Welcome to the Chocolate Factory Game!
Rules:
So, you want to know how to play the Chocolate Factory Game? Well, I’m here to give you the lowdown. It’s quite simple, really.
First things first, you need some players. This game is best played with a group of friends, so gather up your buddies and let’s get started!
Now, each player will take turns spinning the spinner. What’s the spinner, you ask? Well, it’s this nifty little device that decides what you do next in the game.
When it’s your turn to spin, give it a whirl and see what it lands on. Maybe you’ll get lucky and land on “Eat a Chocolate” square. Yum! If that happens, you get to enjoy a tasty piece of chocolate.
But beware, not every square is as sweet as chocolate. You might land on “Skip a Turn” and have to sit out for a round. Or worse, you could land on “Steal a Chocolate” and have to take another player’s precious treat.
As you can see, luck plays a big role in this game. You never know what the spinner will decide. That’s what makes it so exciting!
The game continues with each player taking turns spinning the spinner and following the instructions. The goal is to be the player with the most chocolates at the end of the game.
So, are you ready to enter the Chocolate Factory? Gather your friends, spin that spinner, and let the game begin! Good luck and may the chocolate gods be on your side!

I want to show you what comes in the box when you buy this game. It’s pretty cool because you get a lot of stuff! Here’s a list of everything that’s included:
– 12 Boxes
– 36 Player Markers
– 1 Bookkeeping Board
– 1 Day Marker
– 1 Start Player Marker
– 30 Factory Part Cards
– 4 Factory Boards
– 30 Conveyor Tiles
– 18 ‘?50’ Coins
– 40 Coal Tokens
– 54 Corner Shop Order Cards
– 5 Department Store Order Cards
– 26 Factory Manager Cards
– 4 Store Room & Coal Bunker Cards
– 4 Player Reference Cards
– Instructions
Okay, now that you know what you’re getting, let’s talk about how to set everything up. First, we’ll start with the bookkeeping board.
Okay, let’s get started! Here’s what I suggest:
First, put the Bookkeeping board right in the middle of the table.
Now, for step number one: Take the Day marker and place it on the ‘Monday’ space of the week track.
For step number two, grab the ?50 coins and put them in the marked space.
For step number three, you need to sort the Factory Parts into two decks, which we’ll call A and B. Shuffle each deck separately. After that, take the B deck and place it face down on the marked space. Then, take the A deck and stack it, also face down, on top of the B deck.
Step number four is all about the Corner Shop Order cards. Sort them into three decks: Small, Medium, and Large (just like it shows on the back of the card). Shuffle each deck separately. Once you’re done shuffling, place the decks face down on their marked spaces.
Finally, step number five. Take the Department Store orders and lay them below the Bookkeeping board, lining them up with the corresponding positions along the bottom edge. If this is your first game, make sure to turn each order card to its A side. In later games, you can mix it up and choose any combination of A and B sides, or even select them randomly.
And there you have it! That’s how you set up the game. It may seem a bit confusing at first, but once you get the hang of it, it’ll be a breeze. So go ahead and give it a try! Have fun!
In this game, I’m going to show you how to organize the Employee cards into different decks. We have five decks: The Palace Boutique, Fresh Fancies, Salter’s Emporium, House of Luxury, and Dunstan & Gilbert’s. First, we need to shuffle each deck separately. Once shuffled, place the decks face down on top of the Bookkeeping board. Each deck corresponds to one of the Department Stores located below the board.
Now let’s talk about the Factory Boards.
Each player needs 1 Factory board, 7 Conveyor tiles, 1 Store Room & Coal Bunker card, 1 Reference card, and 9 Player markers of their chosen color. In this step, you will place your Factory board in front of you, with the pre-printed Factory Parts in the top left corner. Next, lay 4 Conveyor tiles into the channel of your Factory. The remaining 3 Conveyor tiles should be placed beside your Factory, on the left-hand side.
Now, take your Store Room & Coal Bunker card and Reference card and place them beside your Factory on the right side. Make sure not to place it on the “Factory manager only” side.
In this game, we each get three Corner Shop Order cards – one small, one medium, and one large. These cards show us what we need to make in our factory.
First, let’s set up our player markers:
- Put one marker next to each of your Corner Shop Order cards.
- Put one marker next to each Department Store Order card.
- Put one marker on the Bookkeeping board, on the ‘0’ space of the money track.
Supply
We need to make sure we have all the necessary materials. Let’s put all the chocolate and coal in a common supply beside the play area. We should also have one spare Conveyor tile, just in case. Any unused Factory boards, Conveyor tiles, and Player markers can go back in the box.
Have you ever wondered how much each of those tiny tokens of coal or chocolate is worth in this game? Well, guess what? I have got the answer for you! Each small Coal token is worth 1 coal, while the larger ones are worth 3 coal. Isn’t that interesting?
Guess Who Starts?
Now, let’s talk about who gets to be the start player. Do you know the secret? The start player marker goes to the player who has eaten chocolate most recently. Yes, you heard me right! The person with the freshest taste of chocolate gets to start the game. Yummy!
About Your Factory
Chocolate Conveyor Tiles
Welcome to your factory! The conveyor tiles are here to help you move those scrumptious chocolate pieces through your factory. But that’s not all – you also have the amazing Factory Parts that allow you to work your magic on those delicious treats.
Let’s start with the raw materials for your factory. You’ll be using beans, which come in a fancy black color. These beans can be roasted to turn into cocoa, which you’ll recognize as those brown squares. You can then shape the cocoa into chocolate bars, which come in two forms: chunks or fingers. These bars will have the same rich brown color as cocoa. After that, you can take things up a notch by adding either caramel (in a lovely yellow color) or nuts (in a vibrant red color) to create wrapped chocolates. And finally, you can create the ultimate indulgence – boxed chocolates in a beautiful blue color.
Hey there! Let’s talk about chocolate, one of my favorite treats! All of these delicious goodies, like Beans and Cocoa, are known as ‘Chocolate pieces’ or simply ‘chocolates’. Now, there are different types of chocolates, such as Bars, Wrapped, and Boxed chocolates, which are called ‘refined chocolates’.
Let’s Get Technical
Each Factory Part is essential for processing the Chocolate pieces on the Conveyor tile either above or below it. Coal is required each time you use a Factory Part. The furnace icon on the Factory Part shows you how much coal is needed to operate it.

