Chronicles of Crime Game Rules
Introduction
Hey there! Welcome to the world of “Chronicles of Crime.” In this game, you and your friends will become detectives, solving mysteries and catching criminals. The game is all about using your detective skills, your wits, and a bit of technology to crack the cases.
How to Play
So, how does this game work? Well, first, you’ll need a smartphone or a tablet to download the accompanying app. This app will act as your investigation tool throughout the game. It’s pretty cool, I must say.
Once you have the app ready, you’ll need to set up a case. Choose a scenario and read the story. Put yourself in the shoes of the detective and immerse yourself in the world of crime-solving. The app will present you with various locations to visit and people to talk to. It’s up to you to decide which leads to follow and what questions to ask. The choices you make will affect the outcome of the case, so choose wisely!
As you explore the crime scenes, you’ll find cards with QR codes on them. Use the app to scan these QR codes and get additional information. It’s like having your own secret detective gadget!
Throughout the game, you’ll also encounter different characters. Talk to them by using the app’s conversation feature. Ask them questions, gather clues, and piece together the puzzle.
Solving the Mystery
As you gather clues and interview suspects, you’ll start to form theories about what happened. Use the app’s deduction feature to test your theories. Guess who the culprit is, their motive, and how they committed the crime. If your theory matches the story in the app, congratulations! You’ve solved the mystery!
But be careful! The app will also present you with red herring cards. These are false leads that could throw you off track. Stay focused and don’t let them distract you.
Conclusion
So there you have it, the rules of “Chronicles of Crime.” It’s an exciting game that combines detective work with technology. With each case, you’ll dive deep into thrilling mysteries and work your way towards catching the bad guys. So grab your detective hat, download the app, and get ready to solve some crimes!

Picture this: you’re in the heart of London, with its bustling streets and towering skyline. But there’s something different about this place – a team of skilled forensic experts is on a mission to solve the most perplexing cases. Their job? To bring justice to the streets, leaving no crime unpunished. Their secret weapon? Evidence and motive.
When a crime is committed – a homicide, a robbery, or something even more unimaginable – it’s up to this team to piece together the puzzle. They scour the crime scene, carefully examining every detail, searching for hidden clues that will lead them to the truth. The stakes are high, but failure is not an option.
Their expertise lies in deciphering the messages left behind by the perpetrators. Every action has a motive, and it’s their job to unravel the intentions behind it. By connecting the dots, they can paint a picture of what happened, who was involved, and why.
But it’s not just about solving the mysteries; it’s about finding justice for the victims. Each case represents a life interrupted, a family torn apart. The forensic team understands the weight of their responsibility, and they carry it with utmost care.
Their work is a delicate dance between science and intuition. They must follow the evidence, but they must also trust their instincts. It’s a balance that requires both logic and creativity, an art form in itself.
So, the next time you walk the streets of London, remember that just beneath the surface, there are unsung heroes fighting to keep the city safe. They may be hidden in plain sight, but their impact is far-reaching. They are the guardians of justice, the ones who bring order to chaos.

Getting Ready

Hey there! Here’s what you need to do:
1. First, move the Location Boards to the side of the Evidence Board.
2. Then, place the Character Cards and Special Items Cards face down next to the Board.
3. The Evidence Category Cards are important and everyone gets some. Make sure to share them among all the players.
4. The same goes for the Forensic Contacts. Everyone gets some, so be sure to divide them up fairly.

If you’re looking to set the Home Location on the Board properly, follow these steps:
First, let’s take a look at the Evidence Board. It consists of:
– 20 slots for Evidence
– 6 slots for Locations
– 3 slots for Unlocated Characters
Each Location Board contains 3 slots for characters.
Once you have everything set up, it’s time to launch the app. Choose the scenario and episode you want to play.
Note: If you’re new to the game, I recommend trying the short tutorial investigation to familiarize yourself with how it works. The instructions for the game are provided in this scenario, so you’ll get a clear understanding.
Ready to Play
To progress in Chronicles of Crime, you’ll need to scan the Location, Character, and Evidence Category cards. When the scan window appears, simply point your device at the QR code on the card or board. Wait for the code to turn green, then tap anywhere to trigger the scan.

When you play the game, there are a variety of actions you can take by scanning different types of cards. Let me walk you through them:
1. Scan a Location card: If you want to move to a different location within the game, scanning a Location card will allow you to do just that. It’s a way to explore different areas and uncover new clues.
2. Scan a Character card: If you want to gather information about a specific character in the game, scanning a Character card is the way to go. Once you’ve scanned the card, the character will answer any questions you have about other characters or evidence. It’s like having a conversation with them. To exit this mode, simply press the “goodbye” button.
3. Scan an Evidence Category card: If you spot a clue during your gameplay, scanning an Evidence Category card will allow you to pick it up. Scanning this card will provide you with additional details about the clue. If the clue is important, it will indicate that you should add it to your evidence board for future reference.
4. Scan a Forensic Contact: If you need to get in touch with your contact within the game, scanning a Forensic Contact card will let you make a call. Once you’re on the call, every subsequent scan will make your contact provide information or talk about the topic you’re interested in. To end the call, simply press the “goodbye” button.
These actions are the key to progressing in the game and uncovering the truth. Remember to explore all your options and use these scans strategically to gain an edge. Enjoy playing!
Let’s talk about which card we should scan as a group.
- We need to make sure the room is well-lit so that there are no harsh shadows.
- It’s best to scan sleeved cards to avoid any glare or reflections.
- Make sure the camera on your phone is clean; dirt can affect the scan quality.
Discovering Locations, Characters, or Special Items
We should keep the Locations, Characters, and Special Items cards face down until the application tells us otherwise.
As we play the game, some of these cards will be revealed. They have symbols on them, along with a number or letter.

