to take.

Rolling Again

Keep on rolling and moving pieces to the Counter until you make a decision to stop or Bust Out. Bust Out happens when you roll the same color as a piece on the Counter.

If you Bust Out, all the pieces on the Counter will be returned to the Bank. But if you choose to stop, the pieces will go into your Vault.

Stealing

If the piece you rolled is not available in the Bank, you have to steal it from an opponent’s Vault. Remember, stolen pieces will not be returned to their original owners if you Bust Out.

If you have multiple options after rolling, it’s okay to choose one that requires stealing, even if the Bank has the other pyramids you could have chosen. If your Vault already has all the pyramids of the size and color you rolled, you don’t get anything for that roll, but you can roll again.

Rainbow Bonus

So, here’s the deal. When you’re playing this game, if you manage to collect all 5 colors without Busting Out, you’re in luck! You get to move those colorful pyramids straight to your Vault and keep on rolling as if it’s the beginning of your turn all over again!

Now let’s talk about how the game ends.

The ultimate goal is to win the game, right? And you do that by collecting 3 monochrome Trios. Simple as that.

Oh, and just so you know, any other pyramids you may have stashed in your Vault, they don’t really count for anything. It’s all about those monochrome Trios.

Want to Play with More People?

I think IceDice is most enjoyable when played with two players, but don’t worry – you can still include more players if you have extra pyramids! To accommodate additional players, simply add an extra Rainbow Stash for each person who wants to join the game.