Employees
Hey there! Let’s talk about the amazing employees in the game. Every day, you get to pick one employee to help you with your daily production. These employees are really special because they give you a special gift, benefit, or action.
Oh, and here’s the best part – at the end of the day, you can fulfill one of the five department store order cards. Isn’t that cool? The employee you choose will tell you which order card you have the opportunity to fulfill.
But remember, at the end of the day, you have to say goodbye to your employee and choose a new one the next day. So you’ll always have new and exciting employees to work with!
Fulfilling Orders
Every day, you have the opportunity to use the chocolate pieces in your store to complete your own personal Corner Shop order cards. Plus, there’s a chance to tackle one of the challenging Department Store Order cards.
If this is your first time playing, take a look at the ‘fulfill orders’ and ‘End of the game’ sections for a clear understanding of how fulfilling Corner Shop and Department Store Order cards will earn you money.

The Goal of the Game
In this game, you and I will compete for six days to see who can create the best and most efficient factory, hire the top employees, and make the most money by fulfilling orders from local corner shops and big department stores.
Whoever earns the most money will be crowned the winner
How to Play
Ready to dive into the game? Over the course of six days, we will go through five different phases, in the following order:

- Get Ready
- Grow & Attract
- Operate Factory
- Fulfill Orders
- Clean Up
1. Get Ready
Receive Coal
First things first, I need to give you some coal. How much? Well, that depends on what day it is. On Mondays, I’ll hand you 5 lumps of coal. On Tuesdays, make it 6. And so on. Just remember, if you don’t use all your coal today, keep it in your coal bunker for later.
Set Up Display
Let’s see. I’ll draw 5 Factory Parts and show them to you. They’ll go right here in the middle of the playing area. Now, we need to make packets for each player. How many packets? Well, that depends on how many of you are playing:
- If there are 2 of you, we’ll make 2 packets. One will have 3 Parts, and the other will have 2 Parts.
- If there are 3 of you, we’ll make 3 packets. Two will have 2 Parts each, and the other will have 1 Part.
I’m going to rewrite this text to make it easier to understand. Here’s the new version:
- When we play with 4 people, we divide the cards into 4 sets.
We take the cards one by one and divide them randomly into different sets. For example, in a game with 2 players, we make the first set with the first three cards, and the second set with the next two cards.
Next, we draw 5 employees from the employee decks. We shuffle these cards and place them face up in the middle of the playing area. We make sure to divide them into sets, just like we did with the cards. It’s important that everyone can see all the cards. We recommend that the person who drew the employees reads the text on each card and tells us which department store the employee belongs to.
When playing “Chocolate Factory,” it’s important to understand the rules so that you can make the most of your experience. Let me walk you through the second rule, which is all about expanding and recruiting.
I’ll start by explaining the turn order. The player who has the Start Player Marker goes first, and then the turns continue in a clockwise direction. So, it’s important to keep an eye on your position in the order.
Now, on your turn, you have two options. You can either choose one packet of Factory Parts or one packet of Employees. It’s up to you to decide which one will benefit you the most at that moment.
If you decide to choose a packet that contains more than one Part or Employee, you need to make a quick decision. Pick one that you want to keep, and discard the others. Those discarded items are removed from the game, so choose wisely.
The turn order is important because the last player to choose, going clockwise from the start player, gets the advantage of choosing both a packet of Factory Parts and a packet of Employees. This can be a strategic move, so keep an eye on what others are doing.
After that, the turn order reverses, and players go anti-clockwise back towards the start player. Each player gets to choose a second packet of the type they haven’t chosen yet. This ensures that everyone ends up with one new Factory Part and one new Employee.
