Don’t You Forget It Game Rules

Hey there! I’m excited to tell you all about the rules of the “Don’t You Forget It” game. It’s super fun, and I think you’ll love playing it! So, let’s get started.

First, let me explain how the game works. The goal of the game is to test your memory skills. I will show you a series of words or pictures on the screen, and it’s up to you to remember them in the correct order.

Now, I know what you’re thinking. How am I supposed to remember all those words or pictures? Well, don’t worry, I’ll give you some hints along the way to help you out. You can also take notes if you’d like.

Once you think you’ve got everything memorized, it’s time for the real challenge. I’m going to remove one word or picture from the sequence, and it’s your job to tell me what’s missing. Don’t worry if you don’t get it right the first time. It’s all about practice, and with each round, your memory will get better.

Now, let’s talk about the scoring. For each correct answer, you’ll earn points. The more rounds you play and the higher your score, the better you’ll become at remembering things. It’s a great way to train your brain and improve your memory skills.

Remember, the key to success in this game is to pay attention, focus, and practice. So, are you ready to challenge yourself and see how well you can remember? I bet you’ll do great! Let’s get started and have some fun with “Don’t You Forget It” game!

Alright, let’s kick things off with a game! We’ll need a die for this, so make sure you have one handy. Each of us will get a chance to roll it, and the player with the highest number gets to go first. Remember, any number is better than rolling “FOR”, “GET”, or “IT”. After that, we’ll take turns going clockwise.

Now we need someone to keep score. This lucky person will write down our names or initials in the space above “player 1”, “player 2”, and so on.

How to Play

When it’s your turn, you need to roll all nine dice. After rolling, you have to separate the word dice and the point dice:

The Word Dice:

If any of the dice show the words FOR, GET, or IT, you must set them aside together. If you have at least one of each of these words, you spell FORGET IT and your turn is immediately over. Unfortunately, you won’t earn any points, and it will be the next player’s turn.

The Point Dice:

You need to choose one number from the dice (1 through 5) that you’ve rolled at least two of a kind (for example, two 3s or three 5s). The dice with the number you choose will be the point dice that you set aside to score points.

Once you have set aside the word dice and the point dice, you have two options. You can end your turn and keep the points you have earned, or you can continue rolling the remaining dice. If you choose to continue rolling, all word dice with FOR, GET, or IT must be set aside, along with any point dice that have the same number as those you set aside on your first roll.

When you play this game, you have the option to keep rolling the dice as many times as you want. Just remember, if you spell “FORGET IT,” your turn ends and you don’t score any points for that round!

Setting Aside All Nine Dice:

If, during a round, you manage to set aside all nine dice, you have a choice:

  • You can end your turn and take your score, or
  • You can keep track of the number and type of point dice you have and roll all nine dice again, hoping to increase your score. However, you must still set aside all word dice and only keep the point dice that match the number you’ve been collecting. For example, if you already have five 3s from previous rolls, you need to continue setting aside more 3s. But be careful! If you spell out “FORGET IT,” you lose all the points you’ve earned in that turn, including those from the first set of rolls.

Scoring

If you stop playing before spelling out FORGET IT, I’ll enter your score under your name.

Your score is the total of all the dice you put aside. For example, if you put aside three 4s, you get 12 points.

Bonus scores:
  • If you put aside a total of four dice, I’ll double your score.
  • If you put aside five dice, I’ll triple your score.
  • If you put aside six or more dice, I’ll quadruple your score.

A play example:

First roll: 2, 2, 3, 3, 3, 4, 4, 5, GET.

You decide to set aside the three 3s. You must also set aside the GET.

Next roll: 3, 4, 5, 5, IT.

You must set aside the 3 and the IT.

Next roll: 1, 3, GET.

You must set aside the 3 and the GET.

Next roll: 2.

Next roll: 4.

Next roll: 3.

You must set aside the 3.

All nine dice have been set aside: GET, GET, IT, and six 3s. You could end the turn and score 6 X 3 = 18 points, which will then be quadrupled to 72 points because of the scoring bonus.

But let’s say you continue rolling:

Next roll: 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 3, 4, 5, 5. You must set aside the 3.

Next roll: 1, 1, 2, 2, 4, 4, 4, FOR. You must set aside the FOR.

Next roll: 1, 3, 3, 4, FOR, GET, GET.

You set aside the two 3s and decide

The Game Comes to an End

Once a player’s score has reached or gone beyond 500 points, the regular play comes to a close.

At this point, every player still in the game will have one final opportunity to surpass the player in the lead. When this is done, the game concludes, crowning the player with the most points as the ultimate victor.
