Welcome to the Dice Alias Game!
Let me guide you through the rules of this exciting and entertaining game. Get ready for lots of fun and laughter!
First things first, you must have a set of dice and a list of words. Each word in the list has a corresponding number, which will be used to determine the word you need to guess.
Now, let’s get started! To begin the game, roll the dice. The number you roll corresponds to a word on the list. Keep in mind, you might need to roll more than once to find the word you’re looking for.
Once you have your word, it’s time to start guessing! Try to describe the word to your teammates without saying the word itself. You have a limited amount of time to do this, so be quick and creative!
Remember, you can’t use any gestures or act out the word. You can only use words to describe it. The purpose of the game is to challenge your communication skills and have fun while doing it!
Your teammates will have to listen carefully to your description and try to guess the word. If they guess correctly, you earn a point. But be aware, the clock is ticking!
Once the time is up or your team guesses the word, it’s time to move on to the next player or team. Keep taking turns until all the words have been guessed.
The team with the most points at the end of the game wins! So, make sure to use your imagination and communication skills to the fullest!
I hope you enjoy playing the Dice Alias Game as much as I do. It’s a fantastic way to have a great time with friends and family. So, what are you waiting for? Gather your loved ones, grab some dice, and let the laughter begin!

Okay, listen up! This game is all about speed and strategy. We’re gonna have a blast playing against each other and trying to get our pawns to the finish line first. It’s gonna be a wild race!
Getting Ready

- First, I carefully take off the category tiles and color tokens from the game board. We don’t need the arrow, so we can throw it away.
- Next, I place the game board on the table and put the dice bowl right in the center.
- Then, I choose a pawn and a color token that match.
- Now, I put my pawn on the starting space 1 and place my color token in front of me on the table. This helps me remember which pawn is mine. I also place the joker in the dice bowl and give the letter dice to the youngest player.
- Finally, we are ready to start the game!
Let’s Play

- Roll the letter dice in the dice bowl. Let’s start by rolling the letter dice in the dice bowl. Each dice has a different letter on it. You can only use each letter once, except for the joker, which can stand for any letter. Remember, you’ll need to form a word using the letters on the dice. But here’s the catch – the word must have at least 4 letters and be in its most basic form, called the infinitive form.
How to Explain
Before we begin the game, it’s important for all players to agree on whether we accept proper names, slang words, or regional expressions.
When it’s your turn to explain a word, you cannot use any part of the word itself. For example, if the word is “mouse,” you can’t say “What kind of animal is Mickey Mouse?” Instead, you’ll have to think of a way to describe the word without using it directly. For instance, you could say “A type of rodent.”
Don’t worry, you’re allowed to use opposites to help explain the word. If the word is “big,” you can say “The opposite of small.” This can make it a bit easier to get your point across.
If you want to play this game, we have some rules you need to know.
Mistakes
If I make a mistake, like using part of the word I’m supposed to explain, then you have to move your pawn back one space.
Once that happens, the round is over. We’ll get a new category disc and roll the dice again for the next round.
Time to Play Another Round!
If nobody can think of a new word using the given letters within about 30 seconds, I’ll take the letter dice out of the bowl and give them another roll.
Now that a new round has begun, it’s our job to come up with a fresh word.
It’s Game Over When…
The game ends as soon as one player reaches the second finish space. And that player is crowned the winner!
Want to Kick it Up a Notch?
If you’re looking for an extra challenge, we can mix things up by shuffling the category discs with the text side down. We’ll place them in a pile next to the game board before we start playing. At the beginning of each round, we’ll flip over the topmost category disc to reveal the category for that round.
If we manage to come up with a word that fits the special category, we’ll score some bonus points!
Oh, and by the way, if our word does happen to fit the special category, the person explaining the word gets to move one extra step!