Now, let’s talk about the Factory Parts. These are essential for running your chocolate factory smoothly. They can be anything from machinery to equipment or even ingredients. Each Factory Part brings its own benefits and can help you improve your production process.
Remember, the key to success in “Chocolate Factory” lies in making smart decisions when it comes to expanding your factory and recruiting new employees. Choose wisely, and you’ll be on your way to becoming a chocolate-making master!
Hey there! Let’s talk about choosing a position for your new Factory Part, shall we?
First things first, you get to pick a spot in your Factory where you want to place the new Part. But here’s the catch, if you want to cover up an existing Part, you can totally do that. It might mean saying goodbye to the three original Parts printed on your Factory board, though. And remember, once you place a Part, you can’t move it around. Plus, if you choose to cover a Part, you won’t get any compensation. Tough choice, right?
Employee
Now let me tell you about the Employee. When you get a new Employee, you place them face up beside your Factory. And here’s the cool part – each Employee comes with a special Gift, Benefit, or Action that you can use during the day.
- Gift: With the Gift, you can immediately take something awesome from the supply.
- Benefit: The Benefit gives you a bonus that you can use one or more times throughout the day. How cool is that?
- Action: Most of the time, the Action gives you a special move that you can do once during the day. When you’re done with the Action, just rotate the card sideways to show that you’ve used it. Simple, right?
Hey, here’s something important for you to know: as an employee, you get to decide which orders from the Department Store you want to fulfill at the end of the day. It’s up to you to choose!
3. Run Factory
Now it’s time to run your own Factory! Each day, you’ll have three Shifts to work on. Use the Conveyor tiles beside your Factory, one by one, and spend your coal to operate the Parts in any order and combination you want. It’s all up to you!
By the way: If everyone agrees, we can all run our Factories at the same time. What do you think?
Running a Shift
Okay, let’s break it down. When you’re running a Shift, here’s what you need to do:
First, load
Then, push
Finally, operate
- Just remember, you can only operate each Factory Part once during a Shift. You can’t use extra coal to operate it again and again.
When using a Part, you need to take into account the amount of coal needed, indicated beside the furnace symbol. To operate the Part, simply transfer that amount of coal from your coal bunker to the Part. This helps you keep track of the Parts you’ve used during each working period.
Each Factory Part can only process chocolates on the conveyor tile directly above or below it.
It’s important to remember that during each shift, you can’t operate any Parts until you’ve pushed a new conveyor tile into your Factory. You must follow the Load, Push, and Operate steps in that specific order.
It is also important to note that if you still have one or more Conveyor tiles left by the entrance to your Factory, you must begin another Shift immediately by going back to step 1.
Now let’s talk about the basic Factory Parts.
Working with chocolate is as tricky as it is satisfying. It can be a bit of a puzzle, and there’s a lot to consider. Let me fill you in.
So, here’s the deal: when it comes to chocolate production, most machines can only handle one piece at a time. Trust me, it’s a challenge. You see, chocolate is a delicate beast. It requires precision and care. And that’s why it’s crucial to have the right equipment.
Imagine this: you’re in charge of a chocolate factory. Your mission is to produce as many delicious chocolate bars as possible. But hold on, you’re not just pressing a button and out come the bars. Oh no, my friend. It’s not that simple.
Let me break it down for you. Each part of the machine has a specific task. They all work together like a well-oiled machine (pun intended!). But here’s the kicker: each part can only do its thing on one chocolate bar at a time. Yep, you heard me right. One. At. A. Time.
