Setting up the Game
The first thing I do is place the game board right in the center of our playing area, so it’s easy for everyone to see. Then, each of us takes one Fulfillment Card and the Player Cart Token that goes along with it. We each get to choose which one we want – a tiny decision, but hey, it feels good to have a choice!
Next, I grab all the Produce pieces and separate them into eight different colors. But wait, before we start, we need to remove some of the pieces, depending on how many of us are playing. If there are two of us, we should only use 13 pieces of each color. For three players, 14 pieces, and so on. If we’re playing with the maximum of five players, we’ll be using all 16 pieces of each color. Now I know how much produce we’ve got each to work with!
Okay, let’s get this game started! First, I’m going to put each group of produce cubes on a different Harvest space on the Game Board. Randomly, of course, because that adds to the excitement!
Now it’s time to deal with the dice. I’ll need 8 of them, and they come in different colors. I’ll put one die of each color in the Dice Bag, so we have a total of 8 dice. But before we start rolling, I’ll take one die out, give it a nice shake, and place it on the first die space to the right of “Monterosso”.
Now for the second die. I’ll remove it from the Dice Bag, give it a roll, and place it to the right of the first die. We’ll keep doing this until we have all four dice placed in “Monterosso”.
Once we’re done with “Monterosso”, it’s time to move on to “Riomaggiore”, the bottom village. We’ll use the same method as before, placing the remaining 4 dice there. Oh, and don’t forget to put the remaining 8 dice back in the Dice Bag!
Now it’s time to continue placing dice on the board. We’ll start with “Vernazza” and put 3 dice there. After that, we’ll move on to “Corniglia” and put 2 dice there. Finally, we’ll place the remaining 3 dice in “Manarola”. Almost done!
Hey there! Let’s get this game started, shall we? First things first, let’s shuffle those Produce Cards and deal out four to each player. Keep them face down so we don’t spoil the fun!
Next up, we’re gonna deal four more cards face up and place them in the row of spaces on the Game Board. This is where the real action happens!
Oh, don’t forget about the deck of Produce cards. Place it in the bottom right card space on the board. It’s gonna come in handy later.
Remember: we’ll be using that empty space for any discarded Produce Cards. It’s important to keep things neat and organized!
Hey there! Let me break it down for you. There are two types of Order Cards: Starting Orders and regular Produce Orders. You can tell them apart because Starting Orders have stars on the boxes, while regular Produce Orders don’t.
First, we need to separate the Starting Orders from the regular Produce Orders. Take all the Starting Orders and shuffle them up. Then, deal one to each player, face down. Keep your Starting Order card a secret – don’t show it until the end of the game. Cool, right? It adds a little mystery!
Any remaining Starting Orders should be put back in the game box without revealing them. We want to keep things fair and balanced for everyone.
Now it’s time to shuffle up the regular Produce Orders. Deal out cards equal to the number of players and put them face up in a row next to the game board. This is where all the action happens! The remaining deck of Produce Orders goes face-down next to this row of face-up Order cards.
In the beginning, we all pick a spot to put our Cart Tokens. At the same time, we place our Cart Tokens on any of the three Harvest spaces (not the Village spaces) to start the game.
There’s no limit to how many Cart Tokens can be in a space during the game. We put the Scoring Markers in the Dice Bag and take one out; that person gets to go first.
Once we know who the start player is, we take turns in a clockwise order. We take out the other Scoring Markers from the bag and stack all of them on the 100 space on the Scoring Track.
Finally, we put all 5 Most Popular Vendor Cards next to the Game Board. These cards become a part of the game once a player sells 8 produce in a specific village.
Let’s Play the Game
So, here’s the goal: I want to collect as many Lire as I can. Lire is the currency used in Italy, and we’ll keep track of our Lire on the Scoring Track that goes around the map. Whenever I make a profit, my marker moves forward on the track. There are a few ways to earn Lire:
- I can sell the produce I have at a village. Each village has a value for the type of produce it wants, and I’ll get Lire based on that value.
- I can fulfill Produce Orders. These are orders for specific types of produce, and when I complete them, I’ll earn Lire.
- I can try to be the Most Popular Vendor at a village. If I sell the most produce there, I’ll earn some bonus Lire.
How to Play
Alright, now it’s time to take turns and play the game. We’ll start with one player and then go clockwise. When it’s my turn, I can choose to do any 3 of these 4 actions:
- Move my Cart Token – I can move my cart up to 4 spaces in a clockwise direction. This lets me travel around the map.
My Turn in the Game
When I play this game, there are a few actions I can take on my turn:
- Draw 1 Produce Card – I draw 1 Produce Card and add it to my hand.
- Harvest produce – I can harvest up to 4 Produce pieces at any of the three Harvest spaces.
- Sell produce at a Village Market – I can sell up to 4 Produce pieces at any of the five villages.
I can choose to perform the same action multiple times during my turn.
Moving Around the Board
The game board has a total of 8 spaces that my Cart Token can land on – three harvest locations and five villages. When it’s my turn, I can move my Cart Token up to 4 spaces in a clockwise direction, following the path that connects each space.
It’s important to remember that I must always move forward in a clockwise direction and cannot go counter-clockwise. Multiple Cart Tokens can be on the same space at the same time.
Adding to My Hand

