If you make a mistake and ring the bell when the condition isn’t met, you have to give one of your cards to each of the other players.

Winning the Game:

The game continues until one player has collected all the cards. That player is declared the winner of the game!

The Clown Cards

Each card features a clown. There are clowns in nine different colors, with five happy clowns and one sad clown without a hat for each color. The happy and sad clowns look very similar, so you need to pay close attention.

Setup

Now, before we get started, we gotta shuffle those cards up real good and make sure everyone gets an equal share. If we’ve got four players, then two of us will have one extra card.

Alright, now here’s where it gets interesting. Each one of us takes our pile of cards and puts them face-down right in front of us on the table. This is important because we want to keep our cards hidden from the others. It’s like having a little secret stash, just for us.

Are you ready? It’s time to play a fun game! Here’s how it works:

First, it’s my turn. I’ll flip over the top card from my pile and place it face up in front of me on the table. Then it’s your turn.

But wait, there’s more! As we take turns, a pile of cards will start to build up in front of each player. These piles will be between the bell and the covered pack.

Now, pay attention to this important rule: when you uncover a card, you must make sure to turn it around so that everyone can see the front of the card first. That means you’ll have to flip each card quickly if you want to see which clown you’ve uncovered.

Ringing the Bell in a Flash

We’re all taking turns, flipping over the top card from our hidden pile, until we spot two cheerful clowns of the same color.

Once that happens, we all have to race to ring the bell, whether it’s our turn or not!

Once upon a time, a colorful cast of happy clowns emerged to play a joyous game. The rules were simple, yet the stakes were high – the first to ring the bell would claim victory and all the cards.

I eagerly placed a second green clown on top of a blue one, forming a vibrant duo. The presence of two green clowns before me meant it was time to strike the bell.

With a swift and decisive ring, I emerged as the victorious player. All the cards, including my own, became mine to treasure. I carefully placed them face-down beneath my growing pile.

Excitement filled the air as we prepared for the next round. The fastest player, brimming with anticipation, turned over a new card, unveiling a fresh possibility.

Before we continued, a word of caution was shared. We were reminded to keep our hands on the table, close to our own cards. It was important to maintain a fair and focused playing environment.

An Unexpected Turn

Don’t get confused by the sad clowns—they can look just like the happy ones. It’s easy to make a mistake and ring the bell incorrectly when two clowns of the same color are revealed, but one of them is actually sad.

Let me give you an example: there’s a yellow happy clown, a red sad clown, a blue sad clown, and a blue happy clown. So far, don’t ring the bell. Instead, place the blue happy clown on top of the yellow one.

Now there are two blue happy clowns visible, which means you can ring the bell. But wait! There’s also a blue sad clown in plain sight.

Uh-oh! Wrong Bell Signal!

If you’ve rung the bell at the wrong moment, you have to give a card from your covered pile to each of the other players. They’ll put the card under their own covered pile.

The Game Ends

If it’s my turn and I can’t turn over any more cards, I’m out, unfortunately. The rest of the players keep playing until they find two of the same clowns.

The fastest player gets to collect their cards one last time and then the game is over. After that, we each count how many cards we have. The player with the most cards is the winner.