Now, you might be wondering why this is such a big deal. Why can’t we just throw a bunch of chocolates in there and call it a day? Well, my friend, here’s the thing: chocolate has feelings too. Okay, maybe not feelings per se, but it’s sensitive. It needs individual attention and care.
Think of it this way. If you were a piece of chocolate, how would you like it if someone just plopped you down on a conveyer belt with a bunch of other chocolates, squishing you together, all crowded and uncomfortable? Not a pleasant thought, right? Well, chocolate feels the same way.
So, the next time you indulge in a delicious chocolate bar, take a moment to appreciate the careful process that goes into making it. Remember, each piece of chocolate gets its special treatment during a single shift. It’s a small detail that makes a big difference.
Roster
Hey there! Want to know a cool trick? With just 1 piece of coal, you can turn a Bean into a Cocoa on the conveyor tile below the Roster. Here’s how it works: you place the coal on the Part, then take a Bean from the Conveyor tile and return it to the supply. Finally, you grab a Cocoa from the supply and put it on the Conveyor tile in place of the Bean. Pretty neat, right?
Upgrader
Now, here’s another secret for you. With just 1 piece of coal, you can upgrade a chocolate on the conveyor tile below the Upgrader. Check it out: you take any chocolate from the Conveyor tile and put it back in the supply. Then, you grab an upgraded chocolate from the supply and replace the one you just took. Here’s the cool part:
- A Bean can be upgraded into 1 Cocoa.
- 1 Cocoa can be upgraded into 1 Bar (either Chunks or Fingers).
- 1 Bar (either Chunks or Fingers) can be upgraded into 1 Wrapped chocolate (either Caramel or Nuts).
- 1 Wrapped chocolate (either Caramel or Nuts) can be upgraded into 1 Boxed chocolate.
Right here on the Bookkeeping board, I’ve got all the details for you about how you can upgrade your chocolates.
The Chute Is Pretty Cool
Let me tell you about the Chute! It’s a special feature in your Factory that works differently from the rest. When you use it, you can take one or more of the chocolates on the Conveyor tile below the Chute and put them in your store room. No need for coal to operate the Chute, and you can use it more than once during a Shift.
Meet the Other Factory Parts
Each Factory Part has its own unique function and allows you to process specific chocolates. How do you know which chocolates a Part can handle? Just look at the icons on the Part. Each icon represents one chocolate piece. Remember, it’s not about all the pieces of that type on the conveyor, just one!
Converters
I want to talk to you about a fascinating tool called a converter. Let’s dive right in and explore this amazing technology together!
A converter is a special device that can change one thing into another. It’s like magic! With a converter, you can transform words, numbers, and even units of measurement. It’s a handy tool that comes in many different forms, depending on what you need to convert.
There are language converters that can change words from one language into words from another language. Say you’re reading a book in French, but you don’t speak French. No problem! Just use a language converter, and it will change all the words into English so you can understand. It’s like having your very own translator.
But converters don’t stop at words. They can also change numbers. For example, if you have a measurement in inches but you need to know the same measurement in centimeters, a converter can do the calculation for you. It takes the inches and converts them into centimeters, so you don’t have to do any math. It’s a time-saver!
And let’s not forget about unit converters. These amazing tools can change one unit of measurement into another unit. Have you ever needed to know how many pounds are in a kilogram? Just use a unit converter, and it will tell you. You don’t have to worry about remembering all those conversion formulas. The converter does the work for you.
In conclusion, converters are incredible tools that can transform words, numbers, and units of measurement. They make our lives easier by doing all the hard work for us. Whether you need to convert languages, measurements, or units, a converter is the perfect tool for the job. So the next time you come across something you need to convert, remember to reach for your trusty converter. It will save you time and make your life a little bit easier.