Hey there! Let’s talk about Produce Cards. You can draw one of these cards during the game. There are 10 cards available for each of the 8 types of Produce. Each type matches the color of the Produce pieces and colored dice.
- Black – Olive
- Gray – Funghi
- White – Agli
- Purple – Uva
- Green – Zucchine
- Yellow – Limoni
- Orange – Arance
- Red – Pomodori
If you decide to draw a Produce Card, you can only choose one card per action. There are two places you can draw from: the 4 face-up cards on the Game Board or the draw pile.
When you take one of the 4 face-up Produce Cards, you have to immediately replace it with another card from the draw pile. Remember, you can’t take cards from the discard pile. So choose wisely!
When I’m playing the game, I can hold as many cards as I want in my hand. But there’s a catch. If all the cards in the draw pile have been used up, I have to shuffle the discard pile and create a new draw pile. It’s important that I shuffle the cards really well to make sure the game is fair.
Now, what happens if there are no cards left in both the draw pile and the discard pile? Well, in that unlikely situation, I’m not allowed to draw a Produce Card as an action. I’ll have to wait until there are cards available again.
Time to Harvest
In order to make some money at the village markets, I need to harvest produce. The game board has 3 Harvest spaces where I can do this. The first space, called A, comes right after “Monterosso”, and the third space is right before “Riomaggiore”.
Now, here’s the thing. The first and third Harvest spaces give me access to 3 different types of produce, while the second Harvest space only has 2 types. But there’s a rule. I can only harvest produce that is right next to the Harvest space where my Cart Token is placed. So I need to plan my moves carefully to get the best produce for selling.
If you want to get produce on a Harvest space, you need to throw away a Produce Card that matches the type of produce you want. For each piece of produce you take, you have to play a card. For example, if you want to take 4 grapes, you have to discard 4 grape cards. Put the produce on the cart image at the top right part of your Fulfillment Card.

