Chickapig Game Rules
Hey there! So you want to learn how to play Chickapig? Well, you’ve come to the right place! I’m here to explain everything you need to know to get started. Are you ready? Let’s jump right in!
Objective
The main goal of Chickapig is to safely guide your adorable chicken-pig hybrids, AKA Chickapigs, from the farm to their Goals across the board. Sounds simple, right? Well, it’s not as easy as it seems! You’ll need to avoid obstacles, strategically plan your moves, and outmaneuver your opponents to claim victory!
Setup
Before we begin, let’s set up the game board. Each player starts with four Chickapigs that they’ll place on their starting rank, along with a Hay Bale Fence Card to protect their Goals. Then, shuffle the cow, hay, and poop cards separately, placing them facedown near the game board. You’ll also need a deck of Crop Cards for each player.
Gameplay
Now, let’s talk about how to play. The game is played in turns, with each player taking one action on their turn. There are three possible actions you can choose from:
- Move: You can move one of your Chickapigs to an adjacent space orthogonally or diagonally, as long as the space is not occupied. Chickapigs can only move forward, not backward.
- Build: You can place a Hay Bale Fence Card on an unoccupied space adjacent to one of your Chickapigs. This will protect your Goal from opponents.
- Draw: You can draw a Crop Card from your deck and add it to your hand. Crop Cards can be played to help you during the game.
Remember, you can only take one action per turn, so choose wisely!
Obstacles
As you make your way across the board, you’ll encounter obstacles like cow cards, hay cards, and poop cards. These obstacles can either help or hinder your progress, so be prepared for anything!
Cow cards give you a lift, allowing you to move your Chickapig to any unoccupied space in a straight line from their current position. Hay cards can be used to build a Hay Bale Fence Card at any location on the board. Poop cards cause a little chaos and can make your opponent’s Chickapigs slide in a straight line across the board. Use these obstacles strategically to gain an advantage!
Winning the Game
The game ends when one player successfully gets all four of their Chickapigs to their Goals. That player is declared the winner and receives a crown. If multiple players achieve this in the same round, the player who collected the most Crop Cards wins. If there is still a tie, the player who reached their Goals first wins. Congratulations!
Conclusion
Now that you know the rules of Chickapig, it’s time to gather your friends and start playing! Remember to be strategic, adapt to the obstacles, and have fun on your way to becoming the Chickapig champion. Good luck!

Hey there! So, imagine this – you’re the boss of a bunch of Chickapigs. The goal? Well, it’s simple really. You gotta be the first player to get your Chickapigs across that board and into the goal. And let me tell you, it’s gonna be a wild ride.
Now, I gotta warn you about one thing – there’s a pooping cow. Yeah, you heard me right. A cow that poops. And trust me, you definitely wanna avoid that mess. Watch out!
But why do these Chickapigs even wanna cross that board in the first place? Well, it’s pretty simple, my friend. They just wanna get to the other side. Vuh! And who can blame ’em? The grass is always greener on the other side, right?
Let’s Take a Look at the Components
- You’ll find a Game Board
- Each player has 6 Chickapigs of their assigned color
- There are 4 Hay Bales for each color
- You’ll also see a Cow
- Don’t forget the Cow Fence
- Be aware of the 8 Cow Poops
- There are 9 Poop Cards
- Keep an eye out for the 9 Daisy Cards
- Make use of the Sand Timer
- And don’t forget the Chickapig Die
Now, Let’s Talk About the Game Elements
Meet the Chickapigs

To win the game, you need to get all your Chickapigs out of the board through your goal. Your goal is positioned directly opposite your 6 Chickapigs.
Chickapigs can move in a straight line, either forwards, backwards, or sideways. They aren’t able to move diagonally. Once they start moving, they won’t stop until they come across another Chickapig, a hay bale, the cow (and cow fence), the edges of the game board, or the sides of the goals.
When a Chickapig encounters an object, it stops in the space right next to it. Each time a Chickapig moves to encounter an object, it counts as one move.
Remember, you can only move your Chickapigs of your own color. You can’t move your Chickapigs into the other players’ goals.
Now let’s talk about hay bales.
Hey there! Hay bales are pretty awesome in Chickapig. They can help me and my Chickapigs reach our goal, or they can stop my opponents from getting to theirs. It’s a real game-changer!
Moving hay bales is easy. You can move them one space at a time, forward, backward, or sideways. But no diagonal moves, sorry! Each time you move a hay bale, it counts as one move. And get this, you can move them anywhere on the board, even inside the goals!
Just remember, I can only move my own color hay bales. So, no touching my opponent’s bales, got it?
Now, let’s talk about The Cow