Did you know that most Factory Parts work just like the regular Roaster? It’s pretty neat.
Here’s how it works: each part, known as a converter, takes a piece of chocolate on the conveyor and lets you transform it into one or more different pieces. Cool, right? But here’s the catch – you can only do this conversion once per shift. Bummer.

Did you know that some converters give you the option to pick the type of chocolate you want after the conversion? It’s pretty cool!
Let me show you a couple of examples:
Example 1: If you have 2 coal, you can exchange it for 2 wrapped chocolates. And the best part is that you get to choose between caramel or nuts! You can even have two different flavors if you want.
Example 2: Now, if you have 4 coal, you can convert it into 2 chocolates of your choice. That means you can pick any two chocolates you want! It doesn’t matter if you want the same kind or different flavors.

Hey there, chocolate lover! Let me tell you about a cool feature some converters have – the ability to let you choose which chocolates you want to convert. How awesome is that?
Let me give you a couple of examples to make it crystal clear:
First example: If you have 2 pieces of coal, you can convert 1 Bar of chocolate (either Chunks or Fingers – your pick!) into 2 delicious Boxed chocolates. Yum!
Second example: Now, let’s say you’ve got 3 pieces of coal. This time, you get to choose any 1 refined chocolate (Bar, Wrapped, or Boxed) and convert it into any 2 chocolates of your choice. And guess what? Those 2 chocolates can be the same or different! The power of choice is in your hands.

Hey there! I want to explain something cool to you. There are these things called converters that have two options, and each option works with a different type of chocolate. But, here’s the catch – when you use a converter, you can only choose one of those options.
Let me give you an example to make it clear. Imagine you have 1 coal with you. With that 1 coal, you can choose to either convert 1 Fingers into 1 Nuts or convert 1 Chunks into 2 Nuts. But, you need to remember that you can’t do both conversions at the same time. Got it?

Hey there! I’ve got a cool trick to share with you. Some Parts require you to work with two chocolates at once. It’s a bit tricky, but with some practice, you’ll get the hang of it!
Let me give you an example. Picture this: you have 1 coal. You can use that coal to do two different things. You can either convert 1 Bean into 1 Cocoa, or convert 2 Beans into 1 Chunk and 1 Finger. Sounds pretty sweet, right? But here’s the catch: you can’t do both conversions at the same time. It’s one or the other.
Now, let’s check out another example. Imagine you have 4 coal. With that amount, you have even more possibilities. You can take any 2 refined chocolates you like (whether it’s a Bar, Wrapped, or Boxed chocolate), and convert them into 1 Chunk, 1 Finger, 1 Caramel, 1 Nuts, and 1 Boxed chocolate. How awesome is that?
Upgraders

Hey there! I’m here to tell you about these cool things called Two Factory Parts. They’re like souped-up versions of the basic Upgrader. They let you take the upgrade action more than once during a single Shift. Pretty nifty, right?
So, when you use a Two Factory Part to take an upgrade action, you get to choose any chocolate on the conveyor tile above or below the Part to upgrade. You can do this every time you take the upgrade action.
Let me give you an example. You can use two actions to upgrade the same chocolate twice using a Two Factory Part. Then, with your remaining action, you can upgrade a different chocolate. It’s like a triple upgrade extravaganza!
But Wait, There’s More!