New Locations need to be placed on one of the 6 spots for Locations on the side of the board.

When you want to add new characters to your game, you need to keep a few things in mind. New Characters should be placed on one of the 3 Character slots at the location indicated.

If you’re not sure where a character is on the board, you can place them in an “unlocated characters” slot. Just remember to move them once you find out where they belong!

When I’m investigating a crime scene, I come across these special cards called Evidence Category cards. They can be a game-changer in solving the case. These cards are like little clues waiting to be discovered. To find them, I carefully search the scene, keeping an eye out for anything out of the ordinary. Once I find an Evidence Category card, I take it and place it on the Evidence Board. That’s where the real magic happens. The Evidence Board helps me piece together the puzzle of the case and bring the culprit to justice. Without these cards, my investigation would be missing something crucial. So, I make sure to pay close attention and find as many Evidence Category cards as I can. They are my secret weapon in cracking the case!

Example: So, here’s what you do: take a look at Location F and give the screen a good read.
Okay, so now you need to find character 33 and put it in one of the slots on the Character board at Location F.
Next up, search for Location D and place it right next to the board in one of the 6 available slots.

Location Cards:
When someone searches for a hotel or restaurant on the internet, they are often confronted with a barrage of options. It can be overwhelming to sort through all the information and make a decision. That’s where location cards come in. Location cards are a tool that allows businesses to present their information in an accessible and visually appealing way.
A location card is a compact snippet of information that provides essential details about a business or place. It typically includes the name, address, phone number, and website of the business, along with a brief description and sometimes a photo. These cards are designed to give users a quick overview of a business and entice them to learn more.
For example, let’s say you’re looking for a place to have dinner in a new city. You search “restaurants near me” and are bombarded with a list of options. Scrolling through the results, you see a series of location cards. Each card displays the name of the restaurant, its address, phone number, and a mouthwatering photo of a delicious dish.
As you scan the cards, you get a sense of each restaurant’s atmosphere and style. Maybe one card features a cozy interior with dim lighting, while another showcases a vibrant outdoor patio overlooking a bustling street. The descriptions offer tantalizing tidbits about the restaurant’s specialties, such as “authentic wood-fired pizza” or “farm-to-table cuisine.”
Location cards serve as a springboard for further exploration. If you’re intrigued by a particular restaurant, you can click on the card to access more detailed information. This might include customer reviews, hours of operation, and a menu. Armed with this additional information, you can make an informed decision about where to dine.
In summary, location cards are a valuable tool for businesses and users alike. They provide a concise and visually appealing way to present information, helping users make decisions amidst a sea of options. So next time you’re searching for a place to eat or stay, keep an eye out for those enticing location cards. They just might lead you to your new favorite spot.

Look for Clues
When I’m trying to learn more about a topic, one of the first things I do is search for evidence. It’s like being a detective, searching for clues to solve a mystery. And you can do the same!
Start by looking for reliable sources of information. Websites that end in .gov or .edu are a good place to start because they often have trustworthy and up-to-date information. You can also look for articles written by experts in the field or books published by reputable publishers.
Next, take a closer look at the information you find. Are there any citations or references? This can be a clue that the information is based on solid evidence. Look for quotes or statistics that support the claims being made.
It’s also important to consider the source of the information. Who wrote it? Are they an expert on the topic? Do they have any bias or conflicts of interest that might influence what they say? Asking these questions can help you evaluate the credibility of the information.
Finally, don’t forget to trust your own judgment. If something seems too good to be true or doesn’t quite make sense, it’s worth digging deeper to find out more. You can use your critical thinking skills to analyze the information and come to your own conclusions.
So remember, when you’re searching for evidence, be like a detective and look for clues. Consider the source, evaluate the credibility, and trust your own judgment. By doing this, you can find reliable information and become an expert in your own right. Happy sleuthing!
Do you ever find yourself interested in solving mysteries? Well, I have some fascinating news for you. In certain places, like crime scenes, you can actually hunt for evidence! How awesome is that?

Click the button to start searching.
You have two options when looking for proof:

- In 3D: Just place the glasses in the middle of the screen, right over the yellow line on the phone.
- In panoramic view: Select this option to explore the crime scene without needing any extra devices.
You have 40 seconds to take a good look at the scene and describe what you see to your friends.
Your friends will then search for Evidence Category Cards that match your description. Make sure to keep these cards face-up and accessible to all players who aren’t using the app to search.
When time is up, you can either have another player continue to search for clues or you can stop. Keep in mind, though, that this additional search will take up more in-game time.
Finally, scan all the Evidence Category Cards that were chosen. The phone will let you know if any of the cards are important clues to place on the Evidence Board.
Important: If you try the game without VR Glasses, make sure to look around and see the place in 360 degrees. Or, you can swipe left or right on the screen to observe the scene.
Time Passing and Special Events
In Chronicles of Crime, time is a big deal.
You can easily check the current time on the top right corner of the screen.
Every time you do something in the game, like scanning an item or questioning a suspect or checking out a scene, it takes 5 minutes of game time.
Every time you go from one place to another, it takes 20 minutes of game time.
The amount of time that passes in the game affects your final score.
If you solve the case quickly, you’ll get a better score.
In some situations, the passage of time can change things in the game.
But time can also work against you.
End of the Game
When you think you’ve figured out the case, you can give your report to your boss.

Hey there! Let’s head back to the Home location and press that button. We’re about to embark on a fun little journey that involves answering some questions. Just give our cards a quick scan and choose the ones that back up your deductions. The score you get will be based on the answers you provide.