If you choose the Pink Cart, you have the option of collecting Funghi, Zucchine, or Limoni from the Harvest space. These pieces are colored Gray, Green, and Yellow, respectively. A
If you’re playing as the Blue Cart, your Harvest space only allows you to collect Pomodori and Agli. These pieces are Red and White. B
Remember, you can’t have more than four undelivered Produce pieces on your Fulfillment Card at any time. The Fulfillment Card has an image of a produce cart where you can place the pieces. You can harvest up to four pieces from the same location in just one action. This means you can discard multiple Produce cards and collect up to four pieces, and it will still count as one action.
Yield – You can get rid of two matching Produce Cards of any kind to collect ANY ONE piece of Produce that you can reach at the Harvest area where you are currently located.
In the example above, you can discard TWO “Limoni” cards to collect either 2 Limoni pieces, or 1 Funghi piece, or 1 Zucchine piece from the Harvest area. A
You can discard any combination of regular Produce Cards or matching pairs in one go. But remember, you can only collect produce that’s next to the Harvest area where your Cart Token is.
In the example above, you can gather 1 Pomodori and 2 Agli pieces by discarding the following cards at Harvest area B (all with just 1 action).
Selling Your Produce at the Village Market
When I sell my produce at the village markets, I can make a profit and move my Scoring Marker along the Scoring Track. I have the flexibility to sell any type of produce at any village.
It’s important to note that certain produce will be more profitable at specific villages, while others might not fetch a high price. To sell my produce at a particular village, I need to make sure my Cart Token is on the corresponding space for that village.
Each village has a different set of dice on its right-hand side. These dice determine which types of produce are in demand and will yield the highest profit in that village. When I sell my produce, I will earn Lira based on the sale price shown on the corresponding die for each piece sold.
If I sell my produce at a village where there is no die of that type or color, I will still receive 1 Lira for each piece sold.
When you want to sell a harvested produce piece, you need to move the corresponding cube from your produce cart to an empty space in the matching Village on your Fulfillment Card. This signifies that you are selling the produce.
After transferring the cube, you must then move your Scoring Marker along the Scoring Track based on the type of produce and its price. You can sell as many produce pieces as you want at a village. It’s up to you whether you want to sell all or just a few pieces from your Cart Token. Keep in mind that you don’t have to sell any produce if you don’t want to, but it may not be the most advantageous strategy. Remember, undelivered produce pieces have no value.
Let me tell you what happened in this example. The Blue Player decided to sell all four Produce pieces at “Monterosso”. And guess what? He made a profit of 17 Lire! So cool! Here’s how he did it:
First, he took the sold pieces from the produce cart image and put them in the village on his Fulfillment Card. He lined them up in a horizontal row of spaces. Easy peasy!
Then, he moved his Scoring Marker 17 spaces forward. Wow, that’s a big leap! But hey, just so you know, the order of the Produce pieces on Fulfillment Cards doesn’t matter in this game. It’s all about that sweet profit!

Starting Orders and Produce Orders: An Explanation
Let me tell you about Starting Orders and Produce Orders. They might sound different, but they’re pretty much the same, except for their card backs and how many points they’re worth. Every time we start a game, we get a Starting Order. Our goal is to fulfill as many Produce Orders as we can. We can find these orders either in the row next to the Game Board or by getting them as a bonus when we make a delivery.
When we fulfill an Order card, we earn Lire. The amount of Lire we get is shown in the top left corner of the card. Each Order card has symbols next to certain villages. To complete an Order, we need to sell one type of Produce for each symbol next to a village on the card. So, we have to match the symbols on the card with the right Produce.
When I sell a certain type of produce in a village, I earn the right to accept future orders for that same type of produce in the same village. I don’t have to, but it might be a good idea to sell more of the same type of produce in one village.
Let’s take a look at the example on the next page. This player was able to claim 2 Produce Orders because of what he sold and recorded on his Fulfillment Card.

Hey there! Let’s talk about produce orders!
Imagine this: you’re in a quaint village called Corniglia, and there’s a delicious fruit called Arance that’s in high demand. Luckily, you have plenty of Arance to sell, so you can claim the first two orders. These orders specifically ask for Arance to be sold in Corniglia, just like they are shown on the left side.
But wait, there’s more! In the village of Monterosso, you have a type of Olive that’s flying off the shelves. This Olive can not only help fulfill the first order on the left, but it can also be used to meet the requirements of the Starting Order in Monterosso. Talk about versatility!