The chocolate factory has two parts called Repeaters. One Repeater is located in the A deck, and the other is in the B deck. These Repeaters have an important job. They can either duplicate or triplicate a single piece of chocolate on the conveyor.
If you choose to duplicate a piece, you can pick any one chocolate piece on the conveyor that is directly above or below the Repeater. Take an exact copy of that piece from the supply and place it on the same conveyor tile.
If you decide to triplicate a piece, things get even more exciting. Take two copies of the chocolate piece from the supply and place them on the same conveyor tile.
Moving the Chocolates to Your Store Room
Now, let me explain what happens when you push a conveyor tile into your factory. It’s like magic! When one tile goes in, another tile comes out at the other end. But before that happens, make sure to remove all the chocolates on the new tile and put them into your store room. You can find your store room in the lower half of your Store Room & Coal Bunker card. Don’t forget to leave the conveyor tile beside the exit of your factory.
During the ‘Operate’ step, you have the freedom to make a decision at any time. That decision is simple: move the chocolates on the Conveyor below your Chute into your store room. This action doesn’t cost you anything in terms of coal – it’s absolutely free. You can do this when the chocolates are pushed out on the conveyor or when you use the Chute.
Once you move a chocolate into your store room, there’s no going back. It’s there to stay – you can’t send it back to your Factory. Once in, it’s in for good.
Just keep in mind that if you cover up the Chute with another Factory Part, you won’t be able to remove chocolates from that position on the conveyor anymore. You’ll have to wait for them to be pushed out on their own.
So, remember, during the ‘Operate’ step, you’re in control. You can choose to move the chocolates into your store room without any cost. But once they’re in, they’re in for good. And if you cover up the Chute, you’ll have to wait for the chocolates to make their own way out.
So here’s the deal, my friend. At the end of each day from Monday to Friday, it’s like this: any chocolates that are on your conveyor belt stay put in your Factory. You can only move chocolates into your store room if they get pushed out on the conveyor or if you use the Chute.
Now, here’s where things get interesting. When you run your factory on the sixth day, which is Saturday, you’ve got to move all of the chocolate pieces from wherever they are in your Factory and put them into your store room. This is your last chance to fulfill any orders before it’s all over.
Now, how about trading some chocolates for coal? Hear me out.
While you’re running your Factory, you always have the option to trade one or more of the chocolates that are already in your store room for an equal amount of coal. That means you can swap any type of chocolate you want, whether it’s Beans or Cocoa, in any combination you like.
If you trade chocolates, give them back to the supply and get 1 coal for each chocolate you give back. You can do this anytime and use the coal right away or save it for later.
Using an Employee
You can decide to use your Employee’s action or benefit during the Run Factory phase if it’s applicable.
4. Fulfill Orders
Go in order and use the chocolate in your store room to complete any combination of your current Corner Shop Order cards and the one Department Store Order card that goes with your Employee.
If everyone agrees, players can fulfill their orders at the same time.
Before you complete orders on Saturday, move all the chocolates from your Factory to your store room.
Corner Shop Orders
When you place an order at the Corner Shop, there are different stages to fulfill. Each stage is worth more money and requires a specific number of Refined Chocolates. You can complete multiple stages at once, but you must do them in order, starting with the least valuable stage.
To complete a stage, you need to take the chocolates shown and return them to the supply. When you do this:
- Record the money you earned by moving your Player marker on the money track on the Bookkeeping board. Every time you reach or pass the ‘0’ space, you get a ?50 coin.
- Move your Player marker up to the stage you just completed on the Corner Shop Order card.
Completed Corner Shop Orders
When you finish the last step of an order at the Corner Shop, you need to move your Player marker and put the finished order face down on top of your Factory board. Later, in the Cleanup phase, you’ll get to pick a new order to take its place.
Keep in mind: Once the game is over, the player or players with the most completed Corner Shop orders will earn ?12. It’s not a secret how many orders you’ve completed.

