Hey there! Let me break it down for you. Europe is divided into regions, and each region has four harbors, which are marked as A, and four cities, marked as B. Each city has a unique symbol, and there are eight symbols in total.

Now, here’s the interesting part. Each sea is connected by sea routes and has four harbors sharing the same symbol. These harbors can be in different regions, like Mare Germanicum having 2 harbors in Britannia and 2 in Germania.

Some regions have barriers, marked as C, along their borders. And right next to each region, you’ll find a seal, marked as D, specific to that region. The whole map is covered with hexagons, which help to place the pieces properly.

About the Game

The goal here is to dominate Europe! And how do you do that? Well, it’s simple. Your family needs to create the biggest and most valuable dominions. You can earn victory points in a few different ways.

First, by claiming cities and harbors with your fiefs. Second, by creating sea leagues with control over those harbors. And finally, by donating to the church. The more points you earn, the closer you’ll get to becoming the ruler of Europe!

When the game comes to an end, you have an opportunity to earn a bonus. To do this, you should try to claim as many cities on your hidden objective card as you can. Additionally, you can earn a bonus by holding the Gonzaga tile.

First, place the board right in the middle of where you’re playing. Simple enough, right?

Now, time to spice things up a bit. Pick a random scenario based on how many players you have. Don’t worry about the other scenarios for now, just put them aside.

Next, for the scenario you picked, take the matching seal for each of the listed regions and put them face-up on their matching spots. These face-up regions are the ones that are doing well in this particular scenario. But don’t forget about the other regions! Place their seals face down, because they’re inactive for now.

Lastly, it’s time to choose your color! Once you’ve settled on a color, gather all the pieces and cards that match that color. Oh, and one more thing: put away the cards for the inactive regions. You won’t be needing them for this game.