When I roll a 1 during my turn, I have a cool choice. I can pick up the cow and put it anywhere on the board that’s not occupied. But here’s the twist – when I put the cow down, it takes a poop! And guess what? I have to put a poop token under the cow.
Now, the first time I roll a 1 and decide to move the cow, there’s something else I have to do. I must also remove the cow fence from the board for the rest of the game. It’s like a special rule just for the first time I move the cow.
But hey, here’s the cool part. Even if I don’t roll a 1, I can still move the cow on my turn. Yeah, I know, pretty awesome! The cow moves just like the hay bales – one square at a time, no diagonal moves allowed. And each time the cow moves one space, that counts as a move.
Oh, one more thing. When I move the cow without rolling a 1, it doesn’t poop. Poop only happens when I roll a 1 and put the cow on an open square.
Poop

Cows love pooping, but Chickapigs are not fans! Unlike cows, when a Chickapig poops and moves, the poop stays in the same spot. If you happen to pass over a poop with a Chickapig or a hay bale, you need to remove the poop from the board and take a Poop Card.
At the end of your turn, you have to read out loud and follow the instructions on the Poop Card before shuffling it back into the deck. All the Poop Cards are bad news because no one wants to step in poop.
Chickapigs, on the other hand, don’t mind poops. They can slip right through them until they hit another object. The cow, too, can go back over its own poop without any consequences, but it can’t leave two poops in one square.
Oh, and don’t forget about the Daisy Cards!

If I roll a 2, I can choose to take a special Daisy Card instead of using my 2 moves. The Daisy Cards are all helpful in some way. It’s important to keep the Daisy Card a secret and use it whenever I want during the game, but only when it’s my turn.
I can only have one Daisy Card at a time, and I can’t use it right away when I pick it up. Once I play a Daisy Card, I need to shuffle it back into the deck. It’s like having a secret power that I can use strategically during the game.

Get Ready to Play the Game!
- First, we need to set up the board. Just follow the diagram on the right and you’re good to go!
- Now, let’s decide who goes first. We’ll roll the die and the player with the highest roll gets to start. After that, the game continues in a clockwise direction.
- When it’s your turn, it’s time to roll the die and move your pieces. The number you roll tells you how many moves you can make on that turn. You can move your Chickapigs and the cow in any order you like, as long as you stay within your move limit. Your goal is to get all of your Chickapigs through your goal, so make sure to coordinate with your hay bales for a speedy maneuver. The first person to get all their Chickapigs through the goal is the winner!
When playing Chickapig, there are a few strategies you can use to up your game! Blocking your opponents and strategically placing your Chickapigs, hay bales, and the cow can help you defend and plot your own way to victory.
But remember, you can’t completely block another player’s goal! Every Chickapig needs to have at least one way through the goal. If a combination of Chickapigs and hay bales forms a complete block, it’s illegal. However, if a player can reach their goal by moving their own pieces or the cow, even if it takes a few moves, it’s fair game.
To keep the game moving smoothly, you can set a time limit per move. You can use the sand timer that comes with the game or set your own timer. This ensures that one slow player doesn’t slow down the fun for everyone else.
With these tactics in mind, you’ll be well-equipped to strategize and outwit your opponents in Chickapig. Get ready for an exciting and strategic game that will keep you on your toes!

Hey there! Let me tell you a fun game you can play. It’s called “Chickapig Goal.” The goal of the game is to move your hay bale in such a way that your chickapig stops right in front of the goal. It may sound easy, but it can be quite challenging!

Get ready to master the art of moving your Chickapig into scoring position! In this guide, I’ll show you some expert strategies to elevate your game and achieve the highest score possible.
First, let’s talk about the fundamentals. It’s important to understand the different ways you can move your Chickapig on the board. You can move your Chickapig forward, backward, sideways, or diagonally. The goal is to navigate your Chickapig through the obstacles and reach the scoring area.
When it comes to planning your moves, it’s crucial to consider the layout of the board. Take into account the positions of other Chickapigs, fences, and hay bales. Look for open paths and strategic opportunities that will lead your Chickapig closer to the scoring area.
One key technique is to use fences strategically. Fences can block your opponent’s Chickapigs and give you a clear path to advance. By strategically placing and moving fences, you can create obstacles for your opponent while clearing the way for your Chickapig.
Another important aspect to consider is the interaction between your Chickapig and hay bales. Hay bales can be used to your advantage by providing cover for your Chickapig or blocking your opponent’s path. Be mindful of the positioning of hay bales and use them strategically to gain an advantage.
Remember, every move counts. Think carefully before making a move and consider the possible consequences. Anticipate your opponent’s moves and plan ahead. By analyzing the board and thinking strategically, you can make the best moves to get your Chickapig into scoring position.
If you’re looking for an extra challenge, you can try playing against a friend or a computer opponent. Testing your skills against different opponents will help you become a better player and refine your strategies.