In a single turn, I managed to come up with a nut, a caramel, and three pieces of finger chocolate. The nut and caramel helped me complete my order at the Small Corner Shop, while the three pieces of finger chocolate came in handy for the second and final stage of the medium Corner Shop order. Thanks to these orders, I earned ?14.
Now let’s talk about Department Store Orders. At the beginning of the day, the employee I hired determines which of the five Department Store Orders I can fulfill. Each order specifies the types of chocolates I need to provide and allows me to move my player marker along the track on the Department Store Order card. If I land on a space occupied by another player’s marker, I stack mine on top.
When it comes to the Department Store tracks, it’s important to understand that each track has 9 spaces. This means that you can move your marker a maximum of 9 spaces on each track. If you try to move your marker further than that, any additional movement will be lost.
Let’s take a look at the Department Store Order cards. At the top of each card, you will find the amount of money you will earn at the end of the game based on the order and position of your Player markers on the card.
Welcome to The Palace Boutique!
Explore the A Side

When it comes to supplying chocolates, you can choose from a variety of refined options. Whether you prefer chunks, fingers, caramel, nuts, or boxed chocolates, you’ll be able to satisfy your sweet tooth. And the best part is, when you supply chocolates of the same type, you’ll get to move one space forward along the track. It’s a delicious way to make progress in the game!
Now, let’s take a look at the B Side of the chocolate factory. This side is called “Fresh Fancies,” and it offers its own set of delightful surprises. Just take a look at the image below to get an idea of what to expect.
Of course, there’s also the A Side of the chocolate factory to explore. Each side has its own unique charms, so you can choose which one you prefer. Whichever side you choose, you’ll be in for a sweet adventure!

Supply Chunks chocolates, and I’ll move 1 space along the track for each chocolate I provide.
Now, let’s switch things up and take a look at the B Side.
Welcome to Salter’s Emporium – your one-stop shop for all things chocolate! Here, you’ll find a wide variety of mouthwatering treats to satisfy your sweet tooth.
To get started, simply supply me with some delicious Chunks chocolates, and I’ll take care of the rest. For every chocolate you give me, I’ll move 1 space along the track. It’s a sweet deal, isn’t it?
Now, let’s dive into the A Side.

Supplying Caramel chocolates allows players to advance one space along the track for each chocolate they provide. This is a crucial tactic to master in order to excel in the game. As I delve deeper into the strategy of this game, I come across the enticing B Side, which is known as the “House Of Luxury.” Just the name alone piques my curiosity. What could be waiting for me there? I can’t help but imagine all the possibilities.
As I explore further, I stumble upon an image of the B Side, the House Of Luxury. The image speaks volumes, calling me to experience the grandeur and opulence within. I can almost taste the exquisite chocolates and feel the luxurious ambiance. This visual revelation only intensifies my desire to venture into the House Of Luxury and discover the treasures it holds.
However, the A Side also beckons me with its own allure. It is the starting point of my chocolate factory adventure, where I must lay the foundation of my chocolatier legacy. As I ponder my next move, I realize that the A Side offers its own set of possibilities and challenges. It is the launching pad for my journey, where every decision matters.
In this game, every step counts, and the choices I make shape the outcome of my chocolate factory venture. The A Side and the B Side both hold promises and excitement, but only by understanding and harnessing their unique strengths can I truly excel. It’s a delicate balance, and it’s up to me to make the right moves and maximize my chances of success.
So, whether I decide to start on the A Side and build my empire from the ground up or venture into the House Of Luxury on the B Side, I know that every decision I make will have a ripple effect. With each chocolate I supply, I feel a surge of excitement and anticipation, knowing that I am progressing closer to my ultimate goal.
In the end, it’s not just about the chocolate or the game itself. It’s about the journey, the strategies, and the memories I create along the way. As I navigate the twists and turns of the chocolate factory, I realize that it’s not just a game; it’s an adventure. And I’m ready to embark on this sweet, tantalizing quest.