How to Claim Fulfilled Produce Orders
Now, let me explain how to claim your beautifully fulfilled Produce Orders. You can only do this at the very end of your turn, and only if your Fulfillment Card matches the requirements for each village stated on the Produce Order. Keep in mind, you can only claim one Produce Order per turn, even if you have more than one that is fulfilled on your Fulfillment Card. When you’re ready to claim your reward, simply take the Produce Order card from the row next to the Game Board and put it right in front of you alongside your Fulfillment Card. Oh, and don’t forget to move your Scoring Marker accordingly, based on the number displayed in the top left corner of the card.
Alright, let’s get down to business. First, I’ll pick up a Produce Order card and take a peek at it. Now, I have a choice: I can either keep that card or fill in the empty space next to the board. If I choose to fill it in, I have the option to draw a new card into my hand.
If I decide to draw a new card, I must keep it. But if I choose to keep the first card I drew, then I have to draw another card to fill the empty space next to the board. The goal is to make the row equal to the number of players. These Produce Orders I’m collecting will stay in my hand throughout the game, remaining a secret.
Now, let’s talk about claiming Most Popular Vendor (MPV) Cards.
If I manage to fill in all 8 spaces across any one village on my Fulfillment Cards by the end of my turn, then I can claim the corresponding “MPV” Village Card. It’s a great achievement!
Okay, here’s what you need to know. First, you can move your scoring marker based on the number shown on the MPV Card. But if you forget to claim one, any opponent can claim it as long as they meet the criteria. Just remember, you can only claim one MPV Card per turn.
The game will end when someone has claimed five produce orders and/or the most popular vendor (MPV) cards.
Now, here’s something important: any produce orders that you add to your hand as a “delivery bonus” will stay secret until the end of the game. They don’t count towards the five needed to trigger the end game.
Fulfilled Starting Orders
Throughout the game, keep your starting orders hidden. You can claim them during the end game scoring. If you don’t fulfill a starting order by the end of the game, you’ll lose victory points based on the order value.

So, here’s how we calculate the Starting Order values (30-?) First off, we add up the values of all 5 dice based on the produce types indicated on the card at each village. It’s pretty straightforward, really.
For instance, let’s take Monterosso as an example. Say, olives are sold there, and the black die is placed there during setup with a value of 4. So, the olives in Monterosso are worth 4.
But, what happens if there’s no corresponding die at a village? In that case, the produce type is worth 1. Simple, right? Okay, now comes the next step – we subtract the total amount added from all 5 dice from 30. This will give us the value of a Starting Order Card.
So, let’s say we have a Starting Order to the right, and after the calculations, it’s worth 11 Lire (30 – ).
When the Game Ends
There are two ways the game may end in a tie. Here they are:
- Your Turn
After I collect my fifth Produce Order card or MPV Card, or a combination of both, each player, including me, gets one last turn before the game ends. It’s important to note that any Orders I have in my hand don’t count toward the five cards needed to trigger the end game.
Alternatively, if two or more different types of Produce have been harvested from their Harvest Spaces, but not necessarily delivered, each player, including me, gets one final turn before the game ends.
Once the game ends, it’s time to calculate our final scores.
Calculating our scores involves adding up the points we earned from selling produce and claiming Produce Orders. To make sure we don’t miss anything, we can review our Fulfillment Cards and any face-up Produce Orders to double-check the Lire we earned.
First, you need to reveal all of the orders in your hand. If you successfully complete an order, you add the tie value of that order to your total score. However, if you have any incomplete produce orders, you must deduct 5 Lire for each produce piece that you didn’t fulfill.
Next, you must deduct Lire for any incomplete starting orders based on their calculated values.
The player who has the most Lire at the end of the game is the winner.
If two or more players have the same amount of Lire, the winner is determined by who has fulfilled the most orders of any kind. If there’s still a tie, then the player with the most produce pieces on their Fulfillment Card wins.

When it comes to the Starting Order, I can earn +11 Lire if I have the highest score, which is calculated by subtracting the combined total of all five produce types in the corresponding villages from 30. It’s like a little bonus for doing well.
But here’s the catch. If there’s a tie for the first secret Produce Order, I’ll get penalized and lose -5 Lire. So I better make sure I’m the sole winner there.
Oh, and did I mention that I didn’t fulfill the 12 “Funghi” in Corniglia? Bummer, I missed out on that one.
But hey, I made up for it with the second secret Produce Order! I completely fulfilled it and earned +13 Lire. Talk about a nice bonus!