Supplying Boxed chocolates will allow you to move 1 space forward on the track for each chocolate you provide. Here are the rules for Dun Gilbert’s chocolate factory:

A Side:
Remember, if you supply Boxed chocolates, you can move ahead on the track and gain an advantage in Dun Gilbert’s chocolate factory. Keep these rules in mind as you play!

When you supply wrapped or boxed chocolates in any combination, you move 1 space along the track for every two chocolates you supply.
B Side
5. Cleanup
The game lasts 6 days, Monday-Saturday. At the end of the first five days, we get ready for the next day as follows:
At the end of Saturday, we skip this phase and proceed to ‘End of the Game’.
Store Chocolates and Coal
At the end of each day, you can keep up to 2 chocolates in your store room for the next day.
If you have any excess chocolates that you cannot keep, including Beans and Cocoa, you must trade them for 1 coal each. You can keep any amount of coal in your coal bunker for use during the next day.
Reset Conveyor Tiles
Put the Conveyor tiles that you pushed out of your Factory back beside the entrance.
If one of your employees gave you an extra Conveyor tile, you can return it to the supply.
Let’s talk about discarding an employee. You need to discard the employee you recruited when the day started.
Now, let’s discuss replacing completed Corner Shop orders. For each Corner Shop order you completed, you get to choose a new one. Here’s how it works: Draw one order from each of the three decks (Small, Medium, and Large). Choose one of these three orders to place above your Factory. You don’t have to choose an order of the same type. Any orders you didn’t choose should be placed face down at the bottom of their respective decks.
Next, we’ll talk about moving the day and start player markers. Move the Day marker ahead by one space on the week track. Pass the Start Player marker to the person sitting clockwise to you. After that, we’ll go back to ‘Phase 1. Prepare’ to continue playing the game and start a new day.
Now, let’s talk about how the game ends.
By the end of the sixth day, I can earn money for fulfilling Department Store Orders and for any remaining chocolates and coal.
No penalties apply if I didn’t fulfill stages of my current CornerShop Orders.
Remember: Before I fulfill orders on Saturday, I need to move all the chocolates from my Factory into my store room.
Corner Shop Orders
I count up the number of Corner Shop Orders I completed, regardless of their size.
I ignore any incomplete orders still face up above my Factory.
If I completed the most orders, I earn ?12. I count the number of completed cards, not the number of completed stages. If two or more players have the same number of completed orders, we all earn ?12 each.
Department Store Orders
So here’s what we’re gonna do. We’re gonna take a look at each Department Store one by one. And then, we’re gonna rank the players. We’ll figure out who’s first, who’s second, and who’s third, based on where their markers are on the track.
Now, if the players are tied, we’ll break the tie. But how? Well, we’ll give the advantage to the player who fulfilled orders earlier. That means the player whose marker is underneath the other player’s marker on the same space.
Let’s talk about the rewards. The player who finishes first gets ?16. That’s a pretty nice prize if you ask me. The player who finishes second gets ?8 but there’s a condition. Their marker must be at least half as far along the track as the player in first place. And finally, the player who finishes third gets ?4. But they have to meet a condition too. Their marker has to be at least half as far along the track as the player in second place.
Oh, and there’s more!
We also have Department Store Order Bonuses. This is interesting. So, for each player, we’re gonna count the number of different Department Stores where they fulfilled at least one order. That’s gonna be important, so keep that in mind.
If you fulfill orders at 3 different Stores, you’ll earn ?6. But if you take it a step further and fulfill orders at 4 different Stores, you’ll get an even bigger reward of ?12. And if you really go all out and manage to fulfill orders at all 5 Stores, you’ll be rewarded with a whopping ?24. It’s a simple but effective way to boost your earnings.
Now, let’s talk about the remaining chocolates and coal. Each chocolate and coal you have left at the end of the game will earn you ?1. So make sure to manage your inventory wisely and don’t let anything go to waste. Every little bit counts.
And finally, let’s discuss how to win the game. The player who has earned the most money is the winner. It’s that simple. However, in the event of a tie, the player who played later in the turn order during the final day will be crowned the ultimate champion. So keep an eye on your opponents and strategize accordingly. Good luck!
